04/04/2025: It was a cornerstone of a family-run pizzeria, I say it was because over time things have deteriorated a bit, the fries haven't seen clean oil for a long time, in fact they stink and are not good for your health, not to mention the pizzas, one in particular "ugly face" looked like they had vomited on the pizza, not to mention the blate (cockroaches) that roam undisturbed among the tables, in short I advise against it, then you do......

13/02/2025: Everything is clean, the pizza is delicious, the owner is good-natured, the service is not bad.

12/04/2025: We enjoyed an excellent pizza and good fried fish. The starters were also good and plentiful. Added value are the prices, a little below the norm.

06/04/2025: I went there with some friends for the first time on a Saturday where there was Karaoki evening. I have to say we had a lot of fun. The pleasant pizza was a little biscuity, but you could eat it (personally I don't like biscuity pizza) also because it was well seasoned. Friendly and courteous staff.

23/04/2025: Very limited starters at the expense of the cost (ordered the tasting of land starters). Very good and plentiful first courses, perhaps a little excessively creamed with cream and/or butter (trofie porcini mushrooms and speck and penne alla vodka) Modest second courses, both in flavor and quantity. The meat was good, but not unforgettable. The steak deserved praise (also ordered bombette, sausage and roast lamb). Service that left something to be desired, both for the initial wait, without serving water or bread or menus, and for then being able to deliver the orders (perhaps because the place was full, but an extra waiter would have been suitable). Errors on the orders, ordered two portions and only one arrived. Suggested fried pizzas, because the bread was finished, but they never arrived at the table. The place is very nice, one room is in a cave, humid but very nice, the outdoor terrace is characteristic and overlooks the natural ravine below. Restaurant for an unpretentious lunch, but certainly not to go there specifically. If you are already in the area, it might be worth considering

02/03/2025: We had a great time in this authentic place. The restaurateur made us taste traditional local dishes which were delicious. The children loved the pizza. I highly recommend.

06/02/2025: È sempre un piacere quando vengo a Taranto, fermarmi a mangiare al Canale, dopo tanti anni la qualità è sempre al top ,come la cortesia del personale e la varietà delle portate .Purtroppo non sempre riesco a trovare posto e sono costretto ad andare altrove, beh, la differenza si vede ! Per me resta il miglior ristorante di Taranto.

15/09/2024: I used the Just eat service and the time was respected. The order was due for delivery at 8.10pm and the deliveryman rang the intercom at 8.14pm. Good pizza, very tasty. Advised

23/12/2024: I'll try not to go on too long because it would be a waste of time, like the time spent in this place a few evenings ago. Just know that the waiters seem to be there by chance, they are totally uninterested in your requests and any complaints about delays in service (about 2 hours for 4 sandwiches and 2 platters). Baked potatoes never arrived, they independently decided to serve them fried, when they had already been canceled due to the incomprehensible delay and when the rest of the guests had finished their meal (i.e. dried up burgers, some burnt on the outside and raw on the inside). I won't report the interactions with the staff but they were surreal and really questionable, like the prices, a platter of 11 pieces of refined cheeses, in the sense that we are still trying to understand what we chewed, €12, one with the same cheeses ( fewer pieces) and cured meats (mostly salami), €20. Burgers for all tastes, i.e. burnt on the outside and half raw on the inside, one accompanied by a cascade of 5 fried potatoes, the others had 10. Reading the other reviews on service and food, it is not surprising that at the checkout the owner in response to the my: "I think it was the worst service of my life", responded with: "ah, why didn't you say so before?", in a flat and lobotomized tone that didn't change even when he was told that we had complained 3 times with the waiters about what was going on. This is how he typed our receipts, as if we were wishing each other happy holidays and greetings to the family, as if he were used to managing a place that has nothing to do with catering and he was only there to collect those hard-earned euros with the hard work of people who shouldn't be doing that job. If you want to open a place I recommend you come here for dinner to see how not to run a business.

01/11/2024: Very charming and well looked after place. Polite and kind staff. The dishes are good: tasty sandwiches and pizza made with excellent ingredients. Prices in line with offers! For my personal taste I would have preferred the sandwich bread to be a little softer. I wasn't thrilled with the beer meatballs.

The cuisine is excellent and the dishes are always prepared with care and attention. In particular, the fish dishes were a real highlight! 22/02/2025: Non-existent menu... only the waiter's voice... portions reduced to a minimum, limited choices, it was not possible to have even a vegetable side dish; grill that only offers sliced ​​meat and no other type of meat. For these reasons we only ate the appetizers... An experience not to be repeated

30/03/2025: Il locale è molto carino e il personale educato e accogliente. Abbiamo preso il loro antipasto, molto vario, di cui ci sono piaciuti soprattutto la seppia e il salmone affumicato con arancia. Gli assaggi di primo sono stati generosi, ma fra una portata e l'altra abbiamo dovuto aspettare un'ora, perché c'erano oltre 100 persone ( è il rischio di uscire di domenica!). Ottimo il pesce fresco: noi abbiamo apprezzato le triglie arrostite, molto saporite.

15/02/2025: Pepata di cozze super, seppie arrosto gustosissime e frittura ottima ma allo stesso tempo leggera. Interessante anche la carta dei vini. Personale molto cortese e conto adeguato, sicuramente da consigliare!

26/01/2025: Ristorante discreto.... ambiente carino e con luci lievemente soffuse che permettono al cliente di rilassarsi. I camerieri sono informali ma non invadenti. Si mangia abbastanza bene, anche se la formula con cui vengono presentati i piatti mi ha ricordato i ristoranti della mia infanzia, negli anni ' 80....Non aspettatevi piatti particolari....una cucina semplice ma d' effetto perché il ristorante non è una trattoria ma ha un' impronta da ristorante medio/ alto....tipo cucina da hotel....pertanto si mangia bene, ma è tutto nella norma e per una clientela fatta da famiglie o persone che credono nel " consueto". Andateci, perché no? Con la famiglia, con gli amici o per festeggiare San Valentino....
