03/04/2024: It's true that there isn't much choice in that town, but I certainly wouldn't recommend stopping here. Poor menu. Dishes that were poorly prepared and poor (in the sense that at a certain point they ran out of escalopes for example) Pilgrim's menu a little expensive for the dishes offered. Service: the waitress who served us lacked professionalism, making us feel a bit as if it were the first time at the restaurant.

26/03/2024: Finally a place where no one rushes you and you can have lunch with complete peace of mind. I would say excellent value for money. Every time we return to the donkey refuge we will definitely stop for lunch.

18/04/2024: Dinner for a couple in this restaurant, already from the telephone reservation you can understand the level of professionalism. Once you arrive you are greeted formally but with a smile, with a retro touch, which was very pleasant. The room is very beautiful, well-spaced tables, simply furnished, but at the same time gives a feeling of relaxation and warm welcome, you can feel a sensation of quiet intimacy at the table. The service is always present, professional, but never intrusive. We really appreciated the explanation of each course, plated in an excellent manner. We decided to have two starters and a first and second course, and we can say that on all courses, the raw materials were of excellent choice and cooked perfectly with combinations of sauces and reductions, so different and intense that they were perfect in combination. The wine list is vast and assorted, ranging across the various regions, I would say that everyone will find their choice. A little treat that left us pleasantly surprised "the entrée" with a selection of three dishes with a tasting, which make us understand the level of what the subsequent courses will be; the plate of desserts at the end of the meal, and having asked for a bitter to worthily finish an excellent dinner, they brought me to the table 3 varieties of liqueurs also accompanied by an essential but well-made explanation of the flavors, from which to choose. The price of dinner and courses was very in line with the products and service that accompanied us throughout the evening. We will certainly recommend "Matteo" and will return to experience other gastronomic emotions. Small side note, pleasantly surprised by the dining room staff who with great mastery is always with a smile, explained the various courses in English to two couples.

05/04/2024: I often choose this place, both for an aperitif or for holiday lunches. The dishes offered are really good and particular, the delicacies of the aperitifs too, the place being an authentic train carriage from the 60s and 70s is so particular that it seems to transport you to other times. The outdoor terrace is very large and well looked after, and the owners are always very kind. I highly recommend

26/02/2024: It's strange to put your all into a simple informal restaurant. You enter and you feel catapulted back in time, the owner looks at you and you think he will send you away as soon as possible. And instead behind that gruff look hides a very sweet person, with his ways, with his times. We arrived without a reservation, with the kitchen due to close shortly thereafter, and what's more we had a certain urgency. There was everything to send us to hell. And instead he found us a place, brought us everything on time, brought us a huge portion of polenta and venison, very tender and delicious. The same goes for polenta with sausage. As well as the homemade desserts. And above all a wonderful grappa. All at a fair price. We only had one regret, not having also thanked his wife in the kitchen.

10/03/2024: Slightly high prices (in the photo about 50 grams of Iberian ham for €20) and slow service...at least the drinks before ordering would be a way to mitigate the wait...an hour with a dry mouth... Ordered approximately the courses at 9.15pm and served (not even all of them) around 10.00pm.
