05/05/2025: Anche questa recensione è scritta in grande ritardo, come le altre fa parte di un viaggio in moto della scorsa estate dalla Carnia alle Alpi Francesi. La struttura è lungo una strada tortuosa e spettacolare, davvero amena e tranquilla, questo regala una vista meravigliosa al cliente, di ottimo non c'è solo la vista ma anche la cucina e la simpatia del personale e della proprietà, la figlia della signora Cecilia è anche la cuoca. La struttura è pulita ed accogliente, il parcheggio è di fronte all'albergo. Chi cerca tranquillità, silenzio, buona cucina e cortesia qui sarà pienamente soddisfatto! I dintorni offrono la possibilità di scoprire località poco conosciute ai più ma di sicuro interesse paesaggistico e storico mentre il Lago Maggiore è raggiungibile in poco tempo, con quel che ne consegue.

01/05/2025: Thank you Marta for the hospitality you give to the guests who stop in your refuge. I say "yours" because you are the true soul of those walls in that corner of paradise in the Maira Valley. Newly renovated building with spacious dormitories and comfortable bathrooms (a little less showers). Common room with fireplace and adjoining bar area. Spectacular place in the village of Ussuolo where it seems that time has stopped. Marta's cuisine made with the heart. The door is always open even just for a coffee with some resident. From Ussuolo's "first aid for the mind" cassette I borrowed a book of short stories by Pirandello. It's a good reason to come back to visit you from Venice and make it available to someone who needs it. Prints with faded colors emerge from your Polaroid but with portraits that express a moment of happiness experienced together. See you soon Marta and thanks again...

28/04/2025: The “La Carlina” refuge, located in the beautiful and quiet village of Ussolo, is an excellent choice for visiting the Maira valley or simply relaxing for a few days. The building is totally renovated and the environment is clean and welcoming. The cuisine is tasty but at the same time simple and light, making it very suitable for those who want to go on excursions. A big thank you to Marta for the passion with which she manages the structure and the care and attention with which she welcomes guests.

27/04/2025: Really inviting counter, both for savory and sweet pieces, it not only has the classic brioche but also cakes, cookies and pancakes, good coffee and really friendly and fast staff. Must try

27/04/2025: We were attracted by the many positive reviews. A small disappointment, commercial croissants and who knows what... Good cappuccinos. Terrible service, everyone crowds inside and at the cash register because they don't do table service, there are many of them and they could organize the management better

02/06/2025: We had dinner last night on the beautiful terrace on the lakefront. We were welcomed very well by people who were really competent from the choice of wine to the menu. We tasted their Pentolaccia and I must say that it is worth the trip. I will definitely return.

02/06/2025: When I come to visit my son Giulio and his family, they always take me to lunch here. It's a good restaurant with Lombard food. So much food that there's no room to put it. The manager and the Chef are very nice. I'm attaching some photos that I remembered to take between the various chats.

05/06/2025: If there were 10 stars I would have given them. Simply a wonderful place, clean, welcoming and with kind and smiling staff which nowadays is no small thing. Not to mention their menu, taste and goodness from appetizers to desserts! The polenta, what can I say.... You have to taste it to be able to comment because I wouldn't be credible. The best I've ever tried together with the venison. I'm from Turin and unfortunately I can't go often (I would definitely go once a week 😂) but I highly recommend it to anyone. My new favorite place.

28/04/2025: The dishes was good but not outstanding. But one was more than good - great lamb. About atmosphere - in my opinion unnecessarily a little bit too stiff. Interior very nice.
