05/03/2026: For a typical Valtellina dinner with friends from Milan, we chose Ristorante San Carlo, known for its impressive cellar, which also houses a collection of Valtellina Nebbiolo bottles. Despite the steep prices and somewhat limited portions of the dishes, such as the antipasto, sciatt, and taroz, the quality and sophistication of the dishes met our expectations. We also greatly appreciated the kindness and friendliness of the staff, who greeted us from the moment we entered and welcomed us into their restaurant.

08/02/2026: I'm writing both for the Locanda, where we stayed in a suite 😀 with a lovely atmosphere and a hot tub, and for the restaurant, where we dined, enjoying an excellent selection of local Valtellina dishes and flavors. We were pampered by all the staff, but special mention goes to Davide, who was very attentive and hospitable. We hope to see you again soon! Exceptional value for money.

25/12/2025: WHAT A HUGE HAIRCOMB! Two of us had lunch, and we were lured in by the photos of the highly acclaimed Saddle of Roe Deer, thinking they were a minimum portion for two people: €27 per person with only potatoes on the side... it might have been okay looking at the photos, but the reality was quite different: 80-90g of meat PER PERSON for €27 comes to a price of €270 per kg... have you ever paid that much for a Florentine steak?! THIS IS MADNESS. And the potatoes were awful, too. It's a shame because the rest of the food was quite good, especially the taroz. By the end, my stomach was in knots. Otherwise, the prices are pretty average, and the service is excellent, except for the fact that they sat us down at the beginning and then forgot about us (that's the fault of the person who showed us to the table, who didn't tell anyone). For fairness and to respect the customer's wallet, I recommend including the price per 100g on the menu. We are not all rich and we earn our money hard.

23/12/2025: Beautiful place, with a truly welcoming, family atmosphere. We really appreciated that the menu includes both traditional valley dishes, beautifully prepared, and original dishes based on local ingredients. The wine list is nothing short of remarkable. Dining on the veranda overlooking the valley is particularly lovely.

13/01/2026: An excellent experience at Braceria del Crotto. I tried the Japanese Wagyu grilled beef and a German selection: both were extraordinary, perfectly cooked, and truly superior in quality. A glass of excellent, carefully selected French wine accompanied everything. The finale was a true masterpiece: a sublime, balanced, and creamy tiramisu, one of the best I've ever tasted. A place that values ​​the finest ingredients and offers a top-notch gastronomic experience. Highly recommended.

07/01/2026: We went to eat at this farmhouse. They brought the appetizer with the chef's signature, which was supposedly jam, on the corner of the plate. My daughter stained her sweater. I mentioned it to the waitress, telling her that perhaps it would be better if the jam was placed more in the center of the plate. She rudely replied that that was the signature and the beauty of it. She didn't apologize, nor did she even say "Do you need stain remover?" Highly not recommended. As for the food, it's for tourists.

29/01/2026: This is the best meal I have had in all of Italy, and the proprietress is my favourite person in Italy. There is nobody I like in Italy more than her, and there is no food that I would recommend more than this. I would recommend getting the lamb, as well as fried cheese balls, and for some reason their Coca-Cola is also very good, probably because of all the love in the restaurant!!

29/01/2026: one of the best meals of our trip. worth the narrow drive off the main road. this place is proof you don't need to speak the same language to experience fantastic service. the food was homey and delicious. we ordered tiramisu for dessert and were offered clementines and homemade torrone too! i think the owner saw that we were tourists and even guided us out of the town to the highway in her car. a truly wonderful experience and i hope to be able to come back in the future.
