11/04/2025: The bar itself also has potential, but unfortunately it is completely ruined by the attitude of the owners. Never seen such arrogance and rudeness in a public place. Zero courtesy, zero professionalism. Entering here is like disturbing someone in their home: they look at you askance, barely respond, and make you feel unwanted. There is no sense of welcome. Asking for information or making an observation is taken almost as a personal insult. The owners seem annoyed by anything other than chatting with each other or with friends at the counter. A bar should be a place where you feel at ease, but here the atmosphere is heavy, almost hostile. It's not enough to open a restaurant: you also need to know how to manage it with respect for customers. If a good morning is seen from the owner, then this bar is destined to get worse.

06/04/2025: Ristorante tradizionale, con un buon menu sia di carne che di pesce, cosa non affatto scontata. Ottima la tartare di gambero, come pure il pescato del giorno. Servizio cortese e attento, tavoli sia all'interno che all'esterno.

Menù con prezzi molto alti, spropositati per la qualità offerta, clientela attirata col 50% di sconto su thefork. ma alla fine si paga un prezzo quasi pieno, perché senza quello sconto per antipasto, primo e secondo si finirebbe a superare i 100 euro a testa, il ché è poco credibile per il tipo di locale. Non ci tornerei.

20/05/2025: A seaside evening in Monza, with a Salento heart Is it possible that the sea and good fish can reach Monza? Yes, and that's exactly what happened to us thanks to Angelo and Vanda, who helped us discover TIPORTO: a restaurant where you can imagine the sea, but you can really feel it - in the taste, in the aromas, in the atmosphere. They had already told us in the car that a surprise awaited us. As soon as we entered the restaurant, Angelo turns to the maître and asks: "Is Danilo there?" We thus discover that Danilo, the owner, is originally from Sannicola like us, to be precise from Chiesanuova, where the Giaffredas are a well-known presence. Danilo arrives, we shake hands like true Salento people and immediately begins a story made of shared memories, families, experiences. From his days as a restless boy to his studies as a surveyor, to the many jobs carried out with dedication: from personal care to catering, always with his father's teachings in his heart - work above all else, independence and the desire to succeed. And so it was: different companies, meat and fish restaurants, with a single common thread - quality, passion and sacrifice. Today, Danilo leads a team of over 100 people. A true success story that moved us. We had to interrupt the story to dedicate ourselves - with great pleasure - to tasting a fish menu worthy of the best restaurants in Gallipoli: magnificently presented dishes, authentic flavours, impeccable service. The only regret? Not being able to participate in the fish auction that TIPORTO organizes from Friday to Sunday evening: a unique event that, as Danilo told us, makes this place even more special. 31/01/2025: For over 30 years, with the whole family, we have been going to dinner (sometimes lunch) at this Chinese restaurant, which is our favorite. We also often take takeaway food, which is always excellent, packaged to stay piping hot. Like all the other times we ate excellently, Cantonese rice, various types of bao, spring rolls, prawns.......and more, always of excellent quality and flavour. What we really regret is having received confirmation that unfortunately the business has been sold and therefore the restaurant will no longer be managed by these two fantastic guys and the whole family that we have known for many years. Always great kindness, fast and courteous service.....a real shame no longer having "the mandarin" as our point of reference for eating good Chinese food with always affable and kind treatment. All we can do is wish these guys a lot of well-deserved luck, with their beautiful baby; and an equally well-deserved rest for the whole family after many years of demanding activity.
