30/03/2026: Even though the entrance is unassuming and the prices aren't for the budget-conscious, our expectations for lunch were more than met. The Osteria's website gives a good indication of what to expect. Even as a (bicycle) tourist, you're greeted warmly upon arrival and shown to your table. In addition to the clear yet varied menu, available in three languages, there are also unobtrusive recommendations from the kitchen. Each of the delicious and beautifully presented dishes is explained in detail as it's served. The wait between courses is reasonable, given the fresh preparation. If you don't want to eat quickly in the tourist bustle on the lakefront, but rather enjoy a leisurely and delicious meal, you'll be exceptionally well served at Osteria Di Mezzo. We'll gladly return when we're in the area again.

19/05/2026: Strategically located right at the beginning of the beautiful lakeside promenade in Salò, the clean and fragrant room is equipped with everything you need and a courtesy kit. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, and the breakfast is varied and plentiful.

The wine pairings are perfect for tantalizing your taste buds and leaving you wanting more. The service is very friendly, warm, attentive, and professional. 13/05/2026: First of all, we were assigned what was probably the worst table by far – right by the bar in the aisle. All the waiters walked right up against the table, within inches of it. There was a constant draft. After 10 minutes, we knew all the waiters' deodorants by heart. Everyone was talking loudly and frantically in front of the bar, and the woman behind the counter slammed her refrigerator shut every few seconds. Something was always beeping. A terrible place and cacophony. The menu offered no selection of (large) salads, pasta dishes, or vegetarian options. The focus was clearly on pizza. The small salad I had to eat was awful, and my wife's pizza was completely black on the outside (the outer layer was practically half the pizza). Most of the turkeys that were carried past our table were in the same condition.

17/04/2026: 'Embarrassing' is an understatement. We ordered a slice of meat that arrived cold and rubbery. The tagliolini with perch and crunchy vegetables were a complete disappointment: dry, low-quality pasta and boiled vegetables lacking any hint of the promised fishy flavor. The prices are sky-high, which would be acceptable if the ingredients were genuine and well-cooked, but that's not the case here. Avoid at all costs.
