Osteria di Mezzo In Salò

Even though the entrance is unassuming and the prices aren't for the budget-conscious, our expectations for lunch were more than met. The Osteria's website gives a good indication of what to expect. Even as a (bicycle) tourist, you're greeted warmly upon arrival and shown to your table. In addition to the clear yet varied menu, available in three languages, there are also unobtrusive recommendations from the kitchen. Each of the delicious and beautifully presented dishes is explained in detail as it's served. The wait between courses is reasonable, given the fresh preparation. If you don't want to eat quickly in the tourist bustle on the lakefront, but rather enjoy a leisurely and delicious meal, you'll be exceptionally well served at Osteria Di Mezzo. We'll gladly return when we're in the area again.

Very romantic and elegant place. We ate wonderfully, mainly lake fish dishes, each one better than the last. Very friendly staff!!! We'll definitely be back!!!

A very hidden little place, but very beautiful and well-kept. There's not a lot of seating, so it feels a bit exclusive. The staff is very kind and welcoming. They have a varied menu, and I fell in love with everything I tried. It was a truly wonderful discovery. The tagliolini with sardines are amazing.

Simply wow. A small but exquisite restaurant with a sophisticated ambiance. We had a wonderful experience last night celebrating our birthday with dinner there. We were greeted with an amuse-bouche and a selection of homemade breads. The food we ordered was fantastic. You could taste the quality and craftsmanship that went into it, which absolutely justified the prices. The service was very attentive, always available, but never intrusive. A great wine list with regional wines at very fair prices. Highly recommended!

Yesterday, my family and I were in Salò for a Sunday stroll, given the nice weather and the fact that we hadn't been there in a while. After a detailed Google search over the past few days, my mother found this place that inspired her. We made a reservation for three at 1 pm. It's located inside Salò, with a few steps to climb (a bit inconvenient for strollers and prams). The place is small but very well-kept with a very classy atmosphere. Just a few tables ensure a quiet place. The menu offers a diverse selection of both quality and quantity. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The bathroom is very clean and smells great. Perhaps because it was Sunday lunchtime and it was busy, or perhaps because the dishes aren't the quickest to prepare, or because they're made to order, we had a bit of a wait, but it was definitely worth it. We were full and chose not to order coffee, but they did give us a little gift of their homemade cookies (a much-appreciated gesture). The price was consistent with the quantity and quality of the food, and with the location and beautiful village. Very satisfied, we will definitely be back.
