14/08/2025: An amazing vacation; calling it a hotel is an understatement given the many activities available thanks to the concierge's invaluable advice. We tried the sunset boat excursion with aperitif and an exclusive boat tour of the Cinque Terre. Needless to say, the location is fantastic for visiting the center and the famous church of San Pietro. Close to excellent restaurants, including the Grand Hotel's own: the Palmaria restaurant. The friendly, helpful staff helped make those days and our stay at the Grand Hotel itself a special memory...thanks again!

07/08/2025: Wonderful staff, very helpful with recommendations for activities as well as booking what you might need. Rooms were very clean, views were amazing and the breakfast may be the best I've ever had at any resort including some 5 star hotels in New York. My wife and I weren't sure we'd realize the value we paid initially, but after leaving I would say it's a great deal given what the hotel provides from a service and location standpoint. We will be returning next year.

21/07/2025: Finally, some great focaccia in Sarzana! I searched for a long time, and then, through word of mouth, I finally found it. Always warm, freshly baked focaccia, and the friendliest service! Highly recommended!

08/08/2025: The hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, from Mr. Marco and Paolo to Mrs. Sonia and Marinella, who greeted me every morning at breakfast with a smile and a friendly joke, as well as excellent pastries and fresh produce. The view was breathtaking.

20/08/2025: Short version: Top food, top service, top price Long version: We ate there a total of three times during our vacation. Two of those times we went without a reservation. We always got a table outside. It should be noted, however, that we were there right after they opened. The service was friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful conversation with the young lady, even in English. She also made a great effort to explain the desserts to us and show them on our smartphone. The dishes we ordered were fantastic. Authentic Italian cuisine for a reasonable price, compared to German prices. There were three of us there and we paid just under €50 each time – three main courses, at least one dessert, and drinks. The restaurant is located in the pedestrian zone (ZTL). Therefore, you can hear the hustle and bustle of the street. We didn't find this annoying, but rather pleasant. Parking is available within walking distance in two nearby parking lots – free of charge. We highly recommend the restaurant.

21/09/2025: Today, September 20, 2025, I went to lunch with my brother at ex-Pipino. It wasn't a work lunch since it was Saturday. We chose: penne with scampi and fried food. The first course was disgustingly hot, the scampi were anthracite in color once opened, so we didn't dare eat them. At that point, we called the waitress Michela, who delivered them to the kitchen, telling us that they had been caught this morning and were fresh (!) The fried food was edible. We didn't even order coffee given the atmosphere... hot and loud. We got to the cashier, and the lady of foreign origin gave us the bill: €68. Before paying, I asked the waitress to testify about the first course. The owners' response was: "Sorry." We paid, then my brother checked the receipt: €10 had been added. They justified themselves by saying that it was the waitress's mistake and they didn't want to give us our money back! Then when I told them I'd give them a proper review, they opened the register and gave us €10 back. As I was leaving, I commented to my brother, "They'll take €10 from you and then they'll take offense." As soon as I left, Mr. Corrado began insulting and threatening me. Besides telling me not to come back (though there was no need to specify this), placing the palm of his hand just inches from my face, he told me he wanted to kick me to my car. I didn't say anything in response to such fury. But it didn't end there... When we were exiting the parking lot next door, the foreign woman stood in front of our car to prevent us from leaving. She wanted to tell us we were "starving" because we checked the bill and noticed the mistake. I was speechless... I urge potential customers to check their receipts and I hope they encounter much more polite owners!!!

24/08/2025: My husband and I dined last night and can confirm that the half-hour wait before ordering was worth it... everything was delicious!!! From the spaghetti with lobster, to the stewed cuttlefish with potatoes and peas, to the grated scallops, and finally to a delicious octopus and potato salad. Finally, to finish, a double fried calamari and shrimp platter, which was excellent. The waiter was very kind and available to answer any questions we had... we highly recommend it! We will definitely be back when we're in the area.

24/08/2025: Since there's always a long line, we decided to give it a try. You can choose from several dishes. One costs between €8 and €15. There are many seafood dishes. Unfortunately, my couscous was cold. Otherwise, the food was okay for the price.

31/08/2025: After a nine-hour journey, we satisfied our initial hunger at Pizza Gourmet. All the pizzas were perfect. We recommend the pizza with white sauce and lardo. A good draft beer, an inexpensive Falanghino. The tiramisu was perfect. We'll be back.

26/08/2025: Delicious and crispy pasta, a good amount of toppings and very friendly service! If you are in La Spezia, I definitely recommend visiting this place.
