The service is fast and quality, and the view from the restaurant is priceless. The staff is friendly and professional, and the owner is super nice and friendly. Highly recommended!

01/10/2025: Judging by the over-whelming review responses so far being combative rather than accepting, I did wonder if it were worth writing this. After all, isn’t one positive aspect of an honest review being that those responsible for the establishment can improve? I visited with my husband - one night stay. First things first, acknowledgment where it is due, the owners/people at this establishment are lovely and are intent on giving good service. All are very friendly and courteous -but other than this element, I’m afraid I’m at a loss as to why many other reviews are so at odds with our own recent experience. The views, of course, are absolutely stunning ….. but when that’s been said, nothing else is anywhere close to acceptable, let alone impressive. It’s obvious that the picture-book location is expected to deflect any and all expectations of comfort. There really is precious little. Please don’t expect that the photos were taken this side of the millennium, and at that fast-receding point in time, the decoration and facilities were more than likely passable - but having clearly had zero investment in the fabric since, it has become tired and massively past its sell-by date and in dire need of maintenance on a grand scale. It has to be said, however, that as some buildings fall into decrepitude, they become oddly iconic. Perhaps this is a case in point….. but be warned, don’t expect anything less than an authentic Adam’s Family mansion experience complete with incredible, breath-taking views.

21/09/2025: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel La Riserva di Castel d'Appio. The place is full of charm, the view is magnificent, and the setting is very relaxing. The staff is charming and efficient, whether at reception, at breakfast, or in the restaurant. The rooms are comfortable and the food is of high quality. We will gladly return!

23/12/2025: You're hungry! Don't go! Monday lunch special, December 22, 2025: Two tiny portions of lasagna with no meat to speak of, plus one bottle of sparkling water (no coffee) = €32. Judging by the taste, we wondered if it was homemade. If you want to enjoy the view, why not, but the service was mediocre. We were disappointed.

19/12/2025: A really lovely bar, especially in the late afternoon, at sunset.

14/09/2025: Surprisingly excellent food, in a simple setting. Recommended are the tagliolini with porcini mushrooms and the fig cake. Both are strictly homemade. The only flaw is the location.

04/11/2025: Great experience! They don't have appetizers, just first and second courses. The portions are so generous that the waiters themselves recommend sharing the dishes. The quality of the food is truly top-notch! The wine list is also good. Expect to leave feeling full for around €35 ​​per person. Special mention for the friendliness of the staff. We'll definitely be back.

09/12/2025: I'm on vacation and stopped by this place because I was looking for something cheap and quick to eat. I spent very little and had two amazing focaccias, one of which was filled with gorgonzola, nothing short of spectacular. The lady was very kind.

13/02/2026: Da Nicó in Sanremo was an experience we'll never forget. From the first moment, we were greeted with rare elegance and care, treated like royalty, despite our young age—and this says a lot about the attention and respect this restaurant gives each and every customer. The dinner was impeccable, but what really impressed us was the service, which was almost of an old-world class: constant attention, never intrusive, always sincere. We were literally "gagged" throughout the evening, and at the end of the dinner, they put our coats on us with a heartwarming kindness and, as if that weren't enough, they even gave us a final discount, a gesture that speaks for itself. A well-deserved honorable mention goes to the bearded, ponytailed waiter—professional, charismatic, and incredibly attentive—and to the brunette waitress with the radiant smile, capable of making you feel at home with just a glance. You don't just go to Nicó to eat well—you go to feel special. A restaurant that combines quality, heart, and style. We will definitely return and recommend.

01/03/2026: It's always a pleasure to come and drink a cappuccino with a small slice of tiramisu at Gran Caffè when you come shopping in Ventimiglia.

15/02/2026: I was surprised to see that all the other tables that arrived at the same time as me, and who didn't order any more than I did, received chips and mini pizza slices as soon as they arrived, but nothing else. So either this establishment doesn't want women dining alone, or my appearance was a problem. I was in doubt for the first time in my life this lunchtime. Please excuse me for not coming with other people and for only spending around 20 euros. Next time I'll know that you give chips to certain people and not to women dining alone. Tables weren't clean. Service was slow, but you just have to get their attention... I paid 20 euros and some change for a Coke, a coffee, a plate of eggplant parmesan, and tiramisu. The tiramisu was soggy, not fresh. Probably several days old. The toilets were like a pigsty. A little cleaning wouldn't hurt.

The service, while pleasant, is unfortunately unusually slow, and the food, with its very limited selection, is nothing exceptional. Ultimately, the value for money is mainly due to the particularly pleasant setting.

06/12/2025: I stopped in during a motorcycle ride in the area. The food is excellent; the homemade ravioli are truly delicious, and the tiramisu was also excellent. The place is quite casual but clean, and the service is very fast and attentive. For a first course, dessert, water, and coffee, I paid €16, which isn't exactly a miracle, but these days, sometimes it's not enough for an appetizer! Very substantial, without too many pretensions to elegance.

24/08/2025: I gave it 5 stars because this is a rare place in a world where people are tired of the traditional and constantly searching for new flavors at prohibitive costs. After tasting typical Ligurian home cooking, you sense the passion of this family, who for years, with their carpasina, have kept the heart of Carpasio alive. The dishes change constantly, but they all share the flavor of traditional cuisine. The simplicity and quality of the local products, in my opinion, make this an experience that grows more and more appreciated each time. Congratulations.

22/02/2026: You should always look at reviews with few stars... and I agree with someone (who had me in stitches 😂😂) about the very good coffee, the deplorable service from poor, overworked, and overstressed young waitresses, the frozen/reheated "brioches" with little care, and... 🐸 Jabba the Hutt 🐸 at the till. Indeed, it's both surgically precise and tragic... But it will delight Star Wars fans 🐸 sprinkled with a bit of plastic Don Corleone and a lot of Ettore Scola.... We're touching on the tragic, the grotesque, the mediocre, all that very precise vision that Scola had. Far from the Dolce Vita, we sink into a grim reality, decorated with glitter. Only coffee saves the day... As for the rest, if you have a sense of humor 🐸 or are lacking inspiration to write a sketch... you're going to have a blast... May the force be with you! 🙏🐸👋😂

22/01/2026: Excellent place for an aperitivo. The owner is always friendly, the spritz is good, but I'd rather focus on the appetizers: fresh, tasty, and truly high-quality. Returning is always a pleasant experience.
