28/09/2025: Yes, the negative reviews are correct.
We were there for the second time because of the good location, and we knew what to expect.
But it's really unfortunate that everything is so carelessly dilapidated.
At least the breakfast room has been renovated in recent years, but the rooms are at the standard of German "worker's rooms"...!
Only the view of the sea and the sound of waves at night offer some consolation.
Breakfast can be ordered separately for a fee.
By the way, there are no parking spaces; the free public parking lot at the harbor is about a 15-minute walk away.
The staff is friendly, but sometimes gives incorrect information, specifically about the parking lot, for example!
28/09/2025: Beautiful location, especially because we could see the sea from our room. The room was really tiny and basic (perhaps a little too basic).
However, if breakfast is included, it would be appropriate to also specify in the order confirmation that it only includes cappuccino and a croissant.

15/06/2025: Una bella scoperta in centro a varazze , un bel ristorante con tavoli in piazzetta dove si respira cordialità e buon cibo . Ottime trofie al pesto con patate e fagiolini , e cosa bellissima che si possono prendere mezze porzioni . Se tornerò a varazze ci tornerò di sicuro

The pizzas are neither good nor bad (but made with good ingredients).
The prices are high for this type of establishment.

02/08/2025: at first it was a nice place and was seated outside. Although the service was slow, especially considering the ratio between customer and staff. The shared starter platter was pretty big, infact most portions are big here. Although after starters it took a long time for us to recieve our main courses. The pork was bad and the potatoes were fine. For the pizzas it was mainly okay. The biggest issue was the time between each server interaction. Like i said, very slow service. Portions are filling but you may experience slow service.

17/10/2025: I was a regular at this place, coming often and even recommending it to friends and family. Unfortunately, this year was a disaster. All the female staff were incredibly rude and impolite, a rare display of disrespect. It's a real shame, because the place has a beautiful setting and a great atmosphere. Even my relatives, who had started frequenting on my recommendation, noticed the same problem. It's truly disappointing: how can they hire people like that? In the end, we decided not to return.
18/08/2025: Aperitif dinner for 11 people, €20 each. The food was either completely precooked or not seasonal (pretzels, croquettes, pizzas, spicy salami), in enormous quantities, but nothing fresh. Considering the price and the summer heat, something fresh was definitely missing; so little would have sufficed (a cold pasta dish, a rice salad). Considering this is Liguria, a bit of sardenaira or torta verde would have been a nice touch.

To my surprise, the latte was less than 2 euros.
Seeing the location, I thought it would be more expensive.
It seems they bake their own food.
They have very attractive and appetizing products.
27/09/2025: Extremely rude, a 40-year Panarello customer, I asked on Saturday morning for a small Panarello cake with zabaglione for the next day. Nothing particularly strange, the classic cake with the classic filling (which they always have in single portions), no strange request, simply one of their classics. Nothing, "you can order, but without the filling." Click.
Maybe I should have called a week in advance? I'm speechless; a bakery that supplies so many stores just couldn't make a cake for 6 people with their classic filling. Too little notice, perhaps, or too small. Zero professionalism. Too bad that at another store in the center I was told it's unacceptable that the bakery can't prepare a filled cake if ordered the day before... make an agreement and be more polite with customers. The filled cake is finished. I bet if I'd ordered it from Panarello in Milan they'd have made it for me.
