21/07/2025: To whoever took the order today, July 21, 2025, at approximately 1:10 PM, I would advise them to change jobs so as not to let the Hamburger Restaurant go bankrupt. We ordered two burgers, specifically asking for them to be rare, as overcooked meat is inedible. Bear in mind that there were only four people in the restaurant at the time, so it was empty. The kitchen certainly wasn't working hard. Well, the first one arrived after 5 minutes (an acceptable amount of time), and the second after over 10 minutes, but BOTH OVERCOOKED!!!! I wanted to be very calm and polite, because workers can make mistakes, and point out to the person who took the order that the burgers were overcooked, almost stringy. The response?: I'M SORRY, THE KITCHEN FORGOT THEM ON THE GRILL... shrugging and asking the next customer for their order!!!!!!!! We've been eating there for years with colleagues and friends, but I'll do everything I can to persuade anyone to come and eat there. I've read some reviews, and based on their approach, what happened to me today isn't an isolated incident!

24/03/2025: Non mi ha accettato un pagamento con il bancomat per un importo di 8,50 euro! .. sono dovuto uscire e prelevare e tornare per saldare, inaccettabile!!! Esistono metodi di pagamento a commissioni zero sotto i 10 euro, informatevi! La mia scelta di usare il bancomat è legittima, e sancita da una legge di 10 anni fa. Non tornerò e dirò a chi conosco di fare lo stesso.

09/10/2025: DO NOT EAT HERE Food was good. Service was great. Then our €92 bill ballooned to €161. Seems we were hot with the usual tip, city tax, charges for napkins, cutlery, etc. Read the reviews. It’s a trend at this place.

30/09/2025: Amazing experience. Food is so fresh. Staff is so attentive. We sat by the water and had a perfect experience. I don’t understand the reviews. If you don’t want to go to a high end restaurants that changes more than the rest of Italy, don’t come to Portofino. 100% worth your money!

04/07/2025: All'interno aria condizionata inesistente...caldo. Troppa gente quindi cucina a rilento. Non sono riusciti mai a servire il tavolo con piatti tutti insieme. Buono ma non da ricordare. Prezzo alto

21/06/2025: Locale dotato di molti coperti tenendo conto del dehor. Prezzi alti sia come ristorante che come pizzeria. Abbiamo optato per 2 pizze, che sono risultate mangiabili.

23/07/2025: Horrible place. We ordered mussel soup — they brought us something that looked like slop on a plate: shrimp full of sand, mussels that smelled rotten. As I expected, I got food poisoning even though I only ate a few. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! _________________ Locale orribile. Abbiamo ordered a zuppa di cozze — I hanno portato a specialty of schifezza nel piatto: gamberi pieni di sabbia, cozze che puzzavano di marcio. Come immaginavo, mi sono intossicata anche se ne ho mangiate solo un paio. Non lo consiglio a nessuno!

11/07/2025: Maten var medioker, service från den unga tjejen var urusel, snorkig/ingen servicekänsla behöver gå en utbildning i yrket.Dåligt bemötande för alla-utom om du är italienare, då fjäskar personalen.

23/06/2025: Visitamos la pizzería Vesuvio Ristorante en Rapallo como parte de una excursión en crucero, justo en el paseo marítimo, por lo que la ubicación es ideal para una escapada panorámica. Nos ofrecieron aperitivos gratuitos y una parada de baño aquí durante el recorrido. La pastelería era fresca y sabrosa, los cacahuetes eran sorprendentemente buenos, y el jugo golpeó el lugar en un día cálido. Si bien no pedimos una comida completa, el servicio fue amable y rápido. Consejo: Si vas a caminar por el paseo marítimo o en una parada de crucero como nosotros, es un pequeño lugar genial para refrescarte y disfrutar de la vista. ¡Consideraría volver a probar su pizza!

20/11/2025: I had a full kebab piadina and found it overall good. The owner is friendly, and the place is a bit worn but seems clean. There's also a bathroom, which isn't always available in these types of places. I found it fairly clean, but it lacked toilet paper and hand drying paper. I'm still giving it a full 5 stars because I had a good experience, even though, as has happened at other kebab places, I had to listen to a loud Islamic mass broadcast on the restaurant's TV the entire time.

20/09/2025: We were the only customers and we waited too long for our order. The pizza leaves a lot to be desired: thin crust with too little tomato and not enough toppings. I don't recommend it. The welcome was good, but we came to eat.

29/06/2025: Sicuramente cenare in spiaggia a piedi nudi sulla sabbia è davvero il top... ma finisce poi tutto qui. Disorganizzazione totale nel servizio ai tavoli. Il pesce si sentiva che era fresco (ma siamo al mare e direi che è il minimo) ma non aveva molto sapore... le porzioni poi davvero "ristrette". Eravamo in 4 amici ma solo in due bevevamo vino perciò abbiamo chiesto... come da menù ... un calice di vino bianco locale. È arrivato un calice con 2 dita scarse (e lo abbiamo misurato) di vino, praticamente un sorso giusto x risciacquarti la bocca!!! Abbiamo chiesto più volte l'acqua ai tre camerieri che servivano ma niente non arrivava. La mia amica allora è andata a chiederla di persona ma non è servito a nulla, l'hanno portata quasi a fine pasto. Ho speso molto solo per un piatto scarso di gamberi + il calice (fasullo) di vino +coperto... sinceramente lo sconsiglio pessima qualità prezzo/cibo/servizio.

29/06/2025: Lamento dejar una crítica negativa para este lugar, ya que tiene algunos puntos de partida prometedores: una gran ubicación y un ambiente familiar. Sin embargo, parece que los propietarios se han vuelto complacientes, confiando únicamente en el entorno mientras descuidan todo lo demás. El menú consiste principalmente en horno - platos horneados con poca variedad, la selección de vinos incluye solo sus propias botellas - mal servido - y no hay una sonrisa a la vista. Para colmo, la factura era demasiado alta para la experiencia entregada.

08/06/2025: Ci siamo recati qui per una cena in famiglia. Eravamo stati già qualche altra volta ma questa è stata memorabile. Abbiamo ordinato degli antipasti arrivati abbastanza celermente e poi per un’ora abbiamo atteso i primi e i piatti di fritto misto. Abbiamo chiesto notizie alle varie cameriere e nel frattempo annullato una grigliata per non dover attendere ancora altri piatti. Quando arrivata la pasta al pesto era gommosa, insipida e sostanzialmente immangiabile Abbiamo avanzato i due piatti ordinati mentre il fritto misto era oleoso, poco salato e gommoso anch’esso. Il servizio inoltre è approssimativo e poco puntuale. Non si può attendere un’ora dall’antipasto ai piatti caldi. Abbiamo aspettato invano che venisse qualcuno al tavolo per sparecchiare e chiederci se volevamo dolce o caffè anche per far vedere che il cibo era tutto avanzato, ma nessuno si è avvicinato se non quando ormai stavamo andando a pagare. Non siamo persone che vogliono creare problemi ma con un tavolo in cui solo uno dei 5 piatti caldi era stato mangiato parzialmente, avrebbero dovuto farci uno sconto. Invece abbiamo pagato più di 200€. La qualità è peggiorata e il servizio non è per niente professionale. Mai più!!!

18/08/2025: The staff only speaks Italian, there is no translation of the menu cards into another language. The ordered dish was served without rice, although it was indicated when ordering.

17/08/2025: Nice restaurant with a wide selection of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisine. The Thai noodles, sushi, and Chinese dishes are excellent; the spring rolls and steamed dumplings aren't as good, but two dishes out of everything I ate isn't average... The portions aren't overly generous, but they're perfect for an all-you-can-eat experience. Good value for money. The staff is friendly, courteous, and very attentive to customer needs. I'll definitely be back.

10/08/2025: A beautiful place, but unfortunately, given the "standing" it aims to maintain, it falls short in some respects, specifically in the following areas: - Tables in the gazebos with rust spots - Side curtains on the gazebo partially missing. - Dirty/stained sun lounger mattress (we asked for it to be replaced, and it was promptly replaced with apologies for the inconvenience). - Bathroom hygiene needs updating (lack of toilet paper in the women's bathroom and cleanliness needs improving). In my opinion, the price paid doesn't match what's offered. Considering that the price for 5 hours (from 2 pm to 7 pm) is €137, I would have expected greater quality and attention to service. It wouldn't take much, especially considering the number of gazebos (28), to make this beach truly the "gem" and most exclusive beach in Santa Margherita, as advertised. I'd also like to point out that we purchased a thermal water bottle. It's very nice looking, with the bathroom logo on it, but it doesn't keep the water cold at all, even though it was guaranteed to work properly at the time of purchase. (Please avoid making any comments without first having verified your claims, to avoid disappointment.) Regarding the restaurant, since we didn't eat there, I can't express any opinion, but having read the dishes offered and given the location, I feel compelled to give a positive assessment. Another positive note was the receptionist, who demonstrated courtesy and professionalism. P.S.: I've changed my rating from 3 to 1 star because I'd like to point out that after just 7 days, the thermal water bottle has rust spots on both the cap and the inside (as shown in the photo). This is absurd; it's unsafe to use, as you risk drinking rust. Any feedback is appreciated.

01/08/2025: This year, like last year, we chose this beach resort for its proximity to home and the gazebos, but we discovered at the start of the season that the management had changed. We immediately had problems with bookings: we therefore decided to start with a week, from Monday, June 30th to Sunday, and this already created problems because the weekly stay, for which we had been asked to pay €1,250 in advance, could not be made due to the different rates between the months of June and July. Therefore, we immediately paid €1,400 for the Monday of June and the week from Tuesday to the following Monday (July). Unfortunately, due to force majeure (bad weather), we lost three days of the booked period, so my husband asked the manager if we could make up the days on other days. He was told that we could only make up two, and although we didn't fully agree, we accepted (at €200 per day). When we rebooked for the two-day make-up session, we were told we were only booking one day, not two. At that point, we replied that we wouldn't be willing to negotiate like in a Marrakech souk, and that in a €200-a-day establishment, customers deserve a service that's proportionate and worthy of the price they pay. Bottom line: three paid days wasted and service subpar due to incompetence and a lack of professionalism, but above all, lost customers.

24/08/2025: The current management is scandalous, dirty and smelly bathrooms, expensive food and not even generous portions, shower without water, the only saving grace is the staff which is average, after years of coming here and the worst management I have ever seen.

21/08/2025: Aside from the sea, there's nothing to go for lunch or anything else. The prices are high for what they offer, a run-down place with a dirty and dilapidated bathroom. The managers are rude, and I don't think they even have the excuse of being Ligurian. It's attractive because it's access to the free beach, where they have to provide water for the shower, but the manager tries to obstruct this by keeping the flow to a minimum to save money, or sometimes complaining about system failures. It's a shame.

20/10/2025: Update Google Maps, because after parking and arriving in front of the restaurant, in the rain with a one-year-old child, and finding it closed... it's inconceivable!

13/10/2025: Everything was delicious, from the farinata to the dessert, the staff were very kind, I will definitely be back.

03/12/2025: The food was quite good. The waitstaff was a bit slow on the uptake, but quite nice. Why the male waiter had to wear swim trunks, however, remains a mystery to me. Everything seems a bit more neglected than it did a few years ago. Unfortunately! Update: It's still far too loud in this pizzeria. The dark-haired owner could easily be a prison warden, she's so unfriendly and loud. Furthermore, they don't give a receipt after paying... unacceptable! I've been to this pizzeria several times and can say that the other guests are very unkempt and loud. Some even put their phones on while eating. No manners whatsoever!

17/09/2025: Frosty reception for poor spoken Italian on the phone to order takeaway pizzas. Accused of not speaking Italian well enough!! Requested a sachet of hot oil for the pizzas while showing a sachet of sugar on the counter to try to make myself understood... incomprehension from the waitress who said but that's sugar!! In short, never again, even if the pizzas weren't bad

18/08/2025: Definitely nice, but expensive: €20 for two Aperol Spritzes. Nice little terrace overlooking the sea.
