25/09/2025: I had to wait 30 minutes to get a sandwich and a beer, even though it was off-peak time (12:50) and there was no one in line. But then again, it was the Rome derby, and it was more important to follow the match on my tablet. Furthermore, the burly guy at the kiosk is incredibly ignorant. He wanted me to eat standing up even though there were empty seats at the counter ("They're for people having coffee, otherwise how am I supposed to do it") and empty tables ("And what if someone makes a reservation?"). In the end, he took pity on me and let me eat my sandwich on a rusty iron table. Hygiene is also poor, as the place where they prepare the sandwiches is full of flies and midges, which isn't a good sign. If you value yourself and your self-esteem, avoid this place. When I write negative reviews, I do so for one sole purpose: if you're good and capable, you should thrive; if you're not, you should quit and change careers, given the overwhelming competition. Unfortunately, most people don't think like me. Update: I appreciate your polite response. I'll try again next year.

09/12/2025: I was able to try this place thanks to two dear friends who introduced me to this welcoming place, offering a wide selection of tasty dishes and excellent value. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is truly excellent! An experience worth repeating, highly recommended!!!

18/12/2025: One of the worst restaurants I've been to in a long time. The moment you walk in, they tell you it's mandatory to order two starters and two main courses per person. What kind of policy is this? Do you need to see my wallet to see if I'm going to spend the money you want? I've never seen anything like it, and frankly, I find it in very poor taste. Later, I ordered a white wine, and a blonde waitress with glasses (I don't know if she's the owner, I hope for the restaurant's sake that she isn't) came and told me they didn't have that wine, but offered me another wine completely different from what I was looking for. I told her it was nothing like what I wanted, and she didn't seem to like it. I ordered two beers, but she said she only had Belgian beer. Then her colleague (very friendly) came and offered us two very good beers that weren't Belgian. I don't understand why the waitress told us that; oh well, I guess she didn't like us... Later, they brought us fried tripe with lemon. Honestly, we found the dish to be just okay. We asked the same waitress if she had mayonnaise for the fried tripe, but she didn't seem to like it again and rudely told us they didn't make sauces and didn't have any. The pasta was spectacular, we have to admit, but later they brought us a second course that we didn't like very much. In short, the food wasn't anything special except for the pasta, but let's just say the waitress ruined our dinner. Honestly, if that girl is the owner, I advise her to change professions and go herd sheep in the mountains where she doesn't have to deal with people, since she doesn't seem to like human beings. And if she's an employee, I advise the people in charge of the restaurant to reconsider their future with the company. It's unbelievable how such an arrogant and rude person can ruin a dinner. We will never return, and I recommend, for the good of humanity, never visiting this establishment. Response to the restaurant owner's reply: Don't give me lame excuses. The truth is, you have an employee who ruins the experience at your restaurant. I'm not the only one saying this; your low Google rating speaks for itself, largely due to the staff's arrogance. If you haven't already, read the many reviews that reflect this behavior from your employee. It would have been a great dinner if it hadn't been for this arrogant attitude, so there's absolutely no excuse. Treating customers well is the least you can do, since they're the ones who pay your bills and your employees' salaries. It's completely unacceptable to treat customers like this and then offer lame excuses. Train your staff on wines and learn about sauces. Mayonnaise is not a mass-produced sauce!

21/10/2025: A very spacious pastry shop. A wide selection of desserts and breakfast items. We had a maritozzo and a cannolo. They were delicious. The lady who served us was very friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. If you're passing through, a stop is a must!

30/05/2025: Very nice hotel with very friendly staff and very good food. It's a long way from downtown and you can't really walk to the train station either. 50 euro each way to go downtown

30/05/2025: Transavia return flight canceled due to an air traffic controller strike. We were given last-minute notice, otherwise it's no fun. After an idyllic romantic week in Rome, we found ourselves reunited with about twenty other French people in the same predicament. Transavia paid for each room and meals. Located on the 3rd floor, with a view of Rome (from a distance, but the view is still there), the room was of a high standard, even though it was old. I agree with the comment of someone who experienced the same situation: we felt the difference between us and the "real guests." Although the staff was lovely and the room was clean, both in terms of amenities and cleanliness, the meal, for example: industrial pasta with canned tomato sauce. It's not the hotel of the century; there's a mix of a certain luxury and the impression of a former hospital/other complex restored as a hotel. It must be said that for a hotel booked on the spur of the moment, it's pleasant and very decent, especially since the experience was free.

28/10/2025: The cake was hard and burnt, impossible to cut. The restaurant needs to modernize both its menu and the dining room. The room was deafeningly silent and had an unpleasant odor.

09/12/2025: We went to this place for a birthday. The mixed antipasto had a high percentage of truffle-based products, which wasn't specified and wasn't communicated when we asked. The pizza looked fantastic, but the dough quickly became tough. The decor was dated. Does it have potential? Definitely, but there's still work to be done!

08/12/2025: I have been coming to this place for at least 30 years maybe even more. And as always excellent, never disappoints me. I highly recommend it.

25/08/2025: The atmosphere is intimate and warm, exceptionally peaceful; despite the fairly busy road in front, we didn't hear a single car pass by. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and displays a singular passion for his craft. During dinner, he explained in detail the provenance and uniqueness of every single ingredient used in the dishes. Not being a wine expert, I took his advice and, if I could, I would have ordered two more bottles of that wine (a Palombo Bianco delle Chiaie). All this for a price so low it seems like a steal. I've already started recommending the wine shop to everyone I know and will definitely be back; it's worth it to try every dish on the menu.

25/06/2025: Stopped into this restaurant based on the reviews and so glad we did. My wife and I were the only customers inside. The owner took great care of us! He curated the wine list and offered a great recommendation! The food was excellent and the service was even better. I highly recommend stopping in here for some wonderful food and better Italian hospitality!

22/11/2025: I've been going to this place for years, the quality and price are excellent, but something has changed now, first of all the portions have decreased and the prices have increased a lot compared to before, including drinks and water (a litre of microfiltered water €3 EXCESSIVE PRICE for simple tap water) for a family of four it is almost impossible to eat in this place due to the excessive price increase.

04/12/2025: I came to eat at Campanellu from Rome, and from the first moment, the welcome was warm and authentic. Pino is truly friendly and makes you feel at home, while his daughter Domiziana proved to be very skilled and attentive: the service was courteous, fast, and the right balance between familiarity and professionalism. The ingredients are excellent: the wood-fired pizza is tasty and fragrant, but what really won me over was the meat. Everything was simply excellent—especially the chicken and the shank: tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked. The desserts also deserve praise: exquisite and well-made. The atmosphere of the restaurant is rustic and sincere, ideal for those looking for good food in a simple and authentic setting. I found the quality/price ratio to be fair, considering the generous portions and the quality of the ingredients. Bottom line: if you're looking for a place to enjoy quality meat, authentic pizza, and genuine service—with a welcoming owner and staff—Campanellu is an excellent choice. I'll gladly return and recommend it to anyone passing through. Valerio
