Pizzeria Ristorante "Anema e' Core"

17/07/2025: I recently visited this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing on multiple fronts.
Despite there being plenty of space available inside, I was asked to wait outside while my food was being prepared. This came across as unwelcoming and unnecessary, especially considering the weather conditions and the lack of clear reasoning. As a paying customer, basic courtesy and hospitality should be a given — sadly, that was lacking here.
As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The taste didn’t match the description or the hype, and nothing really stood out. For the price and presentation, I expected more in terms of flavor and overall quality.
When I asked them for their recommendations they said go out and see the menu!! (I could not read Italian)
Also I was charged 3.5 euro for a can of cola😳! and I was told if I want to drink it go outside to drink, can’t drink it inside🤷🏻♂️
Overall, the lack of respect shown in customer service and the average food make it difficult for me to recommend this place or consider returning. Hospitality matters just as much as what’s on the plate — and here, both were disappointing.
15/07/2025: The service was terribly noisy and chaotic. We waited over an hour for our food, they forgot about us. Although they apologized, it's hard to doubt their sincerity. The food was good, but after that wait we lost our appetite. In addition, the prices were higher, it was not stated anywhere that they also charge for a cover. I do not recommend

01/05/2025: Un posto molto carino nel cuore pulsante di Cavana, per cui l'atmosfera è vivace e frizzante. Il personale è sottoposto al grosso afflusso turistico, ma nonostante ciò, ieri abbiamo trovato un giovane cameriere disponibile e simpaticissimo, pronto alla battuta. Consiglio di sedersi nel piacevole dehors per un tipico "capo in b" (€ 2,50 + dragée di cioccolata), accompagnato da un baby donut rosa (€ 1,30). Ho molto apprezzato che abbiano disponibilità di dolcetti in formato "mini", qualcosa che non tutti i bar propongono. Pertanto, esperienza positiva!
01/05/2025: A place like many in Trieste with average coffee and croissants. What makes this place special is the attitude of the staff. 1. I go in and say "good morning" - no response 2. I wait at the counter to order a coffee, there are 7 waiters but no one even turns their head while the barman is chatting with his acquaintances. It's not the first time a situation like this has happened. But it doesn't matter, does it? Both customers and tourists are always there given the central location. If a customer never comes back, nothing changes. Really sad.

28/07/2025: Abbiamo cenato con amici, vasta scelta di piatti, ottima la qualità dei salumi, carme ottima e ben preparata, personale gentile e prezzi adeguato alla qualità. Bella location immersa del verde e tranquillità. Veramente bravi. Ci torneremo di sicuro.
13/07/2025: Il posto è molto bello ma la cucina da incubo, organizzati malissimo, abbiamo aspettato 2 ore per ricevere le portate, che sono arrivate sbagliate (hanno consegnato i secondi al posto dei primi), il pollo era crudo e gocciolava il sangue, camerieri scortesi. Mai più!!

14/05/2025: The place is nice near the Maggiore hospital. I wanted to eat a sandwich with tongue so we stopped here.
Unfortunately the tongue was hard and a good part of it had nerves (not being very cooked they remained hard instead of melting). We reported the problem...and the answer was that another customer had also had it and had not complained!!!!
I have eaten tongue in many other places here in Trieste and I have to say that here they really don't know how to make it. Maybe they will be good on the rest...I hope so!!

16/07/2025: El personal no está contento o servicial. Visité el restaurante hoy, y todo se sentía demasiado para ser servido. La experiencia de visitar fue arruinada por la actitud del personal y no podía ser molestado con el servicio. Se pidieron bebidas extras y nunca aparecieron. Los clientes eran rechazados selectivamente y no se les permitía sentarse fuera. No volvería a visitarte.
Como nota positiva la comida era encantadora. El personal de camarera no está haciendo el negocio ninguna justificación. Los clientes son un inconveniente
14/07/2025: La pizza era buena, pero el servicio era terrible - camarero muy desagradable, trajeron 1 L de vino en lugar de 1/2 , a pesar de que especifiqué 3 veces quiero 1/2 el litro, e incluso fue grosero que no hay necesidad de repetir, lo consigue. Al final nos cobraron 3 desiertos que no comimos - 19 € más. Pagué con tarjeta y me devolvieron 19 € en efectivo sin ningún problema, lo que significa que esta es una práctica estándar.

22/08/2025: I've seen the rise and fall of this establishment! Once one of the best ice cream parlors in my city, the service is currently modest, to say the least, and that's another compliment. They don't even offer table service anymore, not to mention the ice creams 🧐which were once the flagship. It's a shame to say these things, but that's the reality 🤔

05/08/2025: We come to this wonderful place very often for dinner and parties, as both the panoramic terrace and the interior are truly delightful. Livio and Diego are special people who make you feel at home with their warmth and authentic dishes.

There are really few words to describe the professionalism, seriousness and commitment that the owner puts into describing and accompanying you on a culinary journey from a starred restaurant. A friendly person, who through her descriptions and especially through her products has managed to describe a passion and a story that she has cultivated, literally, for more than 35 years. Highly recommended place for price, location and service which amazed more than anything. I have nothing else to say except thank you!!

11/09/2025: We were passing through Croatia and wanted to spend a few days in Italy, and I only discovered the bad reviews afterward, and I really don't understand them.
Our room was clean, tidy, quiet, and the air conditioning worked perfectly and quietly. Sure, the breakfast was a bit lacking in choice, but I think that's normal in Italy because they don't have a very "German" breakfast; that's just the culture.
For the price, I think it's good.
We immediately said we didn't need a parking space because the hotel also has a back entrance by the bar, and there are plenty of free parking spaces there.
07/09/2025: Bad….Bad…. At least in my room, there are no drawers or a decent closet, the bathroom smells of urine/sewer, the shower is large but the glass isn't enough to separate it from the rest of the bathroom, so every time you shower you have to be careful not to flood the rest of the bathroom, furthermore there are no shelves, I conclude by saying that it is recommended ONLY if you want to have a roof over your head.

We actually wanted to spend a lovely last evening of our vacation here. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, as the food was really bad despite the hefty price tag. When we complained, the staff were unsympathetic. We ate fried seafood (not crispy, without sauce, and the polenta side dish was tasteless) and pasta with shrimp and zucchini (described as "fresh" pasta – certainly not accurate, and overcooked; a whopping 4 shrimp (!) and mushy zucchini), drank two non-alcoholic Spritzers and an espresso, and paid €75 for it.
The only plus point: The setting is really nice by the water, right behind a small harbor. Unfortunately, we didn't see the Google reviews until after our meal... 2.8 stars is actually too high! Edit: After reading some reviews, we double-checked the bill: We – like many others – were overcharged by about €15!!!
