06/12/2025: The atmosphere is dated; we left smelling like cooking. The location is stellar, but inside, it feels like a step back in time to the '70s. As for the food, I have to say the starters and main courses were good, and the side dishes were awful... A stringy braised beef and the potatoes "in tecia" were outrageous.

27/04/2026: The food is high-quality, nothing to complain about. The peace is excellent, exquisite, and the fillet is incredibly tender.
Medium-high restaurant prices, including just a first course, a second course, two glasses of wine, water, and a coffee, are €56.
It's definitely worth a try if your budget is within your range.
The dining room is small and noisy; voices echo, leaving you feeling a bit dazed. It's best to choose a quieter evening.

01/02/2026: Passing through for work I stopped here at Rico's welcoming place, very good food and generous portions, I only ate a second course and a side dish, they brought me two steaks and charged me as if I were only paying for a second course, well, excellent, I would say I recommend it, maybe call first if they have space, very kind and helpful staff

10/05/2026: Sunday lunch. The restaurant was recently renovated. Very charming, it has plenty of tables, including outdoor seating, in a beautiful part of Trieste on the banks of the Canale Grande di Trieste and adjacent to Piazza Ponterosso. Inside, the atmosphere is that of an authentic South Tyrolean beer hall. The dishes are well-presented, plentiful, and at least the ones we tried were very good. The prices are overall reasonable. The menu is very varied; I'd call it a place for everyone.
02/05/2026: Carbonara was good - but the cons overweight! I know how stressful it can be working in a restaurant & I think they were understaffed, but waiting more than 30 minutes for someone to take you order is not alright - and to top it off they forgot the other dish, a pizza!! Even tough we told them multiple times it took them again over half an hour to finally bring it.

25/04/2026: Spectacular food, we ate wonderfully. The staff were very welcoming and kind, they made us feel at home and as if we were in Naples. The atmosphere was also very beautiful. I will definitely be back, especially because, as I said, I ate wonderfully. Truly well done.

05/01/2026: We ate it for lunch, which was served as a set menu, but when we got the bill, we were surprised. The à la carte menu for four people cost €110, without coffee, and one of us only ate the main course. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Second courses: 3 small pieces of goulash, 1 slice of polenta, and on the same plate, 1 tablespoon of potatoes in tecia. The pork chop was thin and tough. The only thing that was worth saving was the lasagna.

The restaurant displays symbols and images that openly recall fascism—a deeply inappropriate and offensive choice, as well as contrary to democratic values.
The staff, mostly inexperienced seasonal workers, does their best but is clearly left without adequate guidance.
In summer, the heat and humidity inside make it stifling, while outside you're literally beset by mosquitoes.
The food quality is questionable, and the prices are average but not justified.
I don't recommend this place, both for its atmosphere and the message it conveys.
06/10/2025: This restaurant also offers a workers' lunch menu at reasonable prices.
Very fast service, perfect for those looking for a quick meal without wasting too much time.
Also open on Mondays for lunch.
Advance reservations recommended. Often full.
