15/04/2026: Honestly, the place isn't bad, and the service is good. The only problem, however, is very serious: from what I saw, HACCP standards don't seem to be followed. I ordered a pizza with burrata, and unfortunately, it was clearly spoiled. I mention this because, after eating less than half of it, I immediately felt sick and vomited it all. This place urgently needs a complete overhaul of its hygiene system. From my point of view, it's not currently a suitable place to serve customers in these conditions. Furthermore, I noticed that the pizza chefs don't wash their hands regularly, don't wear gloves, and touch various objects without any attention to hygiene. Honestly, as far as the food goes, it was a terrible experience.

07/03/2026: Ordered three pizzas, with a long wait of an hour and a half! They arrived...burnt on top and raw on the bottom! All they needed was a few more minutes in the oven!

04/05/2026: My friends and I had a terrible experience. After the Trieste marathon, we decided to go to 040 for brunch. We tried to book online, but the button didn't work. We went straight to the restaurant and asked if they could give us a table for four of us. The waitress was visibly annoyed, clearly overwhelmed by the large number of customers and tables to manage. I understand this because I've worked in restaurants myself, but kindness is mandatory, even in stressful times. She told us there wasn't a list and that we had to wait for the first few people to leave. Luckily, it didn't take long and we were able to sit down. The same waitress took our orders after a while, but only after taking and confirming them did she tell us there was a long wait. Customers should be notified before taking their orders, not after. But we steeled ourselves with patience and waited. After an event with so many customers, it's normal to wait a while. But 20 minutes passed, then 40, then an hour, and then almost an hour and a quarter. For 3 sandwiches, 2 fries, and 1 poke. Meanwhile, 3 out of four placemats arrive because they "ran out." At that point, we ask another waitress what's going on, certain that customers who arrived after us had already received their orders. She tells us she'll check. After another 10 minutes, the order arrives. First, 2 sandwiches and poke, 5 minutes later, another sandwich. After another 10 minutes, the 2 fries. We eat in small portions. A total of 2 hours of waiting. The food quality is adequate. Nothing particularly bad about the sandwiches, but the fries could have been better, at 6 euros each. When the guy clearing the table asks us how it went, we explain the whole situation, and he kindly listens and apologizes. In these cases, the manager does something, even a small gesture to reassure the customer, even offering a coffee, but nothing. We pay more than 90 euros for 4 of us, with a decidedly high markup on fries and a bottle of Coke. Sandwiches and poke cost around €15 each. A terrible experience. Having worked in the industry, I suspect that, given the marathon, they clearly tried to increase the number of seats as much as possible, but they didn't have the capacity to manage them. Hence the frustration of the waiters and the endless wait times in the kitchen. In my experience, on event days, we REMOVED seats to keep the volume manageable, not the other way around. It's a shame given the beautiful location, but we won't be returning.

01/05/2026: A very, very nice place, in an excellent location overlooking the Grand Canal and with an outdoor terrace. It offers an interesting selection of dishes, some quite original. I tried the salmon on sautéed rice with onion, cabbage, and cherry tomatoes, and then crispy chicken with potatoes and spicy sauce. Both dishes were excellent and the portions generous. Excellent beer, friendly and courteous staff. Prompt service, thanks especially to the very kind Lorena, who is truly omnipresent and tireless. Prices aren't exactly "social" (hence the one star reduction), but overall a good experience. I'll be back and recommend it.

12/04/2026: The restaurant has moved to the canal. The interior is significantly smaller, but the pizza is still good. Apparently, it's the only pizzeria in Trieste that serves karmut instead of wheat. The service is noticeably worse than before. However, the music from the neighboring restaurant is unbearable. A DJ playing at lunchtime on a Sunday, making a terrible racket. It completely ruins any desire to eat. Next time, I'll go somewhere else.

08/04/2026: A very varied menu with local specialties. Fast service and friendly staff. The dishes are generous and quite good. The restaurant is on the canal; it's pleasant to enjoy the tables on the terrace.

20/01/2026: Christmas lunch, à la carte menu, everything excellent, attentive and friendly service, quaint but small venue, best to book. Adequate private parking is available. Also great for snacks (the cold cuts are good). Prices are reasonable for Christmas Day. Recommended.

12/12/2025: It is always a pleasure to enter the Trattoria, the manager is always very efficient, I like the place very much, I have tried the cuisine on many occasions, even important ceremonies.

28/12/2025: Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this place. The meatballs were poor quality, and the place needs an extractor fan because the smell inside was unpleasant. A friendly atmosphere, however, isn't enough... Too bad.
