14/01/2026: Excellent service and friendly staff. The food is classic, but I noticed some nice dishes and gourmet sandwiches at the nearby tables, which I'll try next time. It's a typical pub, a great place to eat in the neighborhood. It's a shame someone was smoking. Highly recommended.

11/12/2025: The atmosphere is classic, typical of a Carso tavern. A real gem is the soundproofing, which prevents annoying echoes when the room is full. In the summer, there's a lovely, cool outdoor area. The dishes are excellent, and you have to try them all.
10/12/2025: Excellent trattoria in Malchina serving traditional local cuisine. The fusi, orzotto, and lubjanska pasta are particularly popular. The atmosphere is simple and the service is efficient. Recommended.

07/01/2026: We showed up alone just before the holidays without a reservation and in fact they were completely booked, despite this they carved out a table for 5 for us and were very kind, with quick service and superb pizzas!

11/01/2026: Saturday lunch, my husband and I: he had pizza, I had tuna steak and grilled vegetables. The pizza arrived, and twenty minutes later the grilled vegetables (two of them, badly presented, on a dessert plate...). After another 10 minutes, waiting for the tuna, we left and were only charged for what we had actually consumed. In short: lots of marketing, the place looks good. The service, obviously, was terrible. I can't comment on the food, as I didn't eat anything... I won't be back!

08/12/2025: Caffé degli Specchi (specchi means mirrors:) is in the biggest/main square (piazza Unita) of Trieste. You can have a wonderful breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, evening drink or dinner there. The view, if you sit outside, is extraordinarily 💛 They have a large selection of sweets/desserts. Things could be expensive but worth it. But there is a twist - if you get a "coffee al banco", it costs 1 € that is the cheapest in the city. Not only that, you get a free hot chocolate that makes a heaven on Earth 💝 Must go place 😊
08/12/2025: A city institution, worth a try. Excellent chocolate and top-notch service. Located right on Piazza Unita d'Italia... Spectacular.

10/01/2026: Saturday night, the place wasn't full... 1 hour and a quarter to receive an obscene sandwich costing 15 euros (not even chips) and a plate of pasta that tasted like wine... Avoid it, better to go to Burger King! Obviously the dishes don't arrive together! Crazy, never again.
10/01/2026: Mediocre food, very nice place, terrible service, 1 hour and 5 minutes wait plus 2 reminders to the staff to bring us a burger and a plate of pasta. Not recommended!

13/01/2026: Unfortunately, things went badly for me. I ordered a pasta dish with mussels. The mussels were awful, perhaps old. I tried four, but they were all inedible. I notified the lady serving the tables, who reported it to the kitchen.
I paid the full bill as requested.
My impression: high prices for tourists. Maybe I'm too used to dealing with cruise companies.
02/01/2026: Excellent cuisine, very friendly service. Despite the winter weather, we felt very comfortable by the open fireplace. We would gladly return anytime!

28/12/2025: Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this place. The meatballs were poor quality, and the place needs an extractor fan because the smell inside was unpleasant.
A friendly atmosphere, however, isn't enough... Too bad.

24/07/2025: Leaving aside the fact that it's a bar and the coffee and croissants are fine, you can't pay for cigarettes with a debit card although it has one but every time it says it doesn't work, the owner is grumpy, rather than a bar to friends I would call it a bar without desire.
