12/10/2025: Not every day is sunny in the high mountains, and on that particular day, Lateis was wrapped in a gray cloak of fog. After a long walk, stepping into Pa' Krhaizar felt like entering the warm embrace of an old stone house—a sanctuary that smelled of wood and forgotten stories. Though the view of Lake Sauris, which usually spreads out from the terrace like a watercolor, was hidden behind a veil, the mere thought of it hung in the air, promising a beauty concealed behind the clouds. But in that moment, the warmth inside was more important than the vision outside. Then, that small miracle happened, the kind that stays in the heart longer than any sunlit scene. The bill for the refreshment was so small, yet you only had a large banknote. A moment of awkwardness, quickly resolved by the gentle smile of your waitress. She didn't ask for the change; she didn't fuss about the exchange. She simply waved her hand dismissively at the sixty cents that were missing from the full amount. That gesture, tiny in monetary value, was gigantic in kindness. "Let it be," the silence—and her eyes—said. Thank you, not just for the rest in that beautiful house, but for that moment of pure, unadadulterated human kindness. 16/03/2026: Unfortunately, the pizza was double-sided: Excellent flavor, very good in terms of flavor and ingredients. Poor digestibility, still in my stomach after 15 hours. Maybe Neapolitan style isn't for me. XD. It's not the first time, and it's not the first place where I've eaten pizza and had a sleepless night. Excellent service with friendly staff. Great location, appreciated background playlist with instrumental versions of hits.

The garden and grounds are delightfully peaceful, and breakfast with delicious coffee was a real pleasure. The perfect place to unwind. A good stopover on your next trip to Italy. A great base for cycling. The WiFi is perfect. We highly recommend it.

28/02/2026: This place looks like it opened yesterday, given how clean and tidy it is. It's a bit hidden (just after the intersection), halfway along the main road that leads from the first roundabout in Opicina to the highway. You almost get the feeling it's not a place in Opicina, but something landed there for a specific purpose. And in fact, the sign itself says so: Neapolitan pizza in Trieste. Two ovens. A summer terrace on the roof. Small niches and semi-outdoor terraces scattered around for those who want to eat in peace. From the towers of pizza boxes at the entrance and exit, I'd say it's one of the favorite takeout spots in Opicina. The pizzas are, indeed, a collection of fresh ingredients. Cherry tomatoes included, which undergo that brief, intense heat exposure typical of the Neapolitan style: quick preparation, a live oven, a substantial crust, slightly charred or blackened in spots. Be careful to arrive among the first in the evening: the oven must be respected. Bad luck meant the last pizza ordered was the first of the evening. Maybe the oven wasn't quite up to temperature, or maybe they were in a bit of a rush: the crust was still soft, not fully cooked. It can happen. And when it does, don't take revenge with silence and a passive-aggressive, vindictive review written from a resentful couch. Tell them right there, right away. You'll avoid a negative experience and a review for the place that perhaps isn't deserved. I know, this practice isn't popular on social media. But the pizza chef didn't learn how to make pizza on Facebook or Tinder. He didn't use an app. He put in the time and his hands. And hands can make a pizza in five minutes, if you make yourself heard and understood. If you really can't bring yourself to tell them in person, send them a WhatsApp. Maybe remember the table number. Pizza is a serious matter. In Italy. Talk about it right away.

I REGRETED it at the first bite 😭.... I should have ordered one JUST FOR MYSELF....... stratospheric tiramisu.... guys I advise you to stop and order calmly ❤️

I was also pleased with the delicious tiramisu, but especially with the crema catalana, which left a lovely lemony aroma that refreshed the mouth. The house wine was decent and good value. Fast and friendly service in a clean, simple atmosphere—all in all, a great place to return to!
