01/09/2025: One of the few restaurants that enhances its dishes by pairing them with the most suitable olive oil. Each dish and pairing is explained by the staff, who also guide you through the daily specials and the menu. High-quality ingredients, with homemade bread, pasta, and desserts. The price is fair, around €45 per person for an appetizer + olive oil tasting, two first courses, one second course, one dessert, water, and coffee.

05/09/2025: We were here for dinner yesterday. A very friendly atmosphere, fast and friendly service. And the food was exceptionally good – tagliatelle with duck ragù and vitello tonnato. The vitello tonnato was one of the best I've ever had. The house wine was also exceptionally good. Besides us, there were only locals there. Always a good sign... We'll definitely be back.

28/08/2025: It deserves 7 stars Francesca's courtesy (it feels like being at your aunt's house), good food, clean place, good selection, the bathrooms are kept in excellent condition and working, hygiene guaranteed down to the smallest detail by those who appreciate authentic things. I've been there several times and will always return. Never leave the old street for the new. Trendy places are beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside... but that's another story... Maman

18/06/2025: I was there this morning, the brioche was very good but I was really shocked by the rudeness of the girl who replaces Cristina, I had already had the opportunity to see it and I had also heard about it. I basically went to pay and she asked me if I paid for everything, I told her yes, she gave me the bill and when I went out I checked and saw that she had added to the bill the 2 cappuccinos that 5 minutes before a friend of ours had gone to pay for himself, I went back in, I asked her if she remembered this person because I didn't want her to think I was ripping her off, she didn't even listen to me, she got angry saying that I was the one who had to tell her what we had and that she didn't know if they had paid for the cappuccinos because there were 100 of us, actually there were 7 of us! I described the gentleman to her but she talked over me! There weren't many people and she remembered all our drinks very well but not that they had paid for 2 cappuccinos 5 minutes before??? Come on! And in any case a little calm and good manners wouldn't hurt!

10/09/2025: My friends, I've never felt so good in such a truly rustic place, where you feel like you're living with family. Delicious food. Perfect service. And more than good prices, especially for the authentic, top-quality products. I come here every day, whenever I can. There's a huge shelf of books; you can bring your own and take one if you want. An incredible place that still stands thanks to these wonderful people. I love you, Silvia.

10/09/2025: Very nice atmosphere and especially the food! We came across this place with a friend and we couldn't praise the food, the service and the overall atmosphere! Although the menu is not very extensive, you will definitely find something to your liking and you won't be disappointed! I had pasta with nut pesto, wine and water and coffee, my friend pasta with tomatoes and eggplant. Everything was very good, deliciously seasoned. The owner is very nice and will prepare your food practically right in front of you in no time. And most importantly, the price is really nice. For an excellent lunch for 2, drinks and coffee, we paid half of what we would have paid in another restaurant with worse service and food. If you're passing by, definitely consider visiting!

24/07/2025: Restaurant with easy parking in a suburban neighborhood. Typical but standard lunches with the option of some local specialties... and some new additions. Service is prompt. Excellent product quality. For Trieste, an excellent alternative to... the city center! Prices... could use a bit of a shake.

26/07/2025: We recently had lunch at this restaurant and were generally satisfied 👍. Arriving around 12:00 🕛 after having spotted the restaurant by car 🚘, we asked if we could sit down; at that point we were asked if we preferred a veranda or a completely outdoor setting. Opting for the latter, we then waited for a table to be prepared for us next to those already reserved 📞. Browsing the menu 📋, we immediately noted the deliciousness of the various options, finally choosing two second courses (lamb chops on mint and pea puree and cod in squid ink with green asparagus) accompanied by two portions of chips 🍟. To complete the order, we also ordered a small beer 🍺, a 0.75-liter bottle of sparkling water 💧, and a glass of Cabernet Franc 🍷, followed by two coffees ☕. Everything was absolutely tasty 😋 and well-cooked, and the choreography of the dishes was also excellent 👌. The staff were very kind and friendly, from the manager 🧑🏻 who welcomed us to the various girls 👩🏻👩🏼 who then served us. However, I must make a comment regarding the wait times and, more generally, the organizational aspect: if, initially, everything went well, then something stopped working... we waited over half an hour for the coffees, while the desserts 🍰, despite repeated requests, never even arrived. Not that it was the end of the world, in fact the rating remains largely positive 👍, however I think it's fair to point it out; it should also be said that the place was full anyway and this may have caught the staff a bit off guard. I'm also aware of the current difficulties (including psychological ones) of a category, that of restaurateurs, against which our illegitimate government has declared an unjustified and intolerable all-out war; therefore, I fully support this and, nevertheless, wish the business a good restart. Prices are perhaps slightly higher than average but in any case fair in relation to the quality. Bathrooms 🚾 clean and tidy 🚽🧻. Parking area 🅿️ not huge but still adequate. The surrounding rural setting is pleasant even though the structure faces the main road 🛣 connecting Aquileia and Grado. Overall, we had a good time, so I RECOMMEND IT 👍. 06/09/2025: Unfortunately, three years after my last visit and excellent review, I've had to change my mind. We came for lunch on a Saturday without a reservation. Maybe it was a mistake, but it doesn't justify waiting 45 minutes for a plate of gnocchi, shared between two people, and receiving the side dish before the main course (which we waited over half an hour for). Not to mention the dessert, which we waited another twenty minutes, only to be told, in response to our legitimate complaint, that it was in the oven and would take time. Strange, because the same dessert arrived at the next table well before us, even though people had arrived after us. Sorry. It must have been a busy day, but it can't be the customer's problem. We'll find other places in the area.

13/10/2025: I´m a bit disappointed, especially after reading the other reviews. The location was really nice and also the wine was quite pleasant. I almost never give bad reviews but the two guys working there at that night just ignored us. We were sitting right in front of the bar and one of them was just chatting with other customers. I´m patient and I understand if they have stress but a simple, we will be there in a minute would´ve been nice. After around 7-8 min we were able to order. My partner finished his wine almost 10 min before me and was sitting in front of the empty glass, ready to order another one, but no one cared, although it wasn´t too busy. We didn´t feel welcome, it makes me sad, I never had that in Italy, not sure if we did something wrong.

14/09/2025: The BigBen Pub in Barcola is truly a guarantee! 🔝 The cockerel is simply spectacular, perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The beer is always perfectly cold, perfect to accompany dinner. 🍗🍺 The staff is fantastic: kind, helpful, and always with a smile that makes you feel at home. And the owner is a wonderful person, welcoming and friendly, always ready to chat with customers. 👏 A place that exudes warmth and conviviality: it's a pleasure to return every time. 11/10/2025: Truly a splendid place, a Friulian inn-style, completely made of stone, elegantly furnished with excellent cuisine, a wide selection of wines, and FANTASTIC service. They also offer parking and rooms. I go there every time I'm in Friuli and I'm always extremely satisfied. The icing on the cake is Mrs. Tiziana (the dining room manager), who practically pampers and spoils all her guests. Highly, highly recommended.
