19/11/2025: "Small but welcoming place; the portions are really generous. The appetizer, a platter of cured meats and cheeses, was supposed to be for two people, but it would have been more than enough for four. The first course, my companion's linguine with lobster, was good but the lobster was overcooked in his opinion, my stuffed gnocchi were also quite good. Special mention for the dessert: the vanilla log covered in chocolate and filled with salted caramel was excellent, I would have gladly had seconds. Recommended place also for its central location, close to the excavations, in front of the train station, and with paid parking on the other side of the square, very convenient.

15/11/2025: The restaurant left a very pleasant impression. The prices are a little higher than in other restaurants, but the quality, taste, and presentation of the dishes are excellent. The service is very good. The waiters are very attentive and polite. The atmosphere is very pleasant. We received two gifts from the chef: a fish appetizer and a chocolate dessert.

05/09/2025: We were recommended by a girl we met on the beach; she couldn't have given us a better recommendation for dinner at this beautiful, warm, and extremely well-run restaurant. We ordered the delicious house appetizers, the flavorful cavatelli, and the melt-in-your-mouth pancetta cotta CBT, not to mention the exquisite eggplant parmigiana. We were also very pleased with the kindness of the staff, who managed to make you feel at home with a professional and formal approach. The best dinner of a holiday in Cilento.

05/09/2025: I've been there for both lunch and dinner. The food quality is excellent, both in terms of the ingredients used and the preparation. The wine list is more than good, and the staff is courteous and knowledgeable. The prices are clearly in line with the quality of the food. The wine markup is reasonable.

06/11/2025: We went here due to Instagram and good reviews about fried pizza. We arrived around 2pm. Finding the entrance was pretty confusing. You don't see a clear, this is an entrance door, there was a take out area for this place so we were told to enter the next door where the door and window were both frosted glass so you can't see inside. The door is sliding door. Thought it was a residential place... No sign of the restaurant banner except the top banner. We were seated promptly, not many people, it's just one tiny space. The staff recommended the fried pizza it was good! If you want to try fried pizza I would recommend this place. Food came in pretty quickly. The staff wasn't friendly, when we tried to call his attention, he kind of ignored us, then when he was close, he didn't even look at us and just did this wait gesture 🫸 with his hand. Kind of rude. But we experience this at other restaurants so I guess it's an Italian thing? Maybe cause we don't have to pay tip like in the US. But overall food was good. Reasonable. Close to the train station.

18/11/2025: Here, moments of meditation, soft lighting, aromas, and music inspired by ancient Rome make everything even more enchanting. I highly recommend it.

18/11/2025: I went to this establishment with my girlfriend, sister and brother-in-law after our visit to the ruins of Pompeii in October. The food and charming atmosphere were really great. We booked a month before hand not knowing what to expect, but found ourselves enjoying every bit of it. I like that the servers were adamant for everyone to get dressed up into characters of the time period. Their efforts really made it a memorable dining experience. The 1st-century decor was beautiful and the food was delicious! I recommend the shank! Get it! The whole staff were super friendly and attentive. It was a nice end to the evening. We ended up staying pretty late for a Sunday and found ourselves basically stranded in Pompeii. The taxi station was empty and we found out that we had difficulty finding a cab ride back to Napoli where we were staying. I believe the gentleman working that night was looking out for us, because we went back to ask if he could help us book a cab and he basically asked his friend to drive us back! Unbelievable! The hospitality of this man and his friend, if his name was Augustine I don’t remember, was so appreciated. It was kind of emotional and humbling moment. I really reconnected with my roots on this trip and It was quite validating to see southern Italian hospitality firsthand. I will forever remember this restaurant, not just because it had good food, but the people who work there make it so special.

01/12/2025: I highly recommend it. Welcoming and artistic atmosphere. We were two couples and we had the Genoese frittatina (excellent), pizza (excellent), and a large Montanara al pomodoro (superb). The selection of craft beers was also excellent. The staff was extremely courteous; Alessandra served us and, thanks also to her smile, was excellent. Thank you.

11/10/2025: A lovely last evening in Naples. A friendly welcome and excellent service with excellent advice, a fantastic selection of food and drinks, and excellent food. Reasonable prices. One suggestion for perhaps improving things even further: a welcome from the kitchen would have been the icing on the cake. We'd love to come back 😄

14/09/2025: The place is truly beautiful: you can experience the balance between past and present, held together by good taste and an ever-appreciated, attentive touch of humanity. Villa Matilde is certainly a place not only to visit, but to return to. The food is delicious and perfectly in tune with the local area; the service is always attentive, friendly, and never intrusive. The wine is certainly high-quality and exceptional. There are many noteworthy aspects, but, above all, many that make the difference: the Chef, Alfonso; Alessia in the dining room, Miriam, with her warm attention. Special thanks to Maria Cristina and Maria Ida Avallone, who expertly maintain the legacy and perspective of a history that has undoubtedly contributed to enhancing the value and culture of Campania's winemaking.
