The setting is a fantastic blend of the tranquility of a mountain cabin and the fresh air and views of the countryside around San Donato di Ninea, whose historic center is just a short distance away. The family-run business adds a great value to the experience itself and helps you explore the local cuisine, which offers a wide variety and quality.

22/08/2025: A small restaurant on Castrovillari's main street, offering bites and bites (i.e., half portions), allowing you to sample a little of everything from the extensive menu featuring typical Calabrian products. Highly recommended, and a special mention for the "story-worthy" desserts.

05/10/2025: I attended a wedding and everyone was very nice, kind, and helpful. Plus, since the place was very welcoming and well-maintained, I decided to get a massage too, and Carmen was very good and professional! I recommend trying it.

04/10/2025: Unfortunately, our experience at Tenuta Contessa for our wedding on July 5th was disappointing in many ways, especially regarding the organization. The wedding planner did not adhere to the terms of the contract and the planning phase: several agreed-upon details were ignored or changed without notice. Furthermore, her attitude toward guests was, to say the least, inappropriate: on some occasions, she even appeared arrogant, which left a negative impression on both us and our guests. From a general organizational standpoint, the service was unprofessional and far from what was initially promised. It's a shame, because the venue has potential and the food was excellent—one of the few positive aspects of the day. I do not recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding with meticulous attention to detail, managed by truly competent staff who respect the agreements made. For the banquet alone, it could be a good choice, but if you want a professionally managed event with no surprises, I suggest considering other options.

21/09/2025: Highly recommended hotel. Private parking, easy access, clean rooms. With the window open, you can hear the sound of the river. Roberto is excellent and very friendly.

21/09/2025: Excellent starting point for Sunday morning rafting. Clean but very basic room. Excellent homemade croissants! Really worth it, even for someone like me who doesn't usually eat them.

13/09/2025: I was traveling and when I saw the sign (mi'Ndujo), it caught my eye, and out of curiosity, I decided to stop in, without anyone having told me about it or having read any reviews. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the sandwiches were delicious, so I recommend it, and when I come back, I'll definitely stop in again. 😉

18/09/2025: We had the pleasure of staying at the B&B "La Casa nella Prateria" and eating at Trattoria Zio Pierino a few years ago. It was an unforgettable memory, excellent in every way. We returned and felt the same way. We felt like family; the food was excellent, plentiful, authentic, and varied, all topped off with professionalism and attention to customer needs. We ate an appetizer filled with local specialties, exquisite tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms... and finally, a slice of homemade tiramisu, which set the tone for a wonderful evening. The B&B "La Casa nella Prateria" is a pearl in the midst of nature, rustic, furnished with attention to detail, and very clean. This morning's sunrise made it magical. Thanks to Pierino and his wonderful family 😊. You are a point of reference 👍☺️... we'll be back. Giuseppe and Teresa

11/09/2025: I don't think places like this exist anymore. Places where, upon entering, you feel embraced, and even if you're just passing through, time changes pace. Places where the flavors you savoured as a child, now faded and irreproducible memories, become real again. Places where the simplicity with which they explain the recipe is just the tip of a submerged iceberg, made up of profound dedication, ancient education, gastronomic identity, culinary knowledge, and a great deal of tenacity. Perhaps they're even lucky—they have a land that provides them with fragrant oil, flavorful vegetables, tender herbs, and abundant culture, ready to be absorbed—but they're good because they truly valorize these treasures. Stop, sit down, and let them welcome you—they're excellent. Even if, upon entering, you might not know whether it's a farmhouse that suddenly transforms into a modern tobacconist and lottery, don't worry, just to the left, after the bar, the experience begins...

04/10/2025: For a simple coffee at an outside table, I was charged €2.30: truly excessive. If the service entails such a premium, I expect at least some professionalism—not that they'd forget the sugar with the coffee and, later, the fork for dessert.

27/09/2025: The menu is delicious and the ingredients are top-quality, from Sicilian grandmother's caponata to the grand finale with sensational desserts. Aromatic and delicate cocktails (I thought I'd never drink one again, but here they succeeded!). The staff and owner are friendly, courteous, and British (and some of us were very patient, as it was our first time there). A truly unique venue, elegant and refined in every way: the decor, furnishings, and background music are perfect for spending an evening chatting with friends. A top-notch venue for top-notch guests.

09/09/2025: Comfortable place with a breathtaking view. The owner is very kind and helpful. The food is excellent, typical local dishes. The price is fair for what you eat. I recommend it if you are in the area.

07/09/2025: The restaurant is located at the entrance to town, easy to get to, and has fairly easy parking. The menu isn't extensive, but the food is excellent: appetizer, pappardelle with porcini mushrooms, and lamb for the main course. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back.

30/08/2025: Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place to stop during a hike or bike/motorcycle tour. A simple but well-maintained place, run by friendly and courteous staff. A variety of sandwiches and main dishes are available, including several vegetarian options. Great for motorbikers: you can park on the side of the road and easily keep an eye on your luggage!

Everything was good, the quality was good, we were happy with the entertainment and the food.
