31/01/2026: A true gem in the heart of Roccaraso! If you're looking for the true essence of Abruzzo cuisine, La Capannina is an absolute must. We were welcomed with an old-world warmth and professionalism: the staff is exquisitely kind, always attentive to every detail and capable of making you feel at home from the first moment. But let's move on to the highlight: the food. * The house antipasto is a triumph of local flavors: a lavish platter of local cured meats, quality cheeses (the fresh ricotta is sublime!), artisanal pickled vegetables, and incredibly flavorful sautéed mushrooms. * The first courses are pure poetry. We tried a fresh pasta with incredibly creamy porcini mushroom cream, a dish that exudes mountain flavors and tradition. * The meat, cooked to perfection, confirms the high quality of the ingredients used. Even the simplest dishes, like the hamburger and fries, exude an authentic, captivating flavor. * The atmosphere is rustic and welcoming, as you'd expect from a high-end retreat in Roccaraso. Excellent value for the quality offered. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back to indulge in the flavors of Abruzzo again.

01/03/2026: The daily menu was awful; the pasta was raw and tasteless, just like everything else. We ordered two reasonably priced first courses outside the menu. The service was rushed; the gentleman who took our order wasn't very friendly. We definitely won't be returning.

I ate their first arrosticini in their sandwich shop because the restaurant wasn't open... and since then, their products have remained unparalleled in their deliciousness. Every time I'm in the area, I stop there to eat...

18/03/2026: We went for a lunch break, and it was more for them than for us. They took a long time to take an order, 45 minutes to bring me some miserable fried pizzas, and even longer for a tagliata, a chicken, and 6 arrosticini. The chicken arrived first, followed by the tagliata 10 minutes later. We also had fries, which never arrived. Only when we were about to leave, after nothing had arrived for a while, a waitress, quite annoyed, blurted out, "They're cooking now, they're yours." My dessert arrived before the fries, and in the meantime, they put them in a little box and had them taken home... madness... Everything was a wait. The tagliata knife couldn't even cut air. Everything was awful, especially the staff!
18/03/2026: Business lunch for two. Despite the restaurant having only a few tables occupied, the wait was endless. It took 45 minutes for our dishes to be delivered at different times, leaving us to eat lunch alone (one looks while the other eats!). The fries never arrived. After finishing our main courses 15 minutes earlier, we called the staff to let them know we didn't want them anymore, but they told us they were already cooking. They brought them to us to take away! To make up for it, they offered us a "Nonno Carlo" dessert consisting of homemade cantuccini and ratafia. But the cookies didn't have almonds, as I expected. Very disappointing in every way. High prices and poor food. A series of avoidable mistakes that make me not recommend this place.

01/04/2026: Francavilla al Mare's historic butcher shop is a go-to for porchetta. A wide selection of fresh meats, cheeses, olive oil, and cured meats. Ample outdoor parking. Accessible for those with limited mobility. Attentive, polite, friendly, fast, capable, and knowledgeable staff. Bright and clean environment.

26/01/2026: A farm with a simple and welcoming restaurant where you can also choose from a freshwater menu; the trout is the best I've eaten in the area. It's definitely a place you'll want to return to, and so I'll be back as soon as I can!

03/07/2025: Went to this restaurant at 10pm, traveled up two flights of stairs and this place is either under construction or non-existent... There was no music, no sounds, no tables, no people, no anything. Nothing existed but a rug leading to the next level on the stairs.
27/04/2025: (03/25) Dopo aver sbirciato tra le varie opzioni di consegna, ho capito che il cibo a domicilio di questo posto era un po’ come un film di Hollywood: promesso bene, ma finisce spesso con qualche scena mancata. Piatti buoni? Sì, ma alle volte con ingredienti/aggiunte pagate, mancanti o con una versione che sembrava uscita da un’altra stagione. La sorpresa più grande? La costante sensazione che, anche ordinando lo stesso piatto due volte, non ti trovavi mai davanti allo stesso identico capolavoro. Ragion per cui non ho ordinato più. Così eccomi lì, sotto il consiglio della mia compagna, ad entrare in un locale che ti accoglie con vibes da pub di quartiere, dove le luci sono soft e non ti fanno sembrare di stare in una sala di radioterapia. Spazi ampi, qui si può respirare, non devi per forza condividere il tavolo con il vicino. La disposizione è fatta bene, e la sensazione è quella di essere in un posto dove si può parlare senza urlare, ma anche godersi il silenzio se si preferisce. Il menù? Un parco giochi di possibilità. Piatti invitanti e porzioni che a volte ti fanno dire "Ok, può andare, mi devo accontentare", altre volte "Hmm, potevano farla un po' più abbondante". E qui quando si è in gruppo ti vien da dire: perché lui lo ha più grosso? (No doppi sensi) Ha anche più patatine? Forse il mio ha un tocco di mistero che ancora devo scoprire? Le patatine, sì, sono poche. Non so se scelgono in base a preferenze su chi darne di più. La qualità? Più o meno buona, senza troppi fronzoli: alcuni piatti sono una scoperta, altri un po' sotto le aspettative. Si ha quell'impressione di mancanza di qualcosa, come un film senza il colpo di scena finale. Ma ci tornerò sicuramente, perché a parte tutto l'atmosfera che si respira con gli ampi spazi è piacevole.

26/02/2026: Beautiful location and good food, but few vegetarian options. The service is mediocre and needs improvement, and the owner is truly unfriendly. We booked for lunch with a two-and-a-half-year-old, and when we arrived, there wasn't even a high chair available. When we asked for parmesan cheese to put on the polenta with the sauce, the hostess replied irritably, "We don't use that here." During service, the staff spilled water on the table and didn't even bother to mop it up. We asked for two bitters and were charged for them—nothing wrong with that, except that other customers were offered them!
07/02/2026: Piano B is a truly delightful discovery in the heart of Rocca di Cambio. This bistro perfectly blends a traditional mountain atmosphere with a modern, refined style, creating a warm, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere. The decor features natural materials like wood, the lighting is soft, and the atmosphere is intimate and well-organized, just as the photos on social media demonstrate. The location is excellent, central, and extremely convenient for those visiting the area, even first-time visitors. As for the food, we ordered: • a classic beef tartare, meaning raw meat, extremely fresh and of excellent quality, with well-balanced flavors • a portion of classic fries, crispy and well-fried • polenta with mushrooms, served hot and flavorful (we chose not to add truffle for personal taste) • lentils and potatoes, off the menu, a simple yet authentic dish, reminiscent of traditional local cuisine • a scamorza cheese melted with duck speck, truly excellent, tasty, and well-balanced To accompany our meal, we ordered a bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, expertly recommended by the staff. The wine was discounted, as was the final bill: €74, rounded up to €70. At the end of the meal, a further gesture of great hospitality: we were offered two grappas, a detail that is always appreciated and leaves an even better memory of the experience. A special mention goes to waiter Gabriele, who served us with great attention and professionalism. He was truly skilled at recommending what was truly worth trying, guiding us through both on- and off-menu dishes with sincerity and expertise, without ever being intrusive. This is a significant added value, especially for those unfamiliar with the local cuisine. Seating is limited, so reservations are strongly recommended on weekends and holidays. The only small point that could be improved is the menu, which offers limited choices. In my opinion, expanding it by adding new options, without removing existing ones, would make the offering even more comprehensive. Overall, it was a very positive experience in every way: quality ingredients, well-executed dishes, pleasant atmosphere, excellent location, and excellent value. A well-deserved five stars, we'll definitely be back.

03/11/2025: I called on October 23rd to reserve a table for Sunday, November 2nd. They told me they were open and would reserve a table for me. I don't remember if they asked for my contact information. Yesterday I showed up outside the restaurant. It was closed like it never existed. I was left without a table in a city that wasn't my own. I tried calling, but obviously, since it's a landline, no one answered. What's the point of accepting fake reservations?? Or not bothering to let them know?? Shame!!!!

I give the pizza a 10. 5-star service, impeccable waitresses, attentive to what was happening in the dining room and ready to answer any request very quickly. 5-star atmosphere, but that's nothing new because Ristofficina is a great place to be whether you're alone, as a couple, for a business dinner, or with children in tow. The price is very fair. After a day at work, we at ELETTRO wanted to eat something good, and in a welcoming place, we had a great time at Ristofficina. Thank you all. Highly recommended.
17/12/2025: Very poor service, cold food, then at the end a member of staff went berserk with colleagues in the presence of families with children, depressing!

21/12/2025: Hiroshima mon amour, with its dishes, introduces you to Japanese culture through new flavors and carefully selected ingredients. It's also wonderful to discover the union of Japanese and Italian products, blending in an explosion of flavors and colors. It's a sensory experience I recommend to everyone. The courtesy of the staff and their kindness in providing explanations and even recommending wines is invaluable. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, and it's exactly what you expect when entering this culinary world, where nothing is left to chance, but everything is carefully considered and balanced, and everything is governed by the serenity of Japanese culture. I thank Hiroshima mon amour for taking me on this journey of flavors to a distant land.

29/03/2026: The place is noisy, unfortunately, and also cold (temperature). Very classic. The appetizer was good, but considering the price and the space, it was a bit cramped. Tagliatelle were excellent and plentiful. The scamorza cheese was also good. Park on the street if you can find it, otherwise on a bend 200 meters away.
17/03/2026: Hidden among the winding, silent folds of the Abruzzo mountains are sometimes restaurants capable of expressing the region with sincerity and in their own unique way. This is the case with Il Brigante Maino, a rustic restaurant that combines the atmosphere of a mountain hut with the domestic warmth of a family home, creating a casual yet authentic atmosphere. The culinary offerings range from the cornerstones of Abruzzo tradition to more diverse preparations, while maintaining a focus on raw ingredients and their most authentic expression. I sampled the ever-present arrosticini, a true icon of Abruzzo's gastronomic culture. The cooking was well-balanced: the slightly caramelized exterior gave way to juicy, flavorful meat. The roe deer ragù dish was particularly convincing, with the fresh pasta demonstrating excellent cooking resistance and a porous texture capable of absorbing the sauce. The intense yet balanced ragù enhanced the meat's bold character without being overpowering, offering an overall harmonious and satisfying result. The only element that partially dampened the overall harmony was the service, which was rather slow that day. Nothing that compromised the quality of the gastronomic experience. Overall, Il Brigante Maino proved to be a restaurant capable of authentically interpreting Abruzzo's culinary heritage, offering solid dishes, authentic flavors, and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and enjoy the mountain air.
