27/02/2026: Some say: come on, eat piadina in Abruzzo!! But no, come and eat this piadina because it's made to order, rolled out, cooked, and filled on the spot, and you can taste it right away. Tasty and fragrant, very light and thin. Good, good, good. Very friendly husband and wife team, reasonable prices, and in a convenient location in Castel di Sangro. It's definitely worth coming here to alternate with the usual restaurants and typical local trattorias (all good, mind you) 🤩 Piadina and drink for less than €10 per person. Enjoy your meal!

30/07/2025: I went to Monthy's Irish Pub with high expectations, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. The place is small and noisy, more focused on live music than quality service. The staff, while friendly, were inattentive, and service was slow. The food was tasteless and overpriced, with a beer selection that didn't live up to expectations. The price doesn't justify the quality. I won't be returning, nor do I recommend it.
31/05/2025: We ate caccio pepe fries, a double burger, and tried arrosticini at friends' restaurants. The quality of the ingredients was top-notch, the products were tasty, and the quantities were satisfying.

17/04/2026: It’s a great place for a stopover on the route from Vasto to Ortona. We had a delicious meal (panini and salad) and were kindly assisted by both the staff and the owner. The owner was very helpful when it turned out the bike battery was empty and even charged the bike for us.
29/12/2025: Eating with this view was indescribable. I highly recommend a break here.

29/03/2026: The place is noisy, unfortunately, and also cold (temperature). Very classic. The appetizer was good, but considering the price and the space, it was a bit cramped. Tagliatelle were excellent and plentiful. The scamorza cheese was also good. Park on the street if you can find it, otherwise on a bend 200 meters away.
17/03/2026: Hidden among the winding, silent folds of the Abruzzo mountains are sometimes restaurants capable of expressing the region with sincerity and in their own unique way. This is the case with Il Brigante Maino, a rustic restaurant that combines the atmosphere of a mountain hut with the domestic warmth of a family home, creating a casual yet authentic atmosphere. The culinary offerings range from the cornerstones of Abruzzo tradition to more diverse preparations, while maintaining a focus on raw ingredients and their most authentic expression. I sampled the ever-present arrosticini, a true icon of Abruzzo's gastronomic culture. The cooking was well-balanced: the slightly caramelized exterior gave way to juicy, flavorful meat. The roe deer ragù dish was particularly convincing, with the fresh pasta demonstrating excellent cooking resistance and a porous texture capable of absorbing the sauce. The intense yet balanced ragù enhanced the meat's bold character without being overpowering, offering an overall harmonious and satisfying result. The only element that partially dampened the overall harmony was the service, which was rather slow that day. Nothing that compromised the quality of the gastronomic experience. Overall, Il Brigante Maino proved to be a restaurant capable of authentically interpreting Abruzzo's culinary heritage, offering solid dishes, authentic flavors, and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and enjoy the mountain air.

It's also wonderful to discover the union of Japanese and Italian products, blending in an explosion of flavors and colors. It's a sensory experience I recommend to everyone. The courtesy of the staff and their kindness in providing explanations and even recommending wines is invaluable. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, and it's exactly what you expect when entering this culinary world, where nothing is left to chance, but everything is carefully considered and balanced, and everything is governed by the serenity of Japanese culture. I thank Hiroshima mon amour for taking me on this journey of flavors to a distant land.

21/03/2026: Despite the beautiful location, we did not find the same satisfaction in the quality of the dishes and the presence of fresh fish. Many dishes were already prepared and we perceived defrosted fish, raw foods not orderable (only oysters), non-existent desserts (only ready-made sorbet). There is no written menu, but it is still available on the fork, advantageous with the fork (-50%), but we certainly will not return.

21/04/2026: We dined at Agriturismo Fiorello a few days ago with friends from work, and unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. Let's start with the positives: the outdoor setting is certainly pleasant, surrounded by greenery, with large spaces where children can play freely. The presence of animals is an added bonus, making the place especially attractive for families. The main problem, however, was the food. The menu was fixed for all tables, an understandable organizational choice, but one that requires great attention to quality, which unfortunately was lacking. The appetizer consisted of a rather firm fritter with very few cherry tomatoes on top (almost imperceptible), accompanied by a wedge of pecorino cheese, a small amount of ricotta, and a single slice of prosciutto. This was followed by the cacio e ovo (cheese and egg balls)—probably the best part of the dinner—but unfortunately, they were limited to only one per person. Then some unappealing vegetables arrived, so much so that almost no one at the table ate them, and they were returned almost intact. The first course was the real sticking point: the gnocchi were decent, but the chitarra was subpar, both in texture and flavor. Being among the last to be seated, we felt like we were being served "leftover" egg pasta, with many irregular pieces. The sauce was unpleasant, and the floury flavor was too noticeable, making the dish overall heavy and sloppy. The meat was among the most popular items, but again, the quantities were limited, and some didn't even get to try it. Overall, no one at our table was satisfied with the dinner. The final surprise came with the bill: we had agreed on a €35 menu per person, but were charged €38 without having ordered anything extra, given that the menu was the same for everyone. This unclear management leaves one perplexed. In conclusion, despite the pleasant outdoor setting, the dining experience fell well short of expectations for a farmhouse. I'm giving it 3 stars solely for the location, but I personally don't think I'll return.
19/04/2026: A beautiful little place, nestled in the green hills of Abruzzo. The food is noteworthy: classic but delicious, and the rustic setting, set on a farm with many animals, is spectacular (especially for children).
