15/01/2026: THE TRIUMPH OF PALLOTTE IN PESCARA I stumbled upon this restaurant by mistake, and now I return often. Everything is good, but the cacio e ovo (cheese and egg) pallotte are special! They're not just the traditional ones with tomato sauce, but also with pecorino and walnut cream, saffron and mushrooms, and truffle. I tried the first three, and I can say they're top-notch!!! The fried pizzas are also good. I've also tried the meatballs, and they're excellent. The tiramisu with biscotti is a nice experiment, but I prefer the classic. I'll be back, and I recommend it if you want simple, yet delicious, food.

31/01/2026: A true gem in the heart of Roccaraso! If you're looking for the true essence of Abruzzo cuisine, La Capannina is an absolute must. We were welcomed with an old-world warmth and professionalism: the staff is exquisitely kind, always attentive to every detail and capable of making you feel at home from the first moment. But let's move on to the highlight: the food. * The house antipasto is a triumph of local flavors: a lavish platter of local cured meats, quality cheeses (the fresh ricotta is sublime!), artisanal pickled vegetables, and incredibly flavorful sautéed mushrooms. * The first courses are pure poetry. We tried a fresh pasta with incredibly creamy porcini mushroom cream, a dish that exudes mountain flavors and tradition. * The meat, cooked to perfection, confirms the high quality of the ingredients used. Even the simplest dishes, like the hamburger and fries, exude an authentic, captivating flavor. * The atmosphere is rustic and welcoming, as you'd expect from a high-end retreat in Roccaraso. Excellent value for the quality offered. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back to indulge in the flavors of Abruzzo again.

12/10/2025: We were there for a birthday party in a large group of about 30 people. The seafood appetizers were questionable; the first course was supposed to be spaghetti with clams, but it was randomly changed to mussels and clams with or without tomato sauce. The service took a long time, which was a good thing for us because we were spending the afternoon there, but it was obvious that there were more people than the otherwise friendly staff could handle. The location was perfect, however, because we were in the shade of the trees, so the weather was ideal.

21/09/2025: Invited to lunch, we waited about an hour and a half for appetizers and a first course, with the second course arriving almost at the same time. Half the table received their dishes, while the other half didn't, arriving about 20 minutes later. A couple of guests didn't eat certain types of fish and were served anyway, despite being informed several times. The place was packed, with loud music that made it difficult to talk to the person next to you. Furthermore, the kitchen hood probably faced the side of the room where we were, releasing a very strong and, over time, nauseating cooking smell... The food was good but not exceptional; the first course was definitely the best. I'm unlikely to return.

15/08/2025: We had lunch on August 15th, featuring seafood. Everything was excellent and fresh! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it.

13/08/2025: I really like it because it's quiet enough, yet has everything you need and lots and lots of space. Domenico is kind and helpful, and the staff are also lovely. Breakfast and lunch were excellent. Well done!

12/12/2025: We heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and, attracted by so many nice words, we decided to go there for lunch... or rather we thought about going... the phone number doesn't seem to exist, there's no way to get in touch with them, they don't have a mobile number but only a landline, no social media pages... and furthermore, reading the opening hours here on Google, I realized that they are open 45 hours for lunch (perhaps for the short lunch break of the workers who are nearby) and two hours for dinner.

22/03/2026: Stopping at Elvira's is simply giving yourself a chance to reconnect with your head, body, heart, and soul. If you need to feel at home even though you know you're not, this is where you'll find that feeling of joy. I thank her first and foremost for her welcome, hospitality, and gracious, never intimidating kindness, but also all the courteous and professional staff who support her on this mission! We'll be back soon, probably in greater numbers, to spend another special Sunday! Giulia

01/03/2026: The daily menu was awful; the pasta was raw and tasteless, just like everything else. We ordered two reasonably priced first courses outside the menu. The service was rushed; the gentleman who took our order wasn't very friendly. We definitely won't be returning.

18/02/2026: Excellent food, very kind and helpful owner. Our dog was allowed in without a problem. Nice place.

02/12/2025: They make excellent homemade desserts and the cappuccino is delicious. Always kind and helpful.

28/11/2025: Excellent coffee, excellent croissants, excellent pastries, but the service is just not up to par. Sometimes I lose interest, given how slow and "differently" organized they are, but I resist waiting my turn because it's worth it. But what a hassle!
