08/07/2025: My favorite restaurant for truffles and mushrooms. This time, too, I was not disappointed at lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday. Mixed crostini for one with plenty of truffles and porcini mushrooms. Next came the delicious tagliatelle covered in truffles. Then the fried egg with lots of truffles and a side of fried porcini mushrooms. Too full for dessert, we splurged on a generous helping of truffles.

17/05/2025: You can't pay 6 euros for a gratin of vegetables with a tomato of number and a slice of eggplant. Burnt meat and potatoes brought to the table 15 minutes before everything else. The grilled food cost 18 euros on the menu, I go to look at the receipt and they charged me 20. It's absolutely not worth it, I strongly advise against it.

03/06/2025: I don't know what happened. The pizzas were practically inedible: unevenly spread, very thick and slightly raw parts, some parts very thin, some parts completely without crust and irregular shape. The pizzas were very rubbery in some places, burnt in others; the one with chips had very few chips, the ones with sausage had pieces of sausage as big as a finger and other raw ones (clearly visible), but the thing that made them very difficult to eat was the excessive amount of mozzarella, the pizzas were very heavy. I don't know what happened, it's the 4th/5th time we've ordered here and the pizzas were different, cooked, spread well and with a normal amount of mozzarella. I'm very sorry but this kind of service is unacceptable.

17/08/2025: If you could give more stars, you would have. Historic trattoria, friendly and kind atmosphere, you feel like you're back eating at your grandmother's house. Homemade pastry made on the spot. Abundant and varied appetizers of excellent quality. Enhanced with various delicacies. The coffee is priceless! Excellent wine. I'll be back to try the meat main courses and desserts!

14/08/2025: The coffee could be improved, let alone the macchiato, which tastes like water. The welcome of the past is gone, with the chance to always have a joke or a chat with the owners... a nice location, but it's lost all its "village spontaneity."

25/08/2025: A disappointing experience in every way. I ordered mushroom bruschetta (€13), which consisted of two slices of bread topped with a handful of very thinly sliced ​​mushrooms. For my first course, I chose porcini fettuccine: unfortunately, the pasta was of truly poor quality, similar to the packaged ones from discount stores (thin, smooth fettuccine), and the mushrooms were almost nonexistent. Embarrassingly, I had to ask for more, but the dish was the same as before, with only four pieces of very salty mushrooms added to the top. I'd also like to know from the owner how much the first course actually cost, as I suspect there was a markup on the listed price, which was somehow hidden on the receipt. The total price, however, was far too high for what was offered. It's a shame, because I had completely different expectations, but between the paltry toppings, mediocre ingredients, and lack of clarity, I can only express my dissatisfaction. The customer isn't stupid: personally, they'll never see me again. Strongly discouraged. Furthermore, I had serious problems digesting the food, which is very unusual for me. I felt sick and had to vomit after a few hours. This experience further worsened an already disappointing evening.

06/09/2025: I've been eating at Ciro's for several months. I learned today that the management has changed, chatting with the kind and always helpful staff, and we, along with family and friends, are always very satisfied, whether you choose the self-service or restaurant option. Fresh, well-cooked fish; tasty, well-executed, plentiful, and very varied dishes; super friendly staff. Very quick service, average prices, though I'd say the self-service option is slightly lower. We'd really love to go back for a fish meal and to spend some time in peace, without breaking the bank. I highly recommend it.

25/08/2025: Prices: €4 cover charge. I'm celiac, so I asked for bread twice, which was brought after the appetizer. Aulente wine, which I bought for €7, was brought to me from a menu for €28... well, paying double, but not three times. Clam risotto €20. Water €4. Large anchovy appetizer €20. Desserts starting at €10... Food: good Service: slow. Sitting at the table, we asked for the menu after 15 minutes, and the same for the rest. Venue: excellent location on the canal, but tables with little space between them.

24/08/2025: After seeing a TikTok about this place, which promised sickeningly large portions, we purposely went to check it out. We chose Giuliano's menu (€55 per person), which includes a bit of everything except drinks, cover charge, and bread. The food was excellent, but for a seafood restaurant, it was a bit too elaborate, to the point of overpowering the flavors of the good, fresh fish. The appetizers were one piece per person, in the sperlunghe (small round pasta). We received a risotto. Excellent, but the prawns were unpeeled, and given the generous amount of cream, they were a bit difficult to clean. Why not peel them first, leaving only the heads to make it easier for the person eating? This too was a meager portion. 😢 We received an excellent first course, but only two swivels each, about 50g each. We get the highlight: the grilled fish on a huge, oversized platter, but the quantity inside was always divided between four people 😢 like all the other dishes 😢 Our limp table, despite the waiter's attempts to arrange it, was outside in an area with very little dim lighting. The biggest problem, which he reported to the person at the cashier, was the grilled fish 🐟 that the chef had cut open in half but neither scaled nor deboned! How many of you could debone a fish in the dark? 🤔 Given the dim lighting, we noticed the bones when we felt our mouths sting. 😢🤬 To solve the lighting problem at the outside tables, it would have been easy to use a rechargeable tea light 💡 for the center of the table. In the end, that fish was inedible due to the invisible bones. I repeat, the food was all excellent, but too elaborate, like in a reception hall, which covers the flavors. In the end, we spent about €65 per person, including bread, water, and a cover charge, to leave that table still hungry. Giuliano, don't be offended when you read this review, but take it as a suggestion for improvement. If you ever find yourself in Bari, contact me and I'll take you to a seafood restaurant that costs about €60 per person, including raw fish and drinks (wine, etc.). Not because it's better than your lovely restaurant, but simply because I'd like to discover new dishes and menus. 😉
