26/12/2024: We stayed in this cute farmhouse at the foot of the basilica of S. Francesco, in fact you can enjoy a spectacular view of the basilica! We had a really great time, the room was welcoming and clean, the food was delicious and of excellent quality, the Christmas lunch was the best!! Above all we felt at home thanks to the welcome and kindness of Mr. Sandro, his wife Gabriella and his son Andrea, who put passion and love into everything they do. One day they also accompanied us to Assisi and on Christmas day Mr Sandro advised us to visit the Prison Hermitage, and it was a wonderful walk through the snow and this unique and spiritual place. What can I say... Thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas spent with you in Umbria, we will be back to visit you soon❤️

05/01/2025: We were enchanted by this restaurant! Every single bite was a sensory journey. The flavors were balanced to perfection and the presentation of the dishes was impeccable. The staff was extremely attentive and courteous. An experience that we highly recommend to all lovers of good food.

17/12/2024: Went to the restaurant. Nice atmosphere. But the food was hit and miss. Stay away from the “fusion” Asian dishes, they don’t do it well. Ordered satay chicken with sushi rice. Disappointing. Rice was cold, satay sauce was sourish, chicken was tasteless. The starters fared better, had the Bao with grilled prawns etc. Not understanding why they received a 4.7 rating; feels more like a 4.2.

09/12/2024: We ate very well and abundantly, a trio of first courses, pumpkin tortelloni, chestnut tagliatelle, hemp tagliatelle with pesto. Excellent fried polenta with squacquerone, good cheese platter and good desserts. Very honest prices. The first ones for 10 euros can no longer be found. We'll be back

08/12/2024: Very nice dated style place, well looked after, clean... the food is good, the staff are friendly and helpful. .I recommend it....On the first hills in the Bolognese area..

29/12/2024: The perfect lunch. 16 of us arrived from Rome with 2 people with celiac disease. The service and welcome were excellent. All the first courses chosen and the appetizer were very good, the celiacs also ate like the rest of the table and they ate very well, it is not easy or obvious. everything arrived together, and everyone was very happy. What can I say, thank you, we will definitely be back.

29/12/2024: On a beautiful cold evening in Assisi, a warm and welcoming place. Raw material so-so, I expected a little more. The cuisine is very seasoned and a little heavy. They could embellish the menu a little. Unfortunately the service was not good, but I would still go back to give it a second chance.

07/01/2025: Siamo venuti per la prima volta in questo bel ristorante (non molto grande, prenotate in anticipo!) posizionato proprio al centro di Assisi. C'è anche la possibilità di pranzare su una bella terrazza che affaccia sulla splendida piazza. Servizio rapido e cortese. Menù che a mio parere andrebbe un po' "arricchito" per offrire maggiore scelta, ma che comunque offre piatti gustosi, in linea con la tradizione del territorio. Carta dei vini abbastanza ricca (forse sarebbe opportuno proporre un maggiore numero di bottiglie di fascia economica...). Rapporto qualità/prezzo buono.

11/01/2025: We had a really great time even though we hadn't booked due to sudden changes in plans; they found us a very cozy place near the fireplace. Our only sin was arriving at the Trattoria not too hungry, because the first courses were so good that we would have liked to try everything on the menu. Excellent quality-price! If we lived in Assisi we would certainly be frequent visitors to this place; the staff was also very kind not to let us worry about the fact that we were the last ones left in the room, to finish the wine calmly. We thank you very much for this! P.S. Only now, therefore after having been with you, did we notice the negative reviews regarding you, but above all the responses you give: you are great! Always elegant and intelligent!

17/12/2024: Eravamo stati già in questa trattoria, ristrutturata di recente, abbiamo mangiato bene, confermando il buon ricordo che ne avevamo. Da migliorare il servizio

15/12/2024: Pranzo con amici. Sulla strada che costeggia la basilica, quindi centrale. Il parcheggio è nella villa di fronte . Abbiamo mangiato bene e soprattutto il servizio è molto gentile e mai invadente. Buono il tortino ai porcini, la cacio e pepe appetitosa ma forse un pochino salata per il miei gusti (probabilmente è la presenza del guanciale). I dolci molto buoni, soprattutto i semifreddi (forse un po’ troppo gelati, li avrei preferiti più cremosi). Consigliato.

09/01/2025: They are different because every time I go to Assisi I eat here. The food has always been good although I think the management has changed since the first times I was there. Together with the context of the Bosco di San Francesco it is truly a special place

16/12/2024: If you are in a hurry this is definitely the right place. Starter, first course and second course in half an hour. The most annoying thing was the waitress who, while you were putting the fork in your mouth, came to see if she could take your plate away and she did this for the whole half hour we were there, she made us feel as if she wanted to send us away and yet it was 8.30pm... The food wasn't bad... The only positive note is the view...

09/12/2024: Specifying that I have been going to Umbria for 6 years, at least 2 times a year, I discovered this restaurant only this year 2024, on the advice of a great friend from Rivotorto, my partner and I celebrated our 12th anniversary at the Mandrie, and what can I say? Wonderful place, wonderful view, top food, and excellent service, we will definitely be back on our next holiday, well done everyone, Erica and Luca from Reggio Emilia

06/01/2025: Forget the words "gourmet", "bistrot" and similar... In this restaurant you will find the sincerity and goodness of the past, their strength lies in the simplicity and beauty of the grill, fantastic torte al testo, sublime first courses and house wine to season it all! Excellent quality/price ratio Thanks to the large grill they can prepare meat without gluten contamination (my celiac wife thanks)

03/01/2025: We stayed at the cardinal's inn located in a historic building in the center of Assisi. The location is very elegant and particular. We opted for the "Incontri" tasting menu paired with a bottle of local wine, a high-level culinary experience, everything exquisite and with attention to the smallest details, even the presentation. The passion of the chefs could be felt in their dishes, I hope they get a Michelin star because they deserve it all. The staff were very kind and professional, careful to satisfy our every little request. At the end of lunch we visited the cellar and the ruins of the palace with the historical mosaics. It was wonderful and I highly recommend it.
