12/06/2025: Una persona locale ci ha consigliato “La Gratella” ed è stata una piacevole scoperta. La mia più grande paura quando vado nelle grandi città è di incappare in una trappola per tutisti. Taglierone di antipasto e 1,3 kg di fiorentina cotta alla perfezione. Tutto molto buono, carne ottima e servizio eccellente. Il proprietario e i camerieri sono molto gentili, professionali e cordiali. Promosso a pieni voti!

15/05/2025: I have known Silvia, Johnny, Filippo and Lorenzo since they had the other restaurant and I have followed them because going out to eat is not just a matter of leisure or convenience because you don't feel like cooking or because we are passing through the area: I leave from Livorno on purpose, for example. The open kitchen was a strong point in the other restaurant too and they have kept it as a winning idea. The environment is intimate, logically very clean, and everything chosen as furniture or furnishings is not there by chance: this thing allows you to get to know Silvia in a subliminal way more than anything else. Johnny is a very ambitious man and therefore always tries to outdo himself and proposes things only when the level of the final result is at its maximum, this refers to the dish and its presentation. When he comes out of the kitchen and comes to ask you if everything went well, he doesn't do it to be celebrated but only because I am pleased to have satisfied the customer's needs. Filippo is very capable in the service and is constantly evolving both for the topic of wines and for meats: apart from the sommelier courses he often goes around to other restaurants just to understand what not to offer in his. Lorenzo in the kitchen with his dad is learning I go out I take the various cooking methods, some invented by Johnny himself. It's all delicious but I'll tell you how I reasoned the first time I arrived there: "If you put ragù on the menu of a restaurant you have to do it better than I do it." In fact I prefer that. My vote is 10 on everything.

30/05/2025: This cafe, and Volpaia in general, are hidden gems of Tuscany. I was here two years ago with my dad and had the most lovely morning cappuccino (with a little lemon cookie). Returned today with my family and had an equally memorable experience. Great espresso... great biscuits (orange-infused this time). Selfishly, I hope that the winding roads keep deterring the large buses and Volpaia will stay as I remember it. On the other hand, I sincerely hope that other travelers (looking to soak up the authentic, quiet beauty of this countryside) get to experience the intimacy of this cafe and village.

19/05/2025: This is a beautiful, authentic, small, family-run restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed by the chef himself, who greeted us with a big smile and seated us at our table. He explained every dish in great detail and made sure we felt completely at home. I had already planned to try the Florentine steak—and I have zero regrets. It was, without a doubt, the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. In fact, out of our entire trip to Italy, this was the most delicious meal both my wife and I had. No question about it. Highly recommended! Warm, cozy vibes and truly unforgettable food

18/05/2025: Personale gentile, accanto al centro di San Casciano con facilità di parcheggio. Carne veramente buona, peccato l’ eccesso del sale, del quale non sono amante. Il primo all’ anatra troppo pepato. Antipasti umm…..Per il prezzo che li abbiamo pagati, non meritavano. Fuffa. Comunque nella media. Eccessivo il conto per i piatti consumati. Alla fine in sei, di cui 3 persone hanno mangiato un solo piatto. Mah.

17/06/2025: We had an absolutely lovely meal here. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Of special note was the gnocchi with Gorgonzola. It was amazing! The gnocchi were so light, like little pillows of heaven. We were a party of 6 and none of us had ever had gnocchi that light and delicious. 4 of us had various pizzas which were also quite good. The white pizza had fresh truffle shavings on it, so flavorful. Delicious!

17/06/2025: We went here for lunch one day, because the menu and staff was very friendly and had good specials deals outside. We ended up returning in the evening as well and the following day again. We didn't have the same course twice, because there were so many delicious options! We tried many of the specials - their bistecca is amazing, their truffle pasta (prepared tableside with fire in a parmesan cheese wheel) and many other amazing dishes. The service was above and beyond, and the staff truly wanted us to have a fantastic experience. An absolute must-visit and remember to book a table, as they fill up quickly.

31/05/2025: very good food, excellent quality meat, the staff is very kind and shows a great passion in this work, I recommend booking through "the fork" to have a 50% discount which allows you to enjoy a high quality dinner with a lower price than the competition. also appreciated the bitter finish that is offered to all customers. 5 stars

23/05/2025: What a great restaurant. Everything is right, the dishes, wines, service. No fuss with white tablecloths and formal service but just fantastic dining in a very nice atmosphere. Early reservation is strongly recommended.

22/05/2025: Just back from dinner at Osteria da Pasquale and what a great price/quality ratio, 70 euros per person (starter, main course and dessert) including a bottle of wine of 35 euros (shared), sparkling water, an offered aperitif and meloncella and an extra piece of free cake. Not only reasonably priced but everything was very well taken care of, nicely presented and very tasty and delicious. This is really a top address in Lucca with a special kitchen for which our compliments to the chef and the kitchen staff. But it is not only the food that makes this Osteria so special, it is also the friendliness of the owner, his staff and the service that many restaurants can learn a lesson from. Grazie mille to everyone at this Osteria.

07/06/2025: The place is very romantic and full of potential. The service was not attentive. Not a lot of possibilities and attention to our gluten free needs. The food was well presented but mediocre in taste - not more than that. Way too expensive for this level of dishes. The risotto was cold and too unseasoned and undercooked.

03/06/2025: E' sempre un piacere stare a cena da Luciano; il posto è molto caratteristico ed il cibo è ottimo, saporito e ben presentato; è una esperienza che merita di essere fatta almeno un paio di volte all'anno.
