13/04/2026: Excellent experience on Saturday lunch; a very quaint, quiet location surrounded by greenery, with sheep, goats, and chickens grazing. Fabiana was warmly welcomed, bursting with knowledge about their traditional Sardinian cuisine. The dishes are impressive for their authenticity, made with locally sourced ingredients, including the fantastic cheeses produced in their in-house dairy. Very varied tasting menus to choose from, allowing you to savor the excellent Sardinian cuisine. The service is impeccable, and the wine pairings are top-notch. Great attention is paid to food allergies.

26/04/2026: A delightful family-run restaurant with a homey atmosphere. The dishes and desserts are artisanal and incredibly fresh. I loved the zichi with meat sauce (even better than the frattau, which is still very good). The orange and walnut tart and the bianchini are delicious. The owner is incredibly kind; she makes the dishes herself. A pleasant discovery that definitely deserves repeat visits.

This is the review from 3 years ago: Back after almost twenty years... the place has improved greatly. Courteous, even friendly, and fast service. Tiziano, the guy who welcomed us, explains the dishes and recommends the wine with a detailed description of their characteristics. Top-notch cuisine!!! Delicious dishes; pasta cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly (spaghetti with clams and bottarga was super, tonnarelli allo scoglio was exceptional), fried food dry and fragrant, the main course (the tuna Cagliari-style) was a riot of aromas... fair price... I had to ask myself a question: why did I wait 20 years to come back???? TOP TOP TOP

31/03/2026: Amazing food, always super fresh fish! The fried fish is crispy and plentiful, as are all the other dishes. If you want to eat a truly foodish suckling pig, this is the place! One of the few restaurants where I always feel welcomed and pampered.

The place was beautiful, with great attention to detail, as was the food, which was typically Sardinian and delicious. Everything radiated warmth, undoubtedly thanks to the welcoming, kind, and generous staff. The price was average. I highly recommend this restaurant, and we'll be back.

11/04/2026: In March 2026, I went to a Sardinian restaurant. I had the most delicious pasta I'd had during my approximately one-week stay. When I mentioned that the amount of bottarga in the bottarga pasta was small, they brought me a huge amount of extra bottarga. Thank you, cheerful waiter! I left a generous tip. The sea urchin was hollow inside. I still think Japanese sashimi is tastier.

Osteria Caneva offers authentic Sardinian cuisine, with a wide variety of both meat and seafood dishes, and vegetarian options are also available. The quality and attention to detail are evident. The restaurant is welcoming and well-maintained, and the staff is professional yet capable of making you feel at home. The service is attentive and pleasant. The prices are in line with restaurants of this caliber, but what really struck me was the attention to detail: even without ordering dessert, we were offered traditional sweets (in our case, chiacchiere) and house liqueurs. A detail that demonstrates great customer care. A must-try.
