02/02/2026: I'm revising my previous review. This is a historic Mantua restaurant. Traditional dishes, but sometimes, in the kitchen, they lose their composure. On the last occasion, for example, we were served a first course that, to call al dente, was simply too much. What's disappointing is not seeing a smile. In other words, there's a lack of "friendliness," and that's a shame: perhaps the customer would appreciate it.

20/12/2025: I'm local, but I confess I wasn't familiar with this place. I discovered it thanks to a business dinner a few days ago.
I tried the cured meats appetizer, followed by a selection of cheeses accompanied by mustards and jams.
The final highlight? The dessert trolley, simply spectacular.
I'll be back soon.

06/12/2025: We braved the fog to arrive here, drawn by the menu and the rustic feel. We found what we were looking for: a true Mantuan restaurant. It's a shame we weren't hungry enough to try more dishes; we were spoiled for choice. I can recommend the donkey stew, the carp fillets, the exceptional persimmon sorbet, and the sbrisolona cake with zabaglione. If we have the chance, we'll be back.

Da Ginen is a monument to cuisine. From agnolini to snails and sbrisolona, every dish is a tradition.
The rustic courtyard is pure poetry: dining here should be under the patronage of UNESCO.

A good menu selection, and I personally find their pizzas served directly on a cutting board to be excellent.
15/01/2026: I ate a dry 4 Stagioni pizza and 1 liter of sparkling water. The price was exorbitant. Not because of the money, but because it wasn't worth it.

27/12/2025: A little outside of Mantua, a must-visit for the delicious food. Everything is homemade. Each dish is carefully prepared and the flavors are authentic. We had a wonderful time, thanks also to Claudio's hospitality and friendliness.
A very nice place. Overall, it's worth it, especially for the delicious food—which I'd say is excellent!—but also because you escape the chaos of the city.

28/12/2025: What can I say? I brought friends and my partner to taste the flavors of my tradition, and a year later they still ask me to eat there again. The manager and staff were very kind, they made us feel at home.

30/11/2025: I'd like to review Scacciapensieri to clarify the service, which is good. Wait times are normal considering it's a Saturday lunch with at least 90 seats. The quality/price ratio is very fair. The menu is varied.

Good fried dumplings filled with fillings. Excellent first courses, as were the sublime second courses. Exceptional stew.
