14/11/2025: Frankly, we expected something better. We ordered an appetizer that lacked the signature cured meat, namely prosciutto crudo. Then, the tagliolini with mushrooms had bland pasta that ruined the flavor of the dish. For an appetizer, two first courses, a glass of wine, water, and two coffees, we paid 61 euros. Too much, considering everything.

06/12/2025: We braved the fog to arrive here, drawn by the menu and the rustic feel. We found what we were looking for: a true Mantuan restaurant. It's a shame we weren't hungry enough to try more dishes; we were spoiled for choice. I can recommend the donkey stew, the carp fillets, the exceptional persimmon sorbet, and the sbrisolona cake with zabaglione. If we have the chance, we'll be back.

03/11/2025: For my son's graduation, we celebrated with the family at Bice. There were eight of us, and we ordered platters as appetizers, followed by three first courses recommended by the owner, water, and a bottle of Franciacorta for dessert—the delicious bignolata. Everything was excellent. The only negative note, and I'm truly sorry to say this, was the bathroom. Since my mother is wheelchair-bound, she couldn't use the restroom because it's a squat toilet. I thank the owner again for her courtesy.

19/11/2025: A beautiful trattoria serving traditional Mantuan dishes. I went for lunch to try Mantuan cuisine and enjoyed all the dishes. The first courses were delicious, and the meats were excellent, served with appropriate side dishes. The finale was excellent, with a fabulous Elvezia cake. The service was quick despite the restaurant being packed.

13/11/2025: A wonderful culinary experience during a very brief two-day visit to Mantua. We shared a charcuterie appetizer. Then came the restaurant's signature entrees: maccheroncini allo stracotto (a type of stew) and pumpkin tortelli. Main courses: stew with roasted polenta and boiled meats, accompanied by salsa verde (green sauce) and Mantuan mostarda (mostarda mantovana), which (unfortunately, I didn't know) is made only with apples: excellent. A mezzanine of Lambrusco and water. Everything perfect.

The dessert trolley is out of this world, that alone would be enough to make me want to go there... kudos to you, I've been going there since 2015, the year my friend Dino introduced me to it... I'll be back as soon as possible.

17/11/2025: A mostly awful experience. We came in on a late Sunday afternoon around 2:20 PM. They immediately seated us and five minutes later asked us what we wanted to eat, repeatedly emphasizing in a less than polite manner that the kitchen closed at 3 PM. We requested several mini-courses so we could try various items, but this was denied without explanation. The dishes came out: risotto and sausage with no connection whatsoever, spicy duck tagliatelle, and pumpkin ravioli, which were delicious, but it was a shame they were drained on the plate. We then ordered dessert because the kitchen was closed by then. Another disappointment: the chocolate and pear cake, where you had to look for the pears, and the sbrisolona, ​​which wasn't the best. It was a shame because from the location and other reviews it seemed to be a good place.

29/06/2025: The ideal restaurant for a couple's dinner. It ranges from 'cacio e pepe' to 'ramen', a mix of Italian and oriental cuisine, all accompanied by a wide selection of fine wines. A warm and welcoming environment embellished by a beautiful wall bookcase that makes the atmosphere a bit similar to that of a literary café. There are also tables outside. Convenient parking spaces on the street. (it is an internal road with no traffic at all). The bill is really honest.

19/10/2025: Try the cured meats appetizer (delicious culaccia and coppa) with fried gnocco (what in Parma they call torta fritta). The rice with puntèl, with frogs, with psína and saltaréi (river shrimp) are delicious. The sliced ​​beef is tender and tasty. The wine list is excellent! Well done!

19/10/2025: I love snails, both sea and land, but unfortunately they're not easy to find in Sassuolo and the surrounding area. The place is quaint and welcoming, the service is fast and very friendly. My wife and I had fried snails, stewed snails with polenta, bourguignonne, and then pumpkin tortelli, sbrisolona cake, and coffee. Everything was fine for us. I'm looking at around €40 each. It's worth an hour's drive. Congratulations 👍

14/11/2025: Passing by, I stopped in with my wife and a small, welcome dog. We had a delicious cured meats appetizer and a Mantuan risotto. I must say, it was divinely good, and the staff were very friendly. I'll definitely be back.

20/10/2025: The restaurant overlooks the city's main square and has two rooms, one of which is a cozy, enclosed veranda with a wood-burning stove to heat the space. We ate well, featuring traditional Mantuan dishes and home cooking. The tagliatelle with duck ragù were excellent, as were the sbrisolona and tagliatelle cake for dessert. The prices were fair. The service was very attentive and friendly. We'll be back!

02/11/2025: Craving gnocco fritto and tigelle and having been unable to find a table at any of the popular Modena restaurants, I saw that this restaurant nearby offered them, so, encouraged by the positive reviews, we dined here on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is simple but well-maintained, both in the dining room and on the veranda, which, of course, has Plexiglas walls in the winter. I imagine it's very popular in the summer. The quantity of cured meats, sauces, gnocco fritto, and tigelle is generous and more than enough for two "normal" people; I must say, however, that it's a bit far from the gnocco fritto and tigelle you'd find in typical Modena restaurants. The gnocco fritto wasn't greasy, but the dough was a bit bland; the tigelle lacked firmness on the inside, and when you cut them, only the crispy sides remained. We probably chose the wrong dish; the menu features both traditional dishes and dishes with unusual combinations, especially the first courses. The orange, chocolate, and chili tart was delicious, served hot. I recommend keeping the kitchen door closed, as the room filled with the smell of fried food. The service was friendly, fairly quick, and attentive (though not everyone was). A bit of confusion when it came to the bill, but it was resolved. Competitive prices. Would definitely try again another time.
