12/12/2025: A small but elegant and very welcoming place, full of newspaper clippings that give you a sense of the place's history, which is reflected in the dishes served. We had the pike with polenta and the pumpkin ravioli, both simply amazing. For an appetizer, we had cheeses with a spicy and delicious apple mostarda. The staff was extremely kind (and also very elegant!) and helpful. We had a wonderful time, we will definitely be back.

06/12/2025: We braved the fog to arrive here, drawn by the menu and the rustic feel. We found what we were looking for: a true Mantuan restaurant. It's a shame we weren't hungry enough to try more dishes; we were spoiled for choice. I can recommend the donkey stew, the carp fillets, the exceptional persimmon sorbet, and the sbrisolona cake with zabaglione. If we have the chance, we'll be back.

30/11/2025: Mantuan tradition on the table. Da Ginen is a monument to cuisine. From agnolini to snails and sbrisolona, ​​every dish is a tradition. The rustic courtyard is pure poetry: dining here should be under the patronage of UNESCO.

03/11/2025: For my son's graduation, we celebrated with the family at Bice. There were eight of us, and we ordered platters as appetizers, followed by three first courses recommended by the owner, water, and a bottle of Franciacorta for dessert—the delicious bignolata. Everything was excellent. The only negative note, and I'm truly sorry to say this, was the bathroom. Since my mother is wheelchair-bound, she couldn't use the restroom because it's a squat toilet. I thank the owner again for her courtesy.

19/11/2025: A beautiful trattoria serving traditional Mantuan dishes. I went for lunch to try Mantuan cuisine and enjoyed all the dishes. The first courses were delicious, and the meats were excellent, served with appropriate side dishes. The finale was excellent, with a fabulous Elvezia cake. The service was quick despite the restaurant being packed.

13/11/2025: A wonderful culinary experience during a very brief two-day visit to Mantua. We shared a charcuterie appetizer. Then came the restaurant's signature entrees: maccheroncini allo stracotto (a type of stew) and pumpkin tortelli. Main courses: stew with roasted polenta and boiled meats, accompanied by salsa verde (green sauce) and Mantuan mostarda (mostarda mantovana), which (unfortunately, I didn't know) is made only with apples: excellent. A mezzanine of Lambrusco and water. Everything perfect.

I tried the cured meats appetizer, followed by a selection of cheeses accompanied by mustards and jams. The final highlight? The dessert trolley, simply spectacular. I'll be back soon.

17/11/2025: A mostly awful experience. We came in on a late Sunday afternoon around 2:20 PM. They immediately seated us and five minutes later asked us what we wanted to eat, repeatedly emphasizing in a less than polite manner that the kitchen closed at 3 PM. We requested several mini-courses so we could try various items, but this was denied without explanation. The dishes came out: risotto and sausage with no connection whatsoever, spicy duck tagliatelle, and pumpkin ravioli, which were delicious, but it was a shame they were drained on the plate. We then ordered dessert because the kitchen was closed by then. Another disappointment: the chocolate and pear cake, where you had to look for the pears, and the sbrisolona, ​​which wasn't the best. It was a shame because from the location and other reviews it seemed to be a good place.

26/11/2025: Extremely long waits: three hours for a first course and a dessert. There are no gluten-free first courses, and allergens aren't listed next to each dish on the menu. Terrible service: the owner told us we could order cured meats to pass the time. We asked for wine to be served with the first course, but that wasn't the case. They didn't ask if we wanted a second course; instead, they brought us the dessert menu. The Torta delle Rose was raw. We won't be returning.

16/12/2025: A pleasant discovery in the world of restaurants. The restaurant is located on a main arterial road. Not very visible at first glance, it doesn't have much parking. The decor tends towards rustic yet is simple overall. The à la carte menu offers typical dishes that showcase the local area and highlight flavors not always found elsewhere. The quality of both the ingredients and the attention to detail ensure excellent dishes. The menu is extensive, from meat to seafood to pizza. A well-stocked wine cellar makes the entire experience worth repeating. The staff's courtesy and helpfulness make the welcome a priority. I would call it excellent value for money.

19/10/2025: I love snails, both sea and land, but unfortunately they're not easy to find in Sassuolo and the surrounding area. The place is quaint and welcoming, the service is fast and very friendly. My wife and I had fried snails, stewed snails with polenta, bourguignonne, and then pumpkin tortelli, sbrisolona cake, and coffee. Everything was fine for us. I'm looking at around €40 each. It's worth an hour's drive. Congratulations 👍

02/11/2025: Very nice place, very well cared for in the dishes offered which are those of the Mantuan tradition, good ravioli with pumpkin, amazing cotechino with polenta, a real gem of the area... it melted in the mouth!
