13/05/2026: A small restaurant with a refined, elegant atmosphere, meticulously crafted down to the smallest details. I dined at this restaurant on a weekend in Matera on the recommendation of the B&B owner, and I must say it was an excellent experience. The same care and refinement in the dishes was also reflected in the attentive and friendly service. In short, a TOP restaurant!!! Congratulations!

12/05/2026: The food is good, but the price is ridiculous, especially when you compare the quality of the dishes with other restaurants in the area.

04/05/2026: May 3, 2026 Wandering through the narrow streets of the Sassi district in search of a restaurant for dinner, we entered and were seated without a reservation. What can I say...a very intimate restaurant with a charming setting, partly inside a limestone cave. It offers an excellent selection of wines; we were expertly guided in selecting one that both suited our tastes and complemented our dishes. The dishes certainly deserve praise (I must say I had a delicious fava bean and chicory soup, the best...). Everything was truly delicious. I can't give the service 5 stars only because a few more smiles from some of the staff would have been appreciated, even though they were extremely polite and kind. Highly recommended.

11/05/2026: The restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, and we wholeheartedly agree. The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly. The waiters and waitresses were very pleasant and attentive to the customers.

04/05/2026: Osteria L’arco was my favorite dining experience in Matera! The food was phenomenal with lots of local dishes to try and the service was the best. The pasta with peppers and ricotta is so far my best pasta in all of Italy! And the chocolate cake with orange and peppers was an amazing combination (I especially loved the cocoa hearts). It was my first dinner as a solo traveler and they treated me well. Grazie L’arco!

10/04/2026: Beautiful place, it's in Matera, you'll find it walking along Via Buozzi. The only downside was that I got a table in the sun and it was a bit strong, but it's a highly recommended spot.

05/05/2026: A typical Lucanian trattoria with truly delicious dishes: we thoroughly enjoyed both the homemade soup and the soup with meatballs in tomato sauce, both flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, however, the service wasn't up to par. The lady, presumably the owner, seemed rather haughty, while her daughter, who was taking orders, was even more so. We would have appreciated greater kindness, friendliness, and a modicum of savoir-faire. At various times, she was rude, even towards other customers: for example, with a table of undecided foreigners, she showed impatience, grumbling and huffing, turning away so as not to be noticed. Overall, a mixed experience: good food, but the welcome really makes the difference. Personally, I don't think I'll return, because a good restaurant should also offer empathetic and pleasant service, starting with the managers, who proved less friendly than the very kind waiters.

09/05/2026: Doesn't live up to the hype. Average food paired with slow service. The waitress was apparently frustrated too. Disappointed.

03/05/2026: The place is quaint, the waiters are kind and hospitable. Everything else needs to be redone; the pasta e fagioli was completely uninspired. The orecchiette, cod, and turnip greens were mediocre. The bar was below the superficial threshold. During our lunch, the owner must have drunk at least four spritzes, perhaps that's why he couldn't cook. The price was incredibly high, unjustified for what we ate.

03/05/2026: Everything was perfect. We ate very well at a reasonable price, and the owners were very friendly. I paid €60 for two. It's best to book a table.
