04/05/2025: Ponte di maggio a Matera, esperienza culturale e gastronomica meravigliosa, tra i luoghi che abbiamo avuto il piacere di visitare c’è l’Osteria L’Arco, prenotazione necessaria e meritata….Antonio ê veramente una bella persona. Abbiamo scelto piatti tipici locali, troccoli al pesto di rucola e una pasta fresca dal nome particolare, Miskiglio con cacio ricotta e pomodorini, buonissimi, veloce il servizio, poi baccalà con patate e crusco e filetto di maialino, deliziosi. La cena si è conclusa con un dolce fatto con pane raffermo, frutta su uno sciroppo di agrumi…semplicemente “Delizioso”. Insomma da visitare per chi non lo conosce, decisamente da ritornarci per chi ha già avuto il piacere!!!

27/05/2025: I went there last Sunday for a family event. I immediately interfaced with Stefano who welcomed me with the right kindness and who insisted on hosting me before confirming. My wife and I "explored" what the kitchen of La Gattabuia had to offer and then confirmed our event. I asked the two owners (Stefano and Giuseppe) to pamper my guests and to be accomplices with me in a special day; and so it was: Excellent quality food, dishes served at the right times, kindness, courtesy and professionalism. My guests spent a pleasant and "tasty" afternoon and therefore I can only recommend this place which fully met my expectations.

05/05/2025: Posto da visitare, tutto quello che c'è da uno antipasto centrale oppure carne grigliata, pasta, risotto, patate al forno, verdure grigliata, tutto e buonissimo. Attenzione dei lavoratori veloce, cortese ed amabili. Io provo ad arrivare ogni 1 - 2 settimane per pranzo. Dovete prenotare, quasi sempre e pieno, io vi consiglio questo..... Se volete assaggiare una vera cucina, andate a mangiare in questo posto.

03/05/2025: Awsome, fullly recommended. The waiters didnt spoke a word on english, but they made sure we understand eachother with translate. We had appitizer and first dish, and we ware full. The dishes are big and tasty. On top of that excellent bottle of white wine for 10 eur.

06/05/2025: Judging by the reviews and the number of customers each evening, this is one of the more popular places in Matera. I went there for dinner, aiming for 7:30 p.m. when it opens. A good decision, because 20 minutes after opening, the restaurant's spacious garden was already full. All the places inside had been reserved before they opened that evening (!). My order included a wonderful, local soup called crapiata which consists of various types of legumes and boiled cereal grains. This traditional dish from Matera and the surrounding area is, strangely, not widely available in local restaurants. I had a bit of trouble finding a place that serves it. For the second course, I took a portion of grilled meat which I regret a bit, considering the wide range of original pastas with interesting sauces (based on various Italian cheeses or fresh vegetables). Portions of meat were cut and served without any restaurant craftsmanship, so I had to fight with bones, cartilages, etc. A definite plus was the opportunity to try sheep organ meats which is rare wherever you eat. For me, however, this dish was a bit too heavy and simply difficult to eat. For a starter, I ordered very tasty oyster mushrooms. The whole thing cost 32 euros (two courses plus a starter), which I consider a very good price!

From starters to first courses, from second courses to desserts, from side dishes to wines, all prepared impeccably. The typical traditional products of the country, prepared by them, are truly a discovery worth trying. Compliments!

The orecchiette with porcini mushrooms and truffle cream is a masterpiece. One of the best places to eat in Basilicata. Highly recommended!
