04/01/2026: We went to dinner here last night and absolutely loved it. The welcome, the kindness, the attentive service, the excellent quality and flavor of the food. The manager was very knowledgeable and capable, and the chef was kind and talented. Even the bathroom was meticulously maintained, elegant, and very clean. The price was absolutely in line with the quality and the food we ate. Highly recommended.

31/12/2025: I went to Forendum in Lavello (both restaurant and hotel) with my parents, and the experience was simply perfect. We ordered two pizzas, pasta, and an appetizer: everything was very, very, very good. You can taste the quality and attention to detail, with authentic flavors and a truly local and regional touch. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, always available, and with a way of doing things that made you feel right at home. The wine was also truly excellent: well-chosen and perfect to accompany dinner. Another thing that really struck me was the ambiance, unique and evocative: a sort of "cave-like" atmosphere, warm and unique, which made the evening even more special. Honestly, I have nothing to criticize. I recommend Forendum to anyone visiting Lavello: it's absolutely worth eating there. I would go back in a heartbeat!

20/11/2025: Excellent atmosphere and quality food. Everything seemed to be in the right place, even the furnishings, including the tablecloths on the vintage tables, in harmony with the rest. Clean bathrooms and hospitality from the trained and correct staff.

04/01/2026: From Calabria. We went with friends, stumbling upon it. The owner, exquisite in his manner, saved us from an evening that seemed lost. He made some changes to the menu. The octopus salad with onion and cucumber was amazing, the shrimp cocktail with sesame seeds (I think!). The pepperoni cruschi were incredibly crunchy. The pizzas were excellent. The fried shrimp and calamari were top-notch, the tuna steak was very delicate. Everything was absolutely perfect. Recommended We'll be back. And we will. Thank you.

11/12/2025: Warm and very welcoming place, the owner Mr. Emanuele is very kind and affable, I ate pizza and appetizers on a Saturday evening, then we went for lunch, the restaurant was full but despite everything the waiting times were not long, praise must also be given to the service, I recommend it 🥰

05/11/2025: Like everything in Matera, the best thing about it is the atmosphere, which is fantastic. The locally sourced beef was cooked to perfection and tasted good, but it was quite fibrous. The selection of meats and cheeses is worthwhile. The sausage with potatoes is a kind of chorizo ​​criollo, but with an anise-flavored spice that overpowers the meat's flavor. The formaggie cheese was very good. As I said, the best thing about it all was the atmosphere.

06/11/2025: In my humble opinion, one of the top three restaurants in the entire region. The food is excellent (very varied and thoughtful appetizers), generous first courses, and incredibly high-quality meat-based second courses. The atmosphere is a dream. The wait staff is professional, especially Mimmo, an excellent host who takes great care of his guests. The quality/price ratio is reasonable. Rotondella, a wonderful little village.

04/11/2025: Great Basilicata’s food experience. Our menù was simple like traditional Basilicata food, yet sooo good. Frizzuli and Cruschi are the must-try dishes to have a glimpse of the taste of Basilicata. Prices were super honest, quantities more than average and the service was rustic like the one you can have at home. Really, a place which deserves to be visited, maybe more than once!

06/01/2026: Cavatelli with cruschj peppers, so delicious! Generous and flavorful portions. The fava beans with chicory were decent, but still worth a try. We weren't thrilled with the dessert, however.

29/12/2025: We had dinner here on December 26, 2025. It's a truly traditional trattoria, with a small but welcoming atmosphere and a roaring fireplace. The cold cuts were of high quality, as were the rest of the dishes. The owner was friendly and helpful, the food was generous, and the prices were very fair. I hope to return.

09/01/2026: A charming and quaint restaurant, typical of the area, with exposed vaulted ceilings. Friendly staff, delicious appetizers and pizzas with well-seasoned toppings. Excellent value for money.

06/01/2026: In a truly beautiful location, we ate an excellent mixed antipasto and a pizza with classic peperoni cruschi. Excellent service and perfect value.

06/01/2026: Best lunch in Matera. The fava bean puree with chicory, stuffed peppers, and crapiata were truly superb! We also really appreciated the complimentary liqueur at the end of the meal, accompanied by the entertaining stories told by the owner as we were served. The only flaw concerns the seating arrangements: when we asked to change tables because we were sitting near the kitchen, despite apparent availability, our request was denied on the grounds that the tables were reserved. However, a few hours earlier, when we called to check availability for dinner, we were told that reservations were not possible.

06/01/2026: Authentic flavors and traditional dishes, wholesome food excellent for those tired of frills that taste like nothing. Rustic atmosphere, truly original.
