While some dishes are well-crafted, the service is unprofessional and unbecoming of the restaurant's category: paper napkins and unnerving waits even just to order dessert, only to receive a knife while the plate cools. The quality-price ratio is unbalanced.

Enjoy a family-style welcome from the friendly and affable owner Pippo and his young, expert staff. Spectacular views of the valley await you, as you savor flavorful dishes and time-honored recipes, such as appetizers with cured meats, vegetable pies, and other delicacies. Hand-crafted first courses include ravioli with ragù and pansoti with walnut sauce, followed by tagliolini with porcini mushrooms, lasagnette, or trofie with pesto. For main courses, the house specialty is a rich Italian-style fritto misto, enough to feed two. Meat lovers will appreciate Piedmontese Fassona tartare, roast beef with herbs, veal with tuna sauce, Ligurian-style rabbit with olives, battered cod with panissette, fried focaccia filled with cheese, fried porcini mushrooms, and more. I ate wonderfully: everything was carefully crafted, from the fish to the presentation. The service was also impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, perfect for enjoying a special lunch in Portofino. Highly recommended, I'll gladly return!

17/05/2026: Very disappointed with this restaurant. The prices are very high for the tiny portions. The service is adequate, but the value for money is simply not there. It has a lovely location in Portofino, but that's not enough to justify the bill. I don't recommend it. It's clearly a tourist trap.

21/05/2026: Absolutely terrible. The food is not even close to worth the price. On top of that as I was eating, a young pregnant woman came in to use the bathroom clearly a emergency situation. And the owner followed her into the bathroom and bang on the bathroom door until she opened it and scolded her, yelling at her in front of everyone "how dare you" for using the bathroom before becoming a customer. And continued to yell and berate her. The girl left in tears. Absolutely disgusting. Everywhere I've seen in Italy seems to be the most baby friendly country in Europe. The owner here is absolutely disgusting. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

10/04/2026: Tonight we had a guest from out of town and we made a great impression with our tastings of focaccia, cheese focaccia, farinata, and pizza with crescenza! The prices were so fair that no one would have guessed they'd gotten it right. The cheese focaccia is light and super digestible! Highly recommended.

12/07/2026: We had lunch. The waitress was kind but not very open to changes. We asked for another main course, specifying that we were taking it so we could feed the dog! Because the restaurant doesn't have any cured meats! Result: "Two slices, two, of pork!" Nothing else! Good location.

14/07/2026: So, the prices are really cheap for Genoa Principe. The atmosphere is small and dated, but not bad. Payment by POS is accepted. My wife and I paid €17 and had two plates of lasagna, which were delicious, along with Sprite, water, and bread.
