Very old-fashioned trattoria, with a typical 1980s atmosphere. Decent food, fairly fast service, but a complete lack of cleanliness. Dirty forks, fingers in plates, water at the table practically at room temperature. Abundant dishes and prices decidedly below average, with sufficient quality.

A typical trattoria with very characteristic old-fashioned decor. We ordered - 2 first courses - 1 second course and fries - water and wine In total, we spent 24 euros, which is incredibly cheap for the quality of the food. They make delicious traditional trofie with pesto, and the staff is very friendly, fast, and helpful. They also have a slightly more secluded room with air conditioning, perfect for the summer. Recommended if you want a traditional meal at a low price!

Absolutely top-notch: The service (with the waiter wearing an Mbappé shirt) was extremely attentive and efficient. The food was authentic and delicious. It seems to be very popular with locals. We highly recommend Trattoria da Mario.

01/06/2026: Highly recommended! We went quite early, and I highly recommend it if you have kids, as the place fills up quickly. The fish and mussels were incredibly fresh, the Vermentino was excellent, and the trofie al pesto was superb! The waiters were kind, friendly, and welcoming to the kids. We had a great experience.
17/05/2026: A pleasant surprise hidden in Genoa's alleyways. Kudos to the owners. Delicious Ligurian food.

17/05/2026: For every special occasion, it remains my favorite restaurant in downtown Genoa, and I'm never wrong, whether it's the à la carte menu or the daily specials, or the wine cellar, including "unusual" champagnes, which I adore. As soon as the weather permits, I love the outdoor space, especially for lunch under the pergola. For me, it's an oasis of tranquility, peace, and a culinary experience in downtown Genoa.
18/01/2026: It's like stepping into authentic old Genoa. High-quality ingredients, a wonderful atmosphere, and a warm welcome. One of those historic osterias worth protecting.
