25/12/2025: Beautiful hotel with truly comfortable rooms and a kitchenette. A studio apartment at a great price, perfect for combining a night with an excellent dinner at the adjacent restaurant. A well-kept courtyard surrounds these spaces, both palate-pleasing and relaxing. For 40 years, San Daniele has provided me with a simple yet intense experience, always satisfying. Restaurant: In a welcoming, refined yet family-friendly atmosphere, excellent prosciutto, aged 24 or 36 months, cooked with superb horseradish, excellent pickled vegetables and frico. Courtesy, prompt service, and the cleanliness, order, and quality are certainly excellent here. I enjoyed the house Friulano Bianco, which paired perfectly with the prosciutto. San Daniele remains a unique gem, and the DOCG prosciutto deserves UNESCO World Heritage recognition. For these reasons, I declare myself absolutely anti-global. Long live Italy, an extraordinary food and wine paradise.

05/01/2026: I'm giving it two stars because behind every business there's undoubtedly a family and work, but I left this place with the distinct feeling of having been ripped off. The quality of the cuisine is what you'd expect from a historic trattoria, with some simple, ready-made dishes (creamed cod and lasagna, for example) that speed up and simplify service. However, it's 2026, and no matter how much you want to maintain your traditional character, no matter how much you don't want to lose your rustic, family-style identity, prices need to be communicated. I chose dishes from a verbally explained menu, without knowing the value of the dishes. At the table, I was brought water, bread, and wine without asking, but ultimately paid. The final bill was what I expect in a restaurant with service, a written menu with prices listed, the option to choose your own wine, and greater attention from the waiters. The lack of a menu listing prices and the waiter's quip, "The prices are reasonable," were clearly incorrect (and I believe illegal). I don't doubt that they are reasonable and well thought out, but I think it's appropriate to let the customer choose.

25/01/2026: A restaurant just steps from the city's historic center, with a large outdoor area for aperitivo. We went on a Sunday and I must say we had a great time. The menu features mostly traditional Friulian dishes. Service was quick and attentive, considering the restaurant was busy that day. The scoopable gelato served at the end was the icing on the cake. If you go, make sure to try it!

20/12/2025: Discovered by chance, La Balotarie is located on a hill overlooking Tarcento and features a large, recently expanded parking lot. In the summer, it offers a pleasant outdoor garden overlooking a grassy hill, providing serenity and space for children. The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar, and the dining room is carefully managed by Natalia and her staff. Quality cuisine: traditional and typical dishes, carefully prepared, generous portions, and a predominantly meat-based menu with fish and specialty options. Friendly staff and quick service, even when the restaurant is full. Prices are consistent with the quality (around €30–50 per person, depending on the dishes). Reservations are recommended on Sundays, both in winter and summer; in summer, it's ideal for outdoor aperitifs. Recommended. We'll definitely be back.

06/01/2026: The atmosphere and service were truly five-star. The waiter set high expectations, making us feel like we were about to enjoy a Michelin-star–level meal. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to that promise. The presentation wasn’t appetizing, and the portions were smaller than expected. Overall, if you’re not planning to enjoy wine as we did, there’s no reason to dine at this restaurant. It was not only unappealing in presentation, but the taste was disappointing as well.

08/01/2026: The food was good, the place was beautiful. I'd been there before for business dinners. It's a shame they ended up losing out on €1.50. There were 15 of us, four families, and the bill came to €29.10 each. We told the cashier so, and rounded it up to €29. He pays for the first course (€29 x €4), he pays for the second course, ditto, he pays for the third course, the same, he pays for the fourth course, and the lady charges him €1.50... We looked at each other and laughed. Not to mention that they didn't even offer us a liqueur at the end, as is usually the case, but that's part of the hospitality of the people, but rightly so, what do I expect from someone who takes €1.50 off a bill of over €400?
