Just wanted to say Luca was the best host in a great restaurant and made our staying in this town memorable!

The place is a bit commercial, but the food is still good. The location is beautiful, and the service is adequate for the somewhat unpopular prices. The wine list is impressive.

A lunch that lingers long in the memory. The courtyard of Ai Frati is one of those rare places where everything is just right: marble tables, wrought-iron chairs, wisteria on the wall, cobalt blue water glasses as the only splash of color—understated, yet sophisticated. On the table: Olio dell’Ornellaia and Laudemio Frescobaldi Raccolto 2024, both for tasting. No bread from a charcuterie board—a true introduction to the craft. The wine recommendations from the region were always perfectly matched. The pasta—a hand-pulled strand in a rich tomato sauce, topped with crispy rendered bacon and black pepper—was simply perfect. No frills, no concept cuisine, no pretension. Friulian cuisine at its finest: honest, precise, and bursting with flavor. Service discreet yet attentive, open, and communicative. The restaurant is nestled quietly in the Piazzetta Antonini, two minutes from the hustle and bustle—but feels like it's in a different time zone. An absolute must-visit for anyone in Udine looking for more than just touristy pasta.

I went to the restaurant for Easter lunch. Three of us sat down at 1:00 PM. The first course, consisting of two appetizers, arrived at 2:40 PM, and only after being asked to do so. At 3:05 PM, we asked the staff again for the first courses, so we finished lunch at 4:00 PM. We fully understand how busy it can be on Easter Sunday. In fact, we can't complain about the quality of the dishes, but the service left a lot to be desired.

Well-kept place, excellent cuisine, excellent service, and a very kind owner. Luca is a very knowledgeable guy.
