23/02/2026: The meat is truly delicious and beautifully cooked. Experience, quality, and professionalism are evident. I'll definitely be back to try the first courses and, when in season, the mushrooms and truffles for which it's famous. What impressed me most, besides the quality, is the expert cooking of each dish.

22/02/2026: A very quaint place, prices a little above average in my opinion, but the food is good. Any advice? Skip everything and get the veal steak, €20 well spent. Add chicory and a bottle of water, some pizza bianca, and for €27 you've had an excellent, very tasty steak for lunch. The prices for the other items, in my humble opinion, are too high, especially since it's a Sunday, so they serve like a diner. Would I go back? The answer is yes, I would go back for the steak, which was divine. As for the rest, I don't know. Still, a very quaint place.
09/02/2026: I had lunch at the self-service restaurant. The pre-cooked polenta was nothing special, but the sautéed vegetables were excellent. The wait was very short, considering it was Friday. The price for a polenta was €15. Enough for one person.

02/01/2026: Top mix of Abruzzo and Piemonte. Do not expect the huge portions served elsewhere in the area. Still you will certainly not leave being hungry. The food is excellent and you will get the chance to reasonably digest it. Very quiet, scenic view from the outside.

24/01/2026: We returned after years. The dishes were generous, to say the least. A first course could feed two adults and a child, and perhaps even a few left over for those who bring their furry friends.
The prices were low for the quantity.
It's a shame we didn't get to eat the second course.

11/01/2026: What can I say? I took my partner thinking I was taking her to a high-end restaurant, but it turned out to be a complete flop.
We ordered a chitarrina with saffron and truffles, but there was no saffron at all, and the truffle only looked like truffle. It was a simple chitarrina with butter. Then we had pappardelle with porcini mushrooms, which were soaked in oil but tasted like nothing. For my second course, I had grilled lamb, and luckily it was good, except for the sautéed chicory, which was very tough.
The location was beautiful, and the wait staff was kind and professional.
10/01/2026: One of the best restaurants I’ve been to visiting lately. Great food, fair price. Worthy to try “baccala” and “cosciotto di agnello”

11/11/2025: A good restaurant, decent value, quiet atmosphere, and a friendly couple who own it. She, who is also the cook, even offered me a post-meal amaro, and we chatted a bit about Castel di Sangro's success as a tourist destination in recent years, since Napoli chose this spot for their summer training camp.
A Monday in November certainly contributed to the pleasant calm inside. I don't know if it's crowded and more chaotic at other times, given that the place is small and therefore doesn't have many tables.
Overall, I liked it.
Simple, good dishes.
Recommended.

16/06/2025: Questo luogo va vissuto. Non penso sia possibile descriverlo, per la ricchezza di cose che contornano i tavoli. Storia, arte, luci, colori. L’interno una passeggiata in cose meravigliose, d’altri tempi. Le pietanze, poi, toccano la perfezione. Il carpaccio di cervo con i carciofini è squisito, lo è anche un prosciutto, tagliato spesso, bagnato con olio d’oliva EVO. Completa il tutto un servizio professionale, amichevole e rispettoso. Tornerò, sicuramente.

13/02/2026: Passing through on our way to OPI, we spotted this restaurant on the road. We stopped for lunch, and it was an excellent choice. The owner, Gianpio, is incredibly kind and explained the menu of the day, and we ended up choosing an excellent egg pasta chitarrina with porcini mushrooms and sausage. Sublime!

27/07/2025: Esperienza terribile. Siamo stati in questo ristorante su consiglio di amici. Cucina turistica e trattamento becero.
Quando è arrivata la carne, nell'immediato il tagliere si è riempito di mosche. La carne era dura, di pessima qualità e bruciata.
Da evitare.

19/07/2025: Dopo una lunga passeggiata, di ritorno dal castello ci fermiamo qui per cenare. La carne arrosto alla brace è molto buona così come i contorni di verdure grigliate. Buonissimi i dolci. La ragazza che ci serve è carinissima e gentile. Prezzi poco poco alti ma ci sta perché c’è la buona qualità del prodotto.
11/07/2025: Poca attenzione agli ospiti, le luci non vengono completamente accese, per cui mangi in penombra senza vedere bene la pietanza. La porta della cucina rimane sempre aperta per cui i fumi della carni sono tutti in sala! Il vino rosé è imbevibile! Cibo nella media, prezzi un pochino sopra.
