15/08/2026: Terrible structure. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this property when canceling. They find every excuse not to refund your deposit. Be careful. Terrible.

13/08/2026: We stayed at Hotel La Praja the first week of August with a group of friends, and for this vacation we decided to focus on one goal: to think only of the sea. And, in this respect, our stay was absolutely worth it. Let's start with the less positive things. Courtesy, unfortunately, wasn't the hotel's strong point (especially the gentleman with glasses serving breakfast). As for dogs, I wouldn't call it a pet-friendly hotel: dogs are welcome, but ours didn't have a fenced-in outdoor area where he could run and roam freely. Despite this, he also had fun and had a wonderful vacation. The daytime entertainment was provided by two young women who tried to engage the guests in some way, but with less than memorable results. In our case, however, we didn't particularly miss it: we were with another family and had a great time together. A decidedly positive note, however, goes to the shuttle, run by really nice and helpful people, and especially Mimmo, whose genuineness made us laugh more than once. The value for money was excellent, and we ate well for the right price. But the real strength, the one that ultimately overshadows everything else, is undoubtedly the sea: spectacular, beautiful, the kind that makes you forget some of the structure's small flaws (in this regard, I recommend taking the boat trip). For this reason, I honestly can't give the hotel a negative review. You just have to know what to expect. I wouldn't recommend it to those traveling with small children, those looking for ample space to let their dog run free, or those who consider entertainment a fundamental part of the holiday. I would, however, recommend it to those who want to eat well at fair prices, have a good quality-price ratio, and above all, enjoy a truly spectacular sea. Ultimately, you have to get into the right mood: holiday mode, little attention to the little things, and a real desire for the sea.

28/05/2026: Good location, easy to reach the center and the sea on foot, then there is also a shuttle service to the sea, video-monitored parking and very kind and professional staff. Last night was a fantastic evening with dinner and typical Calabrian music, I have to compliment all the staff, very good.

21/05/2026: A well-run establishment. Friendly, efficient, clean, and well-maintained. Its proximity to the lively town center and the beautiful grounds are particularly noteworthy. However, in keeping with the region, the breakfast places a heavy emphasis on sweets.

04/08/2026: Exceptional gelato, well-deserved three Gambero Rosso cones. The lady who welcomed us was incredibly kind. The gelato is undeniably high-quality, and I was also pleasantly surprised by the cookies, which are excellent. I'm curious to try the chocolates; I'll do so next time.

02/01/2026: I was with friends for a post-dinner drink, and we chose this place based on past experiences that were neither praise nor infamy. We arrived at the place and were off to a bad start, with two people smoking inside the covered veranda. We attempted to order some gins from the long list available on the menu, but they promptly weren't available... After about 4-5 failed attempts at ordering gin, and one attempt at ordering a beer, where none of the 4 on the menu were available, we decided to let the waiter decide, indicating our tastes... My friends were a little luckier, but I received some real "fuel"... As long as I live, I will never set foot there again. Thank you and never again.

27/12/2025: A terrible spritz, all ice in a plastic cup. Paid €8 without a single crisp or appetizer. Outrageous.

13/07/2026: Total disappointment with the welcome, no friendliness, but the worst part was that my husband and I were sick for two days, vomiting and other things. We went for breakfast, and the cappuccino wasn't creamy; they made a latte and coffee, and a fried cannoli with cream that I've never had, so it tasted only of sugar, and the pastry seemed to have been fried days before. My husband had a cannoli that was terrible. Definitely disappointing, especially considering the high price. If I had read the reviews beforehand, I wouldn't have suffered or bought medication.

10/08/2026: We knew the restaurant's reputation, and what can we say...it was definitely confirmed! The chef offers traditional dishes with a touch of imagination that makes them unique, not to mention his original creations that left me speechless! I highly recommend the Jefferson exchanges with pistachios (the winning dish in a Michelin-starred chef competition): astonishing! In the dining room, the chef's father shares anecdotes behind the dishes on the menu that make them even more enjoyable.

15/05/2025: Incredible!!! We've enjoyed an excellent aperitivo here twice now. The reasonable price doesn't reflect the outstanding quality of the authentic food. The ambiance and the very friendly staff made the evening a highlight. Thank you!

11/05/2025: This restaurant is not worth visiting. Food is overpriced and simply not good (served on plastic (!) plates )- same goes for the service - waiters are buzzing around you constantly, talking on their walkie-talkies like they are in a swat team (mind that at the time only 3 tables were taken) making it impossible to enjoy the meal (not that there is much to enjoy). Stay away for your own good.

20/07/2026: The atmosphere outside is lovely, with tables in a small courtyard in central Tropea. The quality of the food doesn't match the atmosphere, and table service is a bit slow. We ordered a rare fillet; it was cooked well, but the meat was decidedly tough and stringy, and not worth the price. The fried onions were very good!

10/07/2026: Pleasant atmosphere. Nice lady served us. We ordered 4 beers. I went to get the bill at the end. €40! €10 a beer (500ml bottle). The most expensive beer we have drunk in Italy.

02/08/2026: I was unfortunate enough to visit this place, and the experience was decidedly disappointing. During the evening, we ordered a bottle of wine, which was duly taken care of, but was never actually brought to our table. Despite our requests, the staff demonstrated complete inattention and poor organization in managing our orders. Mistakes can happen, but the complete lack of customer service and the lack of apologies or explanations make this place unsuitable. We definitely won't be returning. Not recommended!!

04/08/2026: Nice quick snacks - pizza, arancini panini, etc. I tried arancini, it's quite tasty although it's not as tasty as the Sicilian one, try it with the local nduja and their onions.

02/08/2026: Local fast food - Arancini! I got the classic one with ragu. It was my first arancini ever, and it was amazing! The crust was crispy, and there was just the right amount of mozzarella and ragu filling! I don't understand why it has such a high rating! It was delicious!
