The presentation of the dishes and the quality of the ingredients are beautiful. We will definitely be back, I recommend it

15/02/2025: I have been frequenting the "Porta Vaticana" for more than 20 years and believe me it is always a pleasure to return both for the excellent cuisine and for the friendliness of Michele and his staff. In my opinion, anyone who comes to Tropea cannot fail to go and get to know this place and its characteristics, I read someone who criticized the ceiling fans... dear ones, they have always been there and are an integral part of the location. Anyway excellent fish cuisine excellent Neapolitan style pizza excellent wine list and don't miss the exceptional and inimitable "Risotto Afrodite" an indelible memory of the person who created it. Michele is a friend and a guarantee.

07/01/2025: Bellissimo pranzo, fuori stagione, con tutta la famiglia. Gestore molto simpatico e cordiale: cibo molto buono, curato e ben strutturato. Veramente sopra ogni aspettativa! Ci siamo divertiti, mangiato bene e bevuto pure. Consigliamo per un buon passaggio con ottimo rapporto qualità - prezzo!

03/03/2025: The pizzas are cheap (7 €), taste good average. The store seems to be very popular and there is a time slot for pickup. Unfortunately, my pizza was apparently ready much earlier and was only handed over lukewarm.

07/03/2025: There are a few nice views and lots of beautiful and probably not entirely poor people to admire in this harbor. It's best to walk a little further outside the village, because afterwards there's a worthwhile, deserted beach.

02/03/2025: I am adding to the review because I stayed again on the night of June 9, 2024 and I confirm what is written below, nothing new. It is the first time I have written a review even though I have already been there about ten times over the years and always with a tent for 2 nights or a little more, in different periods between June and September (like this time from the 15th). I have always found a place even though it is always very busy like this time despite it being mid-September. Campsite unchanged over the years, not new in any way but functional if you are not looking for luxury. Very beautiful location, directly on the sea, as beautiful as the beach which however is quite crowded like the nearby ones. It has nothing beyond the toilets and an excellent restaurant/pizzeria/bar right on the sea, no market, entertainment or anything else. Very courteous staff both in management and in the restaurant. The pitches are all the same, covered by a sheet, and you can also keep your car there. No flies, wasps and mosquitoes. For ants, the usual precautions are enough. Outside the campsite, you just have to take the steps to reach the magnificent historic center of Tropea. From the nearby port, boats leave for trips along the coast or to the Aeolian Islands. In conclusion, I absolutely recommend it, if only for its strategic location.

31/10/2024: Camping ok, places by the sea very nice. Showers and toilets are clean but, sorry, they urgently need to be renovated. No hacks in the showers and almost all the locks are broken or missing

11/11/2024: The restaurant is located in a great place, the food was served quite quickly, unfortunately that's all the positives. The food was not impressive despite the relatively high prices for the off-season. Portions not very large, no additions to the ordered dishes. The service is efficient, but probably focused on the number of customers.

26/09/2024: Came for drinks. Had what was effectively two gin and tonics, for a sum total of 27€ once cover charge added.The drinks were less than average, and the price more than central London. Non buono :(

11/02/2025: We were hungry for meat and fortunately found Fame da Lupi open. We didn’t have reservations but they were able to accommodate us. The selection of available meat was very good and quality. The service was excellent and the food came out fast and perfectly cooked. We will definitely return to Fame di Lupi the next time we are in Tropea.

29/12/2024: A Tropea per una breve passeggiata, ci siamo imbattuti per caso in questo piccolo ristorante dove siamo stati accolti con gentilezza ed abbiamo trovato sapori genuini. Materie prime di qualità e bravura dello chef hanno fatto il resto…pranzo TOP. Assolutamente consigliato!
