16/11/2024: I had been living in Tropea for a few weeks and this place and their sister restaurant, la dispensa by boca, are my favorite spots by far. The food is amazing, I enjoyed every meal and kept going back. I tried a few of the pasta dishes and main courses, and all are delicious, including the friesian sirloin steak, which was perfectly cooked. the three course tasting menu is a very good value. All of the seafood was very fresh and very well prepared. I loved how they mixed flavors and explored new ways of incorporating Calabrese staples. Each meal was a really fun foodie experience. The wine selection is also excellent. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and excited about the food and wine. It’s also beautiful as it is in the square next to the duomo. This is a must visit when in Tropea, enjoy!

21/11/2024: Disappointing, Went here for dinner in October based on the reviews and hoping for something a bit special and away from the commercial centre. The venue was very nice, probably the first meal indoors on our holiday. However all the other clientele were also tourists, no Italians, always a bad sign. Maybe because of this there was no atmosphere. The staff also lacked the typical Italian hospitality, possibly because the boss/chef was American.(oops). But the main gripe was that the food wasn't anything special. We ordered a whole fish to share. Presentation could have been better but they hadn't even descaled it which in my book is pretty basic. Also we could hear the frequent ping of the microwave. Still better than most UK restaurants but expect better in Italy.

05/11/2024: Locale piccolino e caratteristico dal nome identitario nel borgo di Pizzo, pesce fresco, personale professionale e gentile. Unica piccola pecca ingresso e bagno non comodissimi. Prezzo consono. Consigliato.

03/01/2025: Cibo davvero delizioso e ambiente speciale, molto romantico. Uno dei ristoranti migliori in cui abbiamo mangiato durante la nostra vacanza a Tropea. Ottime opzioni vegetariane.

30/12/2024: fter a wonderful day in Tropea with a walk around the city and long swims on the beach, we came across La Lamia in the evening around 10pm. After a short wait, a table was set for us and we sat at a tasteful table in an almost idyllic setting. For us Berliners, the way we imagine and desire Italy, but it has never been like this in Berlin and Germany. The order was taken quickly. Due to their hunger, both children took the main course along with their parents' starter. Everything was served quickly and very professionally, corresponding requests were immediately taken into account and fulfilled. The food itself was very good overall. Beef fillet with rocket and medium fried cherry tomatoes, spaghetti with red prawns and black truffle, pasta filled with mozzarella and grilled sausage with Tropea salad. The steak was exactly as expected, the truffle pasta was fantastic, even with mozzarella, and the sausage was unexpectedly served differently and tasted great. Only the Tropea salad was a little weak, but this is a very high level problem. We really enjoyed ourselves this evening and really good food and great service. Finally Italian cuisine according to our ideas... thank you very much! And not a comment at the end: Rarely have we had the feeling that price and performance go so well together!!!

19/10/2024: Very delicious and romantic! Highly recommended their onion soup! Prices are good. Portions are big. Local vino is good too! Quite charming place to spend an evening with taste of local food. Very beautiful paintings on the walls. Have to be more warm lights on the tables.

16/10/2024: Just what my boyfriend and I were looking for. Simple and good pasta. The peperoncino spaguetti had a quick. The porcini in the tagliatelle was so soft and buttery. They had good vegetarian options, as we often struggle to find non-fishy and meaty variations in Tropea. Reccomend.

22/03/2025: “More appearance than reality” - that describes this restaurant quite well. It looks stylish from the outside, but unfortunately the food doesn't live up to expectations - the price/performance ratio isn't right. The portion of the ravioli with shrimp and truffle was incredibly small and was eaten within two minutes (22 euros!), and some of the pasta was cold and had apparently been warmed up. The “hamburger” (according to the menu) only consisted of meat + fries (tasted okay), only the pork sausages with baked potatoes were convincing. In some cases a new decision was necessary because several dishes and drinks on the menu were not available. In my opinion, it doesn't fit with the stylish ambience if you get your Coke in a can. The service was solid and the waiter was friendly. Overall, unfortunately not a recommendation.

14/01/2025: Maximum marks for a pleasant surprise in Vibo Valentia. Too bad it's not advertised as it deserves... EXTRAORDINARY pizza... especially fried foods and TOP arancini not to mention the desserts. SUPER service In practice there are no weak points. I repeat, it's a shame as it isn't advertised as it deserves.

29/12/2024: We took three takeaway pizzas, a portion of chops and two of home-made potatoes. I don't know how it's possible but the pizzas were burnt in some places (one of the three even had three big holes because it was so burnt that pieces were removed) and at the same time raw in the remaining parts. Same thing for the chops, very cooked on the outside and raw on the inside. We didn't bring them back just because we live far away but, in hindsight, we were wrong not to do so as we had indigestion the next day. Plus, everything was excessively salty since we hadn't stopped drinking water since the night before. You have to know how to make Neapolitan pizza, otherwise you'll poison people. I gave one star because I couldn't give less but rest assured that I will tell my experience to anyone who asks me for advice.

22/02/2025: Una scoperta entusiasmante che catapulta in maniera eccellente in un percorso enogastronomico semplice, gustoso e raffinato nel quale si pone grande risalto ed attenzione al pescato locale, sempre freschissimo e reperito dai pescatori del posto, spesso abbinato a prodotti stagionali del territorio combinati in modo impeccabile dallo chef Tonino Pisano al quale va tutto il mio plauso. Accurata la carta dei vini quasi esclusivamente regionali.

25/11/2024: Una dei locali migliori sulla zona per quanto riguarda il pesce , ambiente sereno e rilassato , ottime tartare di pesce freschissimo.

Breakfast with excellent croissants with a lot of filling inside, cappuccino and coffee are the best in the area, the barista is very helpful and courteous, a very nice and professional man. 27/11/2024: We've been vacationing in Pizzo for 3 years, a must for us is staying with you at least twice. Quiet restaurant in a side street, very good food and always cheerful staff.
