30/12/2024: Everything is very good, from fried to dessert. Very kind staff and very nice atmosphere, slightly more secluded and quiet than most of the other places in the area. Perfect for a quick meal or a snack and with quite low prices.

06/06/2025: Amazing! Professionalism, competence, cordiality and kindness distinguish the Popilia Country Resort. Last weekend with my sister-in-law we took advantage of all the services: impeccable! An unforgettable sensory experience. A round of applause to all the staff (receptionist, spa, restaurant and cleaning). Immersed in nature with a fabulous view. This is the Calabria that we like and are proud of. Highly recommended!

16/11/2024: Update, this summer I go to get a braid with almonds and they give me the one from the day before, it was rubbery and also much smaller than last year's, I point out to them that it was from the day before, that it was rubbery and as always they climb up the mirrors, the funniest thing is when I tell them that they were smaller than other years and they find the excuse that they had come out smaller, in fact the next day I go in to get another one and notice that they were the same old ones from the day before, I left without buying anything, they won't see me again, shame for the tourists who are literally almost made fun of....., the pos?? they don't even know what it is, it's always broken, the receipt on request... This year I came back, in July I always took the ice cream cone with cream "3 ice cream scoops plus cream, always paid €4, end of July same ice cream cone 3 ice cream scoops with cream €4.50, I point out that I had always paid €4 and they climb up the mirrors saying that evidently "for 10 times, even herself" they were wrong, but who are they trying to kid, I return at the end of August, always ice cream cone with cream €4.50, the problem is that this time instead of 3 ice cream scoops they put 2, I point out that normally they were 3 ice cream scoops and they arrogantly curse me for a liar "as the people of Tropea very often, always want to be right", he tells me that if I wanted he would put the third scoop even if it wasn't foreseen, I make him put it on, it's not about the money but the mockery The mask is optional, you ask him to put it on "even if they have to put it on by law" but they pretend nothing happened, unfortunately Tropea checks are not carried out, the police were around but nobody was checking

20/05/2025: I ordered the catch of the day, and it was just as good as I hoped—fresh and full of flavor. The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. The only thing missing was some background music to set the mood. Otherwise, everything was spot on!

20/05/2025: We were disappointed after reading the positive reviews. The greeting was not friendly, we were sat on a small table in the corner both looking at a wall. The rest of the restaurant was virtually empty but set out with larger tables. Service was unprofessional and surly. There was no explanation of the menu, and we were asked did we want the pizzeria or restaurant menu - why did we have to choose one or the other? The decor is very hard and brightly lit. The sound is echoing and we heard every word of a conversation at the other side of the room. The staff are unfriendly and don’t smile. My crab pasta was full of whole small crabs, which were inedible. My partner enjoyed his mussels and clams. Overall there was little atmosphere, the staff in the kitchen paid no notice to the customers, they were watching a screen on the pass, and let two young inexperienced individuals struggle. The food was not enjoyable. I told the waiter I wasn’t enjoying it but he just shrugged and walked away. The owners need to consider the customer experience from greeting, ambience, service and food. Edit: The rant below from the owner demonstrates how willing he is to take on feedback. Restaurants are facing tough times and need to take on feedback from customers, not berate them publicly for taking the time to make useful comments. Never mind, there are plenty of lovely restaurants in Tropea.

18/05/2025: Posto incantevole e molto romantico. Ci ë stato consigliato dal signore che ci ospita. Non avevo prenotato ed era tutto pieno. Il signore che prende le prenotazioni ci ha chiesto di tornare in 20 minuti. Ci hanno dato il tavolo e ci siamo subito sentiti coccolati. I due ragazzi argentini che servono, sono molto gentili e competenti. Il menù è molto bello e vario. Tanti piatti, che per noi erano una novità. Tutto estremamente buono , di grande qualità e prezzi adeguati. Complimenti a tutti e tre camerieri e naturalmente un grande elogio alla cucina,. Avete reso il nostro anniversario una serata speciale. :) …non dimenticare: il bacio.

31/05/2025: Siamo stati a pranzo al ristorante Il Nostrano, in una piacevole posizione sul lungomare. Il locale è arredato con gusto soprattutto all' esterno dove domina il bianco. Ho apprezzato molto l’antipasto misto con assaggi vari e la pepata di cozze, davvero saporita (avrei messo qualche crostino in più). Le linguine ai frutti di mare, invece, mi hanno convinto meno: troppo condite per i miei gusti, e un po’ invadenti rispetto al sapore del pesce. Il personale è stato gentile e disponibile anche abbiamo dovuto chiedere più volte di portare l'acqua però il locale era pieno e l'attesa è giustificata. Si può scegliere se mangiare all’interno o all’esterno, cosa sempre gradita. Nel complesso, un buon pranzo.

The dishes impress with their highest quality, fresh regional ingredients, and creative yet authentic preparation. We were particularly impressed by the homemade pasta dish with freshly caught fish – delicious and perfectly balanced. The experience was rounded off by an excellent wine selection and the stunning view of the sea. A restaurant that we can recommend with a clear conscience – and one that we will definitely visit again on our next visit to Tropea.

05/05/2025: Abbiamo preso 2 panini dal menù salatoooo...32 euro 2 panini compresi 2 euro di take away(?).....panini molto al di sotto della media...carne polpa di manzo cruda...pieno di cipolla che copriva tutti i sapori...bacon troppo cotto senza sapore...in poche parole un panino da dimenticare...

27/04/2025: Sono andato a mangiare fuori con dei miei amici, eravamo curiosi dato che passando vediamo sempre il locale. Devo dire che esteticamente è veramente bello ma il menù dei panini è limitato, ha quattro panini in croce a cui non si possono nemmeno apportare modifiche. Una mia amica ha chiesto educatamente al cameriere se fosse possibile modificare un panino (voleva solo un panino con hamburger e patatine) ma nemmeno il tempo di finire di parlare che il proprietario è arrivato correndo, dicendo con irruenza "assolutamente no" ; se la situazione si fosse fermata qua il tutto sarebbe stato ancora accettabile ma poi lui ha aggiunto "al massimo si può togliere la cipolla o le salse ALTRIMENTI VE LE TOGLIETE VOI LE COSE QUANDO ARRIVA IL PANINO AL TAVOLO". Siamo rimasti pietrificati dai modi sgarbati e assolutamente non necessari, visto il quesito posto in maniera tranquilla e gentile. La stessa cosa si sarebbe potuta dire con toni piú garbati. Lo sconsigliamo.

03/05/2025: One of my favorite places for the atmosphere, the taste of the dishes (I love their pastrami) and the choice of wines, always perfectly recommended. A place to know and to return to.

03/05/2025: L'atmosfera è morbida e rilassante, il menù è apparentemente semplice ma al contempo ricercato, la carta dei vini è varia, ci siamo affidati ai consigli del proprietario che ha scelto per noi un calice in abbinamento alle nostre portate. Il passito con i dolci homemade, in finale è stato il 🔝 di un crescendo. È un luogo da conoscere e dove tornare.
