Stunning pasta dishes! My husband is still raving about how wonderful the Strangozzi al profumo di mare (fresh spaghetti with mixed seafood) was - incredibly fresh pasta and a great range of seafood in a delicious sauce. Large portions and served with bread (in a paper bag). I had the linguine with prawns and pistachio which was tasty. Local wine was easy drinking.

Delicious pizza and one of the cheapest in Tropea. Highly recommended! Our top pick is the A Vampata pizza from N'duja—delicious.

Beautiful and charming location in the heart of Tropea. But I really can't say enough about the deliciousness of the food I tasted. I didn't go for typical products, but for classic seafood and meat dishes. I don't recommend the seafood appetizers; they're really nothing special. The ravioli with shrimp and scallops were good. Otherwise, everything was normal, with excessive prices. The wait for the food was exaggerated, despite the good service and numerous staff. Worth a look.

Found on a recommendation. The charming atmosphere begins right at the entrance, where you stand on a glass platform overlooking the old wine cellar. The tables are well spaced. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and conversation. Luckily, we reserved a table. Very attentive service. Delicious bread served in a paper bag. The €2 cover charge is reasonable. Good selection of typical Italian dishes. We enjoyed the food, and the meat was exceptionally tender.

I fell in love with this place. Everything about it is perfect. Efficient and friendly service, delicious food, and excellent wines! We went here every day during our stay, and our biggest disappointment was when the restaurant was closed for a day and we had to eat elsewhere (and we really regretted it, as it was a poor experience). The atmosphere in the restaurant's garden, surrounded by beautiful old buildings, is also captivating. ❤️

Great atmosphere, friendly service. Delicious food and drinks. We managed to wander in from the street by chance, but moments later, lines were already forming, so it's worth making a reservation or arriving early.

When asked about vegetarian dishes, the waiter answered with specific options. The ambiance was very nice, the alley is truly unique. The food was delicious, and the service was very attentive.

19/10/2025: “Incipit” is almost a hidden gem, tucked away from the busy High Street and tourist-heavy areas. This spot comes highly recommended by locals — and for good reason. It has a gorgeous outdoor terrace with views over the piazza, but the real wow factor comes when you choose to dine indoors… in the cave! Yes, a beautifully lit, cosy cave with an incredible atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The menu is fantastic, offering a perfect mix of local favourites and creative twists. We went all out and enjoyed the full experience: antipasto, primo, and secondo. The tuna tartare was outstanding, bursting with freshness and flavour. I had the Fileja al ’Nduja ragu, which was absolutely mind-blowing — and high on my Calabria culinary wish list. My partner chose the hazelnut risotto, which was equally exceptional. For mains, I had the pistachio-crusted seabass while my partner had the cod — both dishes beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended if you want an authentic, high-quality dining experience away from the tourist traps. Grazie mille per il fantastico servizio 🙏👌👏
