30/08/2025: We sat down in the square in August at 8:45 PM, 11 of us. Orders were taken piecemeal and served haphazardly: first food without drinks, then half-finished drinks, and finally—when everyone had already finished—our celiac friend's gluten-free pizza, which he ate alone. Bread never arrived, drinks forgotten, pizzas from those who hadn't eaten never seen, despite numerous promises of preferential passage of our order (perhaps for the next day). The menu stated that a platter was "minimum for two people" at €32, but the staff's explanation was a puzzle: when we said there were eight of us, we were told that four platters was not enough; when we ordered five, we discovered that the platters were actually charged "per person" and not "per couple." In fact, the "platter for eight" had five pieces of each, so three people were left to watch. The menu was poorly written, and the order management was even worse. One of us, after being told several times that the pizza we'd chosen from the menu wasn't available, had to impatiently ask them to decide which pizza was available. The service was surreal: a single waiter (presumably the owner) would take the orders, leave them unfinished, and disappear for long minutes, while the others watched. When we complained, the owner never admitted a mistake: he told us that "you must have misunderstood, or I misunderstood," and urged us to stay calm "because I even gave you a front-row table to watch the concert," all with a joke that was more than out of place. Final justification? "It's chaotic in August, and it's a special night." With the square full but only 50 people in the dining room, it's pure incompetence; the chaos wasn't in his restaurant: if you don't know how to manage, you reduce the seating. In the end, we paid €20 each, including those who didn't eat. Disorganized, slow, arrogant, and even ironic about complaints: a disaster to be avoided!

14/08/2025: We ordered two pizzas, a Margherita and a Diavola with 'nduja, and were pleasantly surprised by their melt-in-your-mouth crust! The owner was incredibly kind and friendly, and we even met the pizza chef and congratulated him in person. This will definitely be our go-to pizzeria for our next trips to Palmi! 31/08/2025: My friends and I called this beach club to see if there was a table for three. We were told we could go there within 15 minutes of calling. In reality, when we arrived after the 15 minutes indicated, we were told they'd seat us shortly, but it took an hour before we were actually given a table. Our order was taken by a waitress who wasn't particularly friendly, unlike the rest of the staff, who were much more welcoming. I ordered a mixed fried fish dish that didn't list sausages among the ingredients listed, but they were included in the dish. I personally don't eat pork, and if they had been listed, I would have had them removed before ordering. For me, it wasn't a big problem, but for someone with allergies or sensitivity to meat, it would have been more of a hassle; simply pointing them out would have been enough.

28/08/2025: We visited this place today with my friend and we absolutely loved everything. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t speak English, but it wasn’t a problem at all — we still managed to place our order without any issues. Everything was served quickly and smoothly, and the waiters were pleasant and friendly. They even helped us choose the perfect wine for the evening, which we truly appreciated. The atmosphere of this place is incredibly charming, and it definitely deserves a visit.

08/06/2025: Ho lavorato a Reggio per due anni... Ho scoperto questo bar e ho trovato un personale accogliente che ti fa sentire a casa... Dal proprietario ai ragazzi stessi professionali, educati, pronti a soddisfare qualsiasi tua esigenza... In particolare complimenti a Francesco per la sua professionalità e serietà... Ho visto davvero poche persone lavorare con la sua passione... Consiglio a chi si trova a venire a Reggio di passare... Cibo ottimo e staff unico...

24/08/2025: All pizzas available as gluten free, vegan (no cheese) by request. Very affordable & thin pizzas , went 3 times while my stay in the area, ideal for lunch & snack.

26/08/2025: I went to this restaurant on Ferragosto (August 15th) for lunch with friends and family, and unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience at all. We sat down around 1:00 PM, and the first courses arrived around 3:45 PM. I understand it's a holiday and the waits are a bit longer, but waiting almost 3 hours for our dishes is inconceivable! The girl who served us, unfortunately, wasn't at all polite; she had a very annoyed look, and when we asked her questions, she wouldn't respond politely, in addition to the unprofessional service. I've been to S. Barbara before, and I can confirm that overall the food is good, but unfortunately, the rest of the experience was very disappointing.

19/06/2025: Terrible experience, in the past we had already ordered two pizzas for home delivery and one had arrived completely burnt and the other with holes (I don't know how to have the courage to send out pizzas like that) after a long time I decided to give it another chance, because everyone makes a mistake, this time I ordered a pizza and two beers on deliveroo, I only received the pizza, the rider said that they only delivered the pizza. I tried to make a complaint via the app but obviously there wasn't even a receipt. At this point I called the pizzeria and they told me in an unkind and very arrogant way if you want the beers come and get them here. After I paid for the delivery service, as if the mistake was mine. If you are not able to provide a service, simply don't do it. It's not so much for the mistake, because it can happen, but the rudeness.

08/09/2025: The focaccias are phenomenal, the rest is meh, the staff is unwilling to work, and it's very expensive compared to other bakeries. If you're going for the focaccias, okay, they're good, but the rest is better elsewhere. I got two filled sandwiches for €9, never again.

27/07/2025: Terrible experience. The takeout bag you see in the photo cost €7, including two zeppole, two eggplants, and two potato croquettes. It's shameful, as is the fact that they didn't even provide a napkin. Poor tourists... Never again.

11/09/2025: Non-existent service; it took an hour to order. I asked for a glass of sparkling water, and after 40 minutes they said they didn't have any. I don't recommend it.

13/08/2025: Location: Nice and spacious Service: Very helpful staff Food: A bit of a sore point: I had a Grand Marnier affogato. It was good, but 80% of it was cream, and very little ice cream, although very good. But I don't think it's worth €7 at all. A gelato sundae is better; it costs less and is more filling.

18/08/2025: A long wait for a decidedly mediocre dinner. The mussels au gratin were anemic because they weren't cooked properly, and the pasta with clams had plenty of shells but few clams, a sea of pepper and raw olive oil covering up the flavor.

10/08/2025: Whenever I can, my wife and I treat ourselves to a grilled lunch. What can I say? A seafood-based lunch, from appetizer to main course, starting with spaghetti with mussels and clams. Everything was perfect, a true delight for the palate. The lady was a simply exceptional cook, Margherita was a star, and Paolo alone served as if there were three of them. Highly recommended. You don't know what you're missing. Try it and believe it. Nino Furfaro...

19/09/2025: Like many other reviews, I can't give zero stars, unfortunately! We had fried mussels and peppered mussels as an appetizer. Nothing to complain about the fried mussels, but as soon as they arrived at the table, the mussels had a strong, unpleasant odor. I pointed this out to the waiter, who was surprised because everyone else was eating without complaining. Then, someone who I believe is the owner came over and said that their mussels had a different smell because they were "Spanish." What???? Two first courses, ravioli and a pasta alla fiocina. The menu for the latter lists "mussels (always the strong-smelling ones, so discard them immediately), clams (there was one shelled, I swear), scampi (a claw and a small piece with the shell, and that's it!). Luckily, we got a water for the "modest" price of 78 euros, without even a single discount. If you write them, the reviews tell you to tell them in person. If you tell them, they get offended and tell you the strong smell is because they come from Spain. Basically, stay away!

23/07/2025: Excellent bar with a deli open for lunch. Traditional Calabrian fare, but also excellent fish, seafood, and pasta dishes. The staff are courteous and professional, even offering personal advice.

27/09/2025: We dined outdoors in a very welcoming setting, amidst decorative lights and well-kept trees. Everything was very clean and tidy; the staff was helpful, professional, and attentive to customer requests; very fast service. The mixed fried appetizer was good, but could be improved; the pizza (4 different ones) was well-leavened with excellent quality ingredients; the dessert: tiramisu and caramel cheesecake were truly delicious. The yeast-raised weizen beer was very good. The price was fair. A beautiful and relaxing evening, worth repeating!!!

03/09/2025: The setting was really beautiful, with trees and lights. Being outdoors, despite the crowds, it was very quiet, which I appreciated. We ordered three pizzas to share, and each one was better than the last. I recommend the one with zucchini cream. We also ordered a mixed fried food, which was good, but I would have made it a little larger. The prices were fair! I recommend it.

07/09/2025: The place seemed promising, as the waiter initially appeared very kind and friendly. However, the experience turned out to be completely disappointing. When we ordered, we were informed that they didn't have fresh fish, which was quite surprising considering the restaurant is located right on the harbor. We waited an hour for our appetizer, during which we watched our waiter spend a long time with another table, while a customer insistently stroked his arm. Eventually, we had to ask another waiter to serve us, as the first one had practically disappeared until the end of the evening. We ordered a mixed seafood appetizer and fried calamari and shrimp. What we were served was far from what we expected: dishes dipped in stale oil, of questionable quality (we speak with knowledge, as we work at our table as a pizza chef, cook, and bartender). The appetizer was so dry it was inedible, and it was also saltless. Furthermore, we were confirmed that everything was frozen. For our first course, we had asked for scialatielli, but we were served linguine without any warning or explanation. The flavor was acceptable, but the presentation was terrible. The octopus, on the other hand, was practically impossible to eat: after tasting it, I had to chew a tiny piece for three minutes. The mashed potatoes were on the verge of becoming a tasteless soup, and the confit tomatoes were nothing but poorly chopped, flavorless pieces. The only passable thing was the pizza, which at least allowed us to eat something before leaving. In short, a frustrating experience, with unacceptable service and food far below what a restaurant in this location should offer.

04/09/2025: Nothing exceptional, it seemed more like a tourist spot. The service was rather arrogant, the guys weren't even wearing uniforms. The peppered mussels were decent, as was the grilled sea bream, but you can make them at home too. The spaghetti with sea urchins was mediocre; it tasted more like garlic and oil with a hint of sea urchin. The other first course, which I don't remember, also didn't impress me. Just to do my homework, that's all. I recommend not setting up tables at the end of the beach, next to the cliff; there can be unpleasant encounters, for which the restaurant is absolutely not responsible.
