15/03/2026: When you step foot into Gino's restaurant, you're no longer in Rende, but straight into China! There are places that aren't simply restaurants, but part of your personal history. For me, Gino's "Pechino" is one of them. I've been going there since I was little, and it's where I discovered what it truly means to eat properly prepared Chinese cuisine. In a city full of places offering confusing menus—sushi next to frozen "Chinese dishes"—Pechino is one of the very few places left serving authentic Chinese cuisine, with respect for tradition and quality. The difference is immediately noticeable: many dishes are clearly handmade (I highly recommend the egg rolls and the sweet and sour pork), with textures, aromas, and flavors that have nothing in common with the frozen or industrial products that unfortunately can be found in so many other low-quality restaurants. It's thanks to this place that I learned to recognize the difference between a prepared dish and a "reheated" one. If you want to experience real Chinese cuisine—the kind that's authentic, carefully prepared, and made with care—Gino's is a must. Recommended for anyone who wants to go beyond and discover something authentic!

11/08/2025: I recommend this Lido. It's a very beautiful place. The management and service are impeccable. The sandwiches and dishes are very good and even made with organic products. Thank you for these moments spent together.

20/11/2025: Great night the day after the Jamiroquai show in Assago. A unique and welcoming venue in the city center. Friendly people and a deluxe selection of cured meats, cheeses, and wines. Even from my hometown, the Marche. Congrats, Matteo.

07/12/2025: During a drive through Aspromonte on a gloomy December day, we from Turin on vacation stopped here, drawn by the parked cars. We discovered paradise. Sandwiches of all kinds, freshly made with local products. Sweets and other products... a marvel.

13/12/2025: I ordered three pizzas on Deliveroo, one of which was stretched. The pizzas arrived cold and burned. The stretched pizza was also cut in half and placed in two different boxes, something no one had requested. The mixed fried food never arrived. When I asked the delivery person for an explanation, he initially said "there was no mixed fried food." After I pointed out the receipt for the order, he corrected himself, saying the pizzeria had forgotten it. At that point, I called the pizzeria. The girl responded rather annoyed, saying she knew nothing about it. I then asked to speak to the person in charge; on the first call, she refused and hung up. I called back, now rightfully annoyed, and was put through to the owner, who coldly and with a total lack of respect for the customer, passed the buck, blaming Deliveroo for everything (except, of course, the burnt pizzas). There was a lack of courtesy, attention, and professionalism. Result: €40 spent on cold, burnt pizzas and a mixed fry I never received. Rating: 0 stars.

12/10/2025: I finally tried the aperitif, a nice platter with a nice draft beer. Breakfast, good coffee, decent croissant even if not artisanal, modern place, fast staff.

07/08/2025: Do you know what a mocktail is? A combination of creativity and physics, with lots of ice. I'm practically teetotal, I know, no one's perfect, but the non-alcoholic cocktails at the happy bar ARE AMAZING!

20/07/2025: Excellent hotel, exceptional staff, especially Mr. Fabio, who seriously recommended places to eat excellent fish... top restaurants... not like others... the only flaw being a 4-star hotel on the sea there is no common or personal area where you can hang out wet costumes and towels... good breakfast but not always for everything, especially for those like me who got off around 9:20... inside there is a very nice permanent exhibition for those who like pop art... I think I will return next year, spacious, clean room, comfortable bathroom and even Sky in every room... very comfortable bed... parking... mini bar and safe included

18/11/2025: The owner is lovely, and her daughter is in the kitchen cooking. We absolutely loved the food. Just be aware that the portions are quite large. Excellent value for money.

18/11/2025: This place is truly amazing! The food, service and the atmosphere are amazing! Over the years we have tried multiple times to dine here, only to find out that they were closed. I've dined here twice on this visit to Scalea. I will continue to check their Facebook page for opening hours.

25/12/2025: The starter was expensive and poor, the service was very slow, we waited almost two hours for the pizza, we didn't have a good experience at all

13/12/2025: Unfortunately, we had a bad experience at this restaurant. The food was probably the worst we had during our entire trip in Italy: the risotto and pizza were both quite bad, perhaps they were rushing as there was a very large group of people who came shortly after us. Worst was when we got up to pay, we waited for quite a while and then the man at the cash counter was not pleasant and waved us off, as if telling us to get out. Second star for the young lady who really tried her best to understand us, even though she didn't speak much English.

I hope someone takes over management soon; it would be a real shame to abandon it 🥺 I've known it since I was little, and we always went there to have fun at parties 🥲 It's a really beautiful place with all those palm trees lit up at night. It used to host unforgettable parties with important guests. I hope it's open again soon 🙏🏼
