04/05/2025: Zeker één van de beste restaurants in Scalea. Gelegen op een sfeervol pleintje in het oude centrum. Beperkte menukaart maar meestal staat dit borg voor verse en kwaliteitsvolle producten én dat bleek ook zo te zijn. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Een topervaring.

28/08/2025: I had the pleasure of dining in a magical place, nestled in a magical setting: Stilo, in my opinion one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Francesco and the staff were always attentive and welcoming. The platters were filled with delicious, exquisitely Calabrian delicacies. The location is truly enchanting. Highly recommended!

28/06/2025: L’Istrione is located in Stilo, in the province of RC, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Together with my friends we opted to have lunch in this restaurant, which I would define as a gem; both for the interior, all completely in stone with a touch of modernity, and for the exterior, since it allows you to be outdoors away from any type of noise (especially cars). We opted for a fish appetizer, I would define abundant and very fresh; they then recommended us to try a first course based on cream of asparagus and lemon with shellfish that I would define SUPERLATIVE. as a second course we had a central grilled fish and a mixed fried fish, also very very good. We then opted for a good Calabrian beer; the restaurant, being the home of beer, has numerous really good craft beers. Very young and competent staff, attentive to every type of customer need. Adequate and not excessive bill. We will return!

24/06/2025: Historic pizzeria in Serra San Bruno. Wood-fired with top-quality ingredients. Among other dishes, they offer braccioli, rice, and potatoes. Delicious. The menu also features salads, pasta, and traditional dishes like tagliata.

02/04/2025: Let me start by saying that the food is excellent, but it used to be even better. Lately, the dishes have been a bit too flavorful; if they could improve this small aspect, it would really be top notch. Overall, full marks.

20/08/2025: I've always been a regular at this place, but after my last experience, I've decided not to return. I ordered an Argentinean entrecôte, medium rare: half of it was completely raw and therefore inedible. I should point out that a similar incident had already happened to me a few months ago, but at the time I thought it might be a mistake. This time, however, I reported the problem to the staff: the response was that I should have reported it immediately, and they didn't even offer to replace the dish. 😳 When it came to the bill, I brought up the situation again, even before they gave me the total, but despite this, I was still charged the full amount. I asked for an explanation, but nothing: no remade dish, no discount, just a simple apology... and finally, the teasing of offering me licorice (to which I didn't even respond). My only regret is that I didn't take a photo of the dish: I was so nervous that I didn't think of it. I understand that mistakes can happen in the kitchen, but the handling of the issue was completely flawed. Customer service: zero.

17/08/2025: I returned to this place after a while and noticed a very positive change in management. The pizza, made with Neapolitan-style dough, was excellent. The desserts, both the almond tart and the tiramisu, were delicious. Very friendly staff. Recommended for a stop in Sila.

03/08/2025: Fermati per caso, per poi ripartire per raggiungere un villagio tutistico sulla costa Ionica,ci siamodiretti a pranzo in questo ristorante.Proprietario gentilissimo ci ha accolto molto calorosamente facendoci sentire subito a ns agio.Abbiamo gustato piatti tipici calabresi cucinati veramente bene.Consiglio questo ristorante anche perche' molto vicino uscita autostrada.

08/04/2025: In Cariati for a motorcycle event we went to the Santoro pastry bar for breakfast which has an agreement with the Fior di Cappero B&B. Mr. Antonio was very kind and I tasted one of the best crapfen of my life. Highly recommended for the authenticity of true classic pastry making

08/09/2025: I've been there several times and it's always a pleasure. The place is welcoming, the food is good, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The staff is always courteous and smiling, making you feel at home. The seafood dishes are fresh and carefully prepared. A genuine place you'll gladly return to.

07/09/2025: We stopped at this place on our way to the beach for a quick bite to eat: two sandwiches and a small mozzarella and prosciutto appetizer. Having seen the words FAST FOOD on the sign, especially the word Fast, which means quick, we thought we'd have a quick meal and then go to the beach. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, because the service was anything but prompt; in fact, it was a slow agony!!! As we entered the payment area, we wanted to order right there to save time, and then sit at the table on the outdoor veranda. The owner, I believe, a woman in her late 70s, instead of taking our order, sent us to the table to place it there and would have sent a waiter to take it for us. There were two staff members serving tables and taking orders: a woman in her late 60s and a bald man also in the same age range. They were going back and forth for miles and miles. From there, we realized we'd landed in a place that was, to say the least, difficult, because they didn't have enough staff for the service they were supposed to provide. There were about 12 or 13 people on the outdoor veranda, including two tables, and they'd already been waiting a long time without receiving anything. People, of course, had started complaining, even threatening to leave without eating. My wife and I met the same inexorable fate: after waiting at least 20 or 25 minutes to order, we waited another 55 minutes before we were served our first dishes. We had opted for two sandwiches with hamburgers, fries, mozzarella, and salad, and a ham and mozzarella appetizer, which would have taken a maximum of 5 minutes to prepare. Another 55 minutes later, the sandwiches we'd ordered arrived, and just after about 10 minutes, which weren't even that great at €7.50 each, plus two surcharges for a total of €2 for fries, mozzarella, and salad, plus a €3 cover charge—the so-called nonexistent service. So, already pissed off enough about the terrible service, an hour and 15 minutes to eat something, when we went to pay the bill, they even charged us €30.50. A REAL SHAME!!!! Not even an apology for the terrible service, not to mention the steep bill. So I advise you not to eat there because they're not honest at all, nor respectful, and on top of that, they don't even know how to do their job. Because if you have staffing issues, instead of letting people in and ripping them off, they should at least have the foresight to be honest and tell their customers they have to wait at least an hour to be served. Otherwise, they should kick people out of the place instead of making them sit down and treating them badly. It's their fault for the poor service, because we, as gentlemen, could have eaten and not paid, and instead, we didn't do that because we're not as dishonest as they are. If they'd at least offered a discount as an apology, they would have saved face, but in my opinion, they don't even have that. Places like these that are open four months a year and during those four months rip people off, especially tourists, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!
