12/04/2026: Interesting place, rustic yet modern. We had a seafood and rustic appetizer, and it was an appetizer that doubled as dinner, and what a dinner it was!!! A taste of everything that's delicious in Calabria. An excellent tasting experience. Barone Rosso is a place I recommend if you're in Gioiosa Ionica 😃

06/11/2025: An experience, not just a culinary one, truly original and even more surreal. The pizza is thin and cooked to perfection... impeccable... but the rest is worth telling: each customer orders, picks up their pre-portioned pizza, finds a seat and sits down, enjoys their pizza strictly without cutlery or other unnecessary frills, all without the management's intervention in any way. Afterwards, the customer organizes themselves to deposit the leftovers in the designated recycling bins... In short, a do-it-yourself pizzeria that works great. It should win the award not only for the deliciousness of the pizza, but also for optimizing time and space, and for minimizing waste. Congratulations... Finally, I would like to remember with emotion the dearest Franco; he will be proud of his two daughters who continue his work with tireless passion.

09/09/2025: Truly excellent restaurant. Every time I'm here in Calabria on vacation, I choose to eat there because it truly is one of the best aperitifs in the area. I usually go there in a group of three, spending €10-20 each, which is absolutely worth it. Exceptional value for money. As for the staff, I have nothing to complain about; they're truly kind and often friendly; we've never had a misunderstanding. The wait is practically non-existent. The atmosphere may not be the best, but the sea view outside while eating is so perfect. The appetizer is truly exquisite and absolutely worth it; every time I eat there, it's our main course. Not to mention the pasta, which is truly flavorful and not at all bland like it often can be. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area; it's absolutely worth it! Every time I come here, it's the first place I try.

20/04/2026: We took advantage of a weekend package. The service was definitely worth the price; in fact, we even got more than we expected. The room was simple and very clean. It was just a shame that a little light filtered through the curtain in the morning. Unfortunately, this is always an inconvenience for those who love total darkness like me. But that's subjective. The service at the restaurant was very fast and efficient. The food was tasty; we enjoyed everything. The spa... Beautiful, with a heated pool large enough for those, like me, who love swimming and not just soaking. The atmosphere was pleasant; I could perhaps only suggest more thorough maintenance. The staff was very friendly. It wasn't a busy period, so they were very flexible with the hours, which was much appreciated. Overall, it was a lovely weekend; we hope to return in the future.

13/12/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant today. The welcome was perfect, and the owner was incredibly attentive. He pampered us by seating us in a more private and quiet room since we arrived with our sleeping baby. He then explained the menu and recommended dishes. We had a traditional appetizer, followed by onion soup and spaghetti with fish, followed by fried calamari and chips. Everything was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the owner's presence was a real pleasure. We're so happy to have discovered this highly recommended little place; we'll definitely be back.

09/10/2025: I stayed at the hotel for two nights with a friend and ate at the restaurant one evening. -The hotel is fantastic. It's in a fantastic location right in the heart of Tropea, and we were even lucky enough to have a small balcony overlooking the square. The breakfast was good, and the coffee was delicious. -The food was good. The enthusiastic owner gave us great recommendations for fresh food and treated us to local delicacies. 06/06/2026: I was there for the first time and was truly impressed. I tried the spaghetti with mussels and clams, expertly cooked, flavorful, and with decidedly fresh ingredients. The highlight is definitely the excellent value for money, which is not a given these days. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service lives up to expectations. It's officially become a place I'll definitely return to. Highly recommended!

01/04/2026: I order pizzas and sandwiches for lunch, and they're truly delicious. I haven't tried the pasta dishes, but I did spot some lasagna at the counter, which looked delicious. The takeout service is quick and efficient.

25/03/2026: The best dough in Cosenza, I often order the focaccia for lunch—it's incredibly crispy and flavorful. For work, I often go to Bonci or Roscioli in Rome, and I can assure you that "Al Solito Posto" is the best for both pizza and arancini, not to mention the very low price. EXCELLENT, I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE.

25/08/2025: Off the beaten path, you'll find authentic cuisine. Pizzeria Ristorante San Francesco offers just that: traditional Calabrian cuisine, as it should be. Following Google's info (thanks to reviewers), we found this place. There's no showy display designed to impress (the exterior doesn't attract tourists, but perhaps that's a good thing). But inside, the truth comes through: excellent ingredients will win you over. A few dishes, but enough to get to know the area, all homemade with home-grown vegetables (grown directly by the owners). The first courses are delicious, as are the appetizers, pizzas, and second courses. But even the wait before tasting excellent Fileja alla Norma or alla Calabrese is worth it. The flavor explodes in your mouth. Simple, yet genuine and sincere, flavors that are missing from the surrounding tourist restaurants. Added to this is a rare kindness and courtesy that make the dinner even more enjoyable and make you say: I'll be back again (which we did). If you have a car and want to experience the simplicity of Calabrian flavors, I recommend going there—it's really worth it. We've been back three times. Congratulations.

20/10/2025: A very nice pub/restaurant near the Reggio Calabria airport. A lovely discovery last winter, and every time I pass by, it's a must-try! The staff is very friendly and helpful, but the real highlight is the potatoes seasoned in various ways, which are a true delight! A unique dish, never tried before! A true specialty! Recommended.

11/08/2025: *A Must-Visit in Reggio Calabria* Stopped by this place and it totally impressed me. Cozy Irish pub vibe, wooden interiors, and walls full of unique details that make you want to look around. The food is outstanding — juicy burgers, amazing potatoes, and delicious cheeses and desserts. Everything pairs perfectly with their great beer selection. Service was friendly and fast, making the whole experience even better. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.
