14/01/2026: Terrible experience for a bakery that, for me, was once one of the best.
Products weighed after being wrapped (never happened in my life 😂😂😂). Not to mention the classic "pitta" that leaves its unmistakable dough behind to disguise itself as a round baguette... The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful; I heard some responses that left me, to say the least, shocked... as if they were doing you the favor of serving you... terrible... The environment was poorly maintained and always the same, poor cleanliness and hygiene, given that they served customers without gloves and/or an apron or lab coat. ...terrible in every way... never again...

30/12/2025: This restaurant is run by a family of swordfish fishermen. We tried excellent dishes (mixed appetizer (meatballs, prosciutto parmigiana), paccheri alla ghiotta, and swordfish rolls).
P.S. Obviously, 90% of the dishes are swordfish-based, and Calabrian wines are included.
30/09/2025: We ate here twice, beautiful setting, friendly helpful staff, but most importantly amazingly fresh, perfectly cooked seafood, we'll be back

23/09/2025: Best pizza for a long time, the base was fresh and tasty, plenty of juicy toppings on the pizza too. Cooked with fresh ingredients while we waited 😋😋 Can't wait to go back. Thanks for the huge pizza 🍕👍🙏

After a long, hot days sail we saw the Pizzeria Barrel wasn't too far from where we were anchored 🤔 We decided to get a pizza to eat on the boat ⛵. So glad we did for €14 we got a pizza that even the two of us found filling and Frittata as a side. The pizza was just what we needed, hot, a large size and delicious 😋😋 The toppings were fresh and just right and the base was amazing ♥️, the potato Frittata were hot and chunky, we couldn't finish them all to be honest.
The night before we set sail we went back for another pizza 🍕, we will definitely be back 👍

30/12/2025: Be careful to not be scammed.
I’m Italian , from Reggio Calabria, but my wife is French and we live in U.S.A.. They made us pay 100 EUR for a lunch worth 30 EUR just because we were speaking english and they thought we were foreign tourists.
A fruit juice, usually worth 2 or 3 EUR in any other bar, was charged 8 EUR.
Avoid this place if you are in Scilla…. there are many better and honest places down there.

14/11/2025: This guest house is nestled in amongst orchards and farms so you end up nicely off the beaten track and in quiet country settings that is easily accessible from lamezia terme and well linked to the coastal road towards Salerno or Reggio. The staff are second to none and extremely accommodating (we arrived a bit later than expected) and kept the rooms perfectly clean. There was a decent enough kitchen (was able to make carbonara and bruschetta). The bed was a bit of a disappointment, it curved heavily in the middle and so you ended up on the sides trying to keep straight. TV and access to netflix etc. was perfect and internet was solid.
Good for folks who want to have calm and quiet at a highly affordable price.
08/10/2025: I come back often, I like it, and I like the location. Don't be put off by the slightly rough final stretch of the road, but that's all. Five rooms, a restaurant/pizzeria. Pleasant and very clean atmosphere. The owner (Antonio) is always available.

02/11/2025: In my opinion, the sushi is among the best on the plain. It's inexpensive and the staff are incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic, full of pandas.
03/09/2025: I just had the most disappointing dining experience of my life at this sushi "restaurant." Despite the unappealing appearance, I was willing to look beyond, but unfortunately, the quality of the food didn't live up to expectations. The sushi I tried was, in my opinion, the worst I've ever tasted. I'm convinced that anyone who praises it as the best has never had the fortune of tasting real sushi; otherwise, they would never call it that. A real disappointment!

The Saline Resort
21/09/2025: We went there for dinner in August, while passing through Saline with my partner, and we were very satisfied: fresh fish, light and tasty dishes. The warm focaccia brought to the table to accompany the dishes as an alternative to bread was excellent.
The Gewürztraminer was a great success.
The table service was very attentive.
20/09/2025: I spent over a week there and if I could, I would live in this beautiful, sunny place, I hope to go back there again 🤗

12/04/2026: It deserves more stars. The pizza is delicious: light, crispy, thin, excellent. The staff is very polite, kind, and welcoming. The place is very cute, with an Egyptian theme.
09/04/2026: Comfortable and well-maintained place, easy to find and well-located.
The owner is truly exceptional.
We ate a rich appetizer, from cold cuts and cheeses to grilled vegetables and hot meatballs. The pizza was excellent, and the stuffed potatoes with sausage were very tasty. We had a great time.
I highly recommend it.
