09/01/2026: Bar Progresso is an icon of Messina and has always been one of the bars with the best products.
It's surprising to see so many negative reviews, but it doesn't matter. The people of Messina will always have this bar in their hearts, and a few reviews won't undermine their long and excellent work.
07/10/2025: Unbeatable coffee and fresh cream gelato. Also try the schiudono, still gelato but with something different. Definitely worth it. Artisans for three generations.

+ Are you open?
- Yes, of course we are
We sit down, the waiter comes and we order. Few minutes later, he brings the drinks and says:
- "I am sorry guys but I forgot to tell you that we're closing in 30 minutes."
Then, having shots with the employees in front of the customers when they are queueing up is not very professional (secondo mie...)
Expensive as the main street in Taormina, spritz senza amore...
03/11/2025: Cozy little place! BUT 12 euros for a bottle of beer - it must be one of the most expensive in town. It was definitely our most expensive beer on our entire vacation

14/07/2025: This bar also sells tickets for the Giamporcaro line. Today, there's a stop-and-go public transport strike. Many of us were waiting for the 11:00 bus, which didn't arrive. I went to ask if the 1:00 bus would arrive. The owner dismissed me brusquely, saying that the 11:00 bus had arrived because he'd sold 30 tickets that morning. If it hadn't, he'd have 30 people complaining, but instead, I was the only one. What can you say to someone who concocts such illogical sophistries?

18/08/2025: I'm giving one star because I can't give zero. We got around 10:00. We took a lane to play number 9, which was malfunctioning, and that's not all. The lanes were asymmetrical (the ball always went in the opposite direction you pointed it).
Really unpleasant.
They didn't have a change machine, and they have games from year 0. Take other bowling alleys as an example.

06/04/2026: Ridiculous service, 20 workers incapable of understanding and willing, once getting the order right not even by mistake, two very simple menus both wrong sandwiches, they put the spicy bag and forget the chips, they are not even good enough to make you pay total incompetents.
23/03/2026: I mostly shop at McDonald's Drive-Thru, but they always get something wrong. I'll just mention the last three times. I asked for Coke without ice and they gave me ice. The next time I asked for BBQ sauce, I got mayonnaise. The last time I paid for spicy fries, they didn't give me the spices or the bag. It's absurd. I'm sorry I can't put a zero.

08/03/2026: The worst I've ever been to. The sandwiches and fries were completely cold, and the cheese in the sandwiches was whole, not even slightly melted. The staff, all young, were rude and bordering on impolite. Dirt everywhere.

23/01/2026: We came here at the end of january and it was one of few open places. We didnt read the reviews before coming in, but the owner was super nice and friendly, very little space inside. We ate arancinis, crepe and some kind of sandwich with coffee. Arancinis were good, 3.50eur each. Crepe and sandwinch were okay. It cost us 24eur so it was fine.
22/10/2025: The terrace with a view is spectacular. The hot chocolate is delicious. The desserts are varied and very good.

P.S.: You can ask where you can take boat, bike, or jeep tours; they'll be able to advise you.

Ridiculous check in procedure. Hopeless for people with physical issues.
