08/05/2026: Friendliness isn't their strong point; they're full of forced smiles. The place is very beautiful and chic in Casale's "piazza buona," with excellent aperitifs and wines. They've launched into various flavors of krumiri and invented savory ones to attract tourists who don't know the original flavor, but the result is always the same: biscuits, not krumiri. Nothing comes close to the real thing.

27/04/2026: I happened upon it, stopped for lunch, and came away with a box of Krumiri. What do I think? A truly interesting place: elegantly furnished, it doesn't look like a Krumiri shop (and what Krumiri!!!!!) or a bistro. Yet this is so much more: I had the chance to speak with the owner, a friendly man, who said something important, something few understand: "It's better to limit the selection and quantity than to limit the quality of what you offer." It may seem trivial, but it's not! It's the mantra that every business owner, especially in the restaurant industry, should have written on their forehead. And these aren't just words: the culinary selection isn't vast, but the vitello tonnato I treated myself to was something more than exquisite! Not to mention the bread, the homemade focaccia (made in their own workshop...) as well as the Krumiri... truly delicious. For me, an experience to repeat as soon as possible, and for those reading this review, an invitation to try it...

23/04/2026: On Easter Monday, two other couples and I had lunch at this restaurant in the center of Dogliani. The atmosphere was welcoming, with plenty of space between tables (a great plus), and the food was truly excellent. The varied and tasty menu satisfied everyone, and the prices were more than fair.

12/06/2026: We've been wanting to stop here for lunch for a while. We had a reservation at 1:00 PM. We showed up at 12, knowing full well they might ask us to wait until the agreed-upon time, so we didn't expect to be seated. The place was practically empty, so asking if there was room, despite arriving well in advance, seemed legitimate. There were no customers in line, no staff near the queue sign: 5 or 6 people wearing the restaurant's t-shirts were gathered around a table. I approached to introduce ourselves, but they asked me to go to the sign where someone was supposed to be arriving. Great start. I went to the sign, and after a couple of minutes, this lady/girl arrived. After consulting the reservation book, she blurted out as if we'd stormed into the kitchen: "Never in my life, you arrived an hour early. It's Sunday!" gesturing. Yes, never in my life, thank you and goodbye. With an introduction like that, you'll never want to try anything else. Scrolling through the reviews, it seems there are several references to this kind individual who "welcomed" us, who at this point is either the owner, convinced she's running an absolutely exclusive restaurant, or if she's an employee, she must surely excel in some other role, otherwise it's inexplicable.

10/06/2026: Spectacular place with a view of Lake Maggiore and the beautiful Arona, you eat well with excellent service, a beautiful atmosphere, where you can spend a nice day, highly recommended place, if you are in the area you should book and come and have a nice meal with a breathtaking view, friendly and very helpful staff, congratulations, well done 👏👏👏👏👏👏

02/06/2026: A fantastic restaurant! It's a nice place with good food, but what impressed me most was the quality of the pizza dough, which I found truly light and digestible. The atmosphere is very warm, and the staff is extremely friendly. The price is truly fair: a generously sized pizza, a medium red draft beer, and a craft liqueur, totaled €34. How many stars? I can't help but give it a perfect rating, because I can't find any flaws. As soon as I have the chance, I'll be back.

01/06/2026: A very pleasant surprise. My favorite restaurant in Stresa since tonight. The food was excellent, the service was very attentive. Andrea, the owner, is a guarantee in every way. And then, you can find the white myrtle. And can we talk about the wine list? And that white Genepy??? Superb dinner, the price was actually low for the quality of the ingredients and the attentive service. Well done, well done, well done!

21/04/2026: A historic Tortona restaurant that continues to stand out over time. After trying several burgers in the city, I can say without hesitation that this is the best. The quality is evident at first bite: well-chosen ingredients, balanced flavors, and a care that's hard to find elsewhere. You can sense the experience and attention to detail. A must-try for those who love truly well-made burgers. Highly recommended. Lots of beers!

09/06/2026: We had breakfast outside, delicious croissants, creamy cappuccino, and very friendly staff. My only complaint is that the tables are too close together. I also understand that outdoor seating is limited.

02/05/2026: The location is beautiful, the food is overrated, nothing extraordinary that you can't find elsewhere. Obviously, dining out in the Galleria Subalpina is an exclusive experience that you rightly pay for. The staff is very cold and aloof, almost as if we were a nuisance. The staff is snobbish; I don't remember them smiling. I've been there a couple of times recently because I was invited, but I don't think I'll go again. There's plenty of competition out there.

26/04/2026: Spectacular! We had a conference group dinner there. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent and they varied the fixed menu to accommodate a friend who cannot tolerate gluten. Looking for a special meal for date night? This is the place.

19/04/2026: We stopped for an aperitif. A pleasant surprise! A truly relaxing, well-kept place where you feel welcome. Reasonable value for money, and the service was exquisitely friendly. I'm pleased to point out that "Il cappellaio matto" also participates in bookcrossing, the free book exchange program.

07/05/2026: A traditional restaurant with excellent service and a delicious menu. Prices are moderately high but commensurate with the incredible quality. The intimate setting offers an elegant yet family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
