25/08/2024: Alla mia collezione di cene al Borgo San Jacopo mancava il menù estivo, così appena rientrata dalle vacanze ho organizzato con una mia cara amica. Abbiamo gustato pienamente i piatti che Claudio e la brigata hanno pensato per la stagione estiva, iniziando con l’anguria nell’amuse bouche, poi la melanzana come antipasto, per proseguire con gli spaghetti e caviale e ostriche , lo scorfano e finale con il piccione. Un girandola di sapori accompagnata dal perfetto abbinamento dei vini proposti da Salvatore, sommelier attento alle novità, capace di introdurre un vino del Libano e poi farti apprezzare le grandi maison italiane. Impeccabile anche l’accoglienza, Nicola, Domiziana ci hanno coccolate per tutta la sera, la loro è stata un’attenzione misurata che insieme alla presenza professionale di Claudio e Lorenzo in sala ha reso la serata speciale.

24/08/2024: Ieri sera siamo stati a cena a borgo San Jacopo …. Sempre una conferma! L’accoglienza è straordinaria…. In particolare grazie a Nicola, restaurant manager, con la complicità deliziosa di Domiziana. Il cibo è stato eccellente con particolare elogio alla melanzana ed il piccione del menu estivo ( da provare) e tutto accompagnato da vini eccezionale scelti con grande cura da Salvatore biscotti che non delude mai ….. una certezza tutto

12/08/2024: In Florence, I got super lucky in that Santa Elisabetta was a 5 min walk from my hotel, and that they had reservations available the next day for lunch, so I booked a table for one. The restaurant is located in a tiny space (just 6 tables) within a 13th century stone tower. There was only one other person in the restaurant during the entire duration of my meal - which meant that both my server and the 'overall server' were pretty focused on us the entire time. My server even escorted me up to the restaurant once I arrived at the location. I don't mean to sound too hyperbolic, but it feels like I ascended to a higher plane of existence when it comes to dining. I ordered the Carte Blanche option, which was a 3 course tasting menu of whatever the chef chose from the main dishes. The meal consisted of 7 separate sections, each with their specific parts. Firstly, it started with an amuse bouche, which consisted of 5 separate small dishes - there was chicken liver, prawn, oysters, and so on. It was in this very first meal that I realized I was going to have a meal that far exceeded the quality of anything that I've had before. Next, the bread came out, and this bread was just astounding. I was seeing types of bread I've never seen before. My favorite part of this was what looks like the focaccia, with lardo on top. The first main course was raw red prawns and caviar. It was my first time trying caviar, which I absolutely loved Next came what might be the best food I've had in my life - a spaghetti made with 3 different types of algae butter, and sea urchins. I can't even describe how good this pasta was - from the noodles, to the meat, to the natural, earthy flavors Before dessert, there was a mood cleanser of hibiscus tea and chocolate mousse. Dessert consisted of yogurt froth, kiwi, and namaleka, and was so good it exceeded a melt-in-your-mouth feeling. I thought I was done at this point, but they brought out another set of 5 smaller pastries - compliments of the pastry chef. These included a pistachio cream lollipop, french biscuits, madeleine, and more The cost of the Carte Blanche that I ordered was 159 euros, and I also got a glass of champagne for 25 euros I spent over 2 hours at this restaurant - way longer than I thought it would actually be. Like I said, this was my first fine dining experience of any kind, so I really had no idea what to expect. I was absolutely blown away by this experience and consider it to be 100% worth the money. For me - this felt like every single part of this experience was perfect. Everything I ate here was a massive step above any food I've had in the past. The quality is unreal. The variety is unparalleled. There are ingredients used here that I've never seen before - and stuff I didn't even know was edible. The amount of different food I got to try was like nothing I've experienced before. I left the restaurant incredibly full and completely satisfied Overall, this is an all-time experience. 10/10

14/07/2024: Thank all the gods that this place exists! We ordered lasagna, cannelloni and drinks. Everything was delicious! The lasagna and cannelloni were so tender it looked like they were cooked by angels! The service was excellent, we didn't have to wait long for anything. Pleasant, relaxing atmosphere in the establishment. A special bonus for you will be a magnificent panorama of the Ponte Vecchio bridge. If I'm in Florence, I'll definitely come here again! My thanks to the staff for a wonderful evening!

05/08/2024: Le restaurant est idéalement placé, calme et l’ambiance y est plus qu’agréable. Le service est impeccable (merci Pietro!) et notre dîner était excellent. Nous recommandons fortement.

08/08/2024: A really lovely early dinner with my daughter. A beautiful dinner setting in a large lush floral garden. The servers where very kind and welcoming and the food was fresh and delicious. Very kid friendly. We were lucky to have the place quiet as it was just before their serving time. Very happy to recommend them and would definitely come back

19/08/2024: We had breakfast there five days, it corresponds to the breakfast at B&B le Stanze del Duomo. The buffet is quite complete. The place is very nice, quiet and cozy.

18/08/2024: Amazing ambiance, service and food. Tasting menus are available for 1 person so solo diners can rejoice! I picked "The Sea," but "The Land" and Vegetarian are also available. The server recommended great wines by the glass when I didn't think I could finish a 4 glass pairing. Don't miss out on the house made bread! It's the best I've had served in a restaurant in Italy, so far.

28/08/2024: I can’t remember the last time I was sad that a meal had finished, the food was that good! The restaurant has a wonderful setting covered in vintage tourism posters from all over the world, and as you walk down the stairs you walk past the open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. The atmosphere is calm and even with a full restaurant it wasn’t loud. The service was impeccable, with the waiting staff on hand to help with menu recommendations and the appropriate wine to complement your dish choices. We went for three pasta dishes, the spinach gnocchi with sage and butter, the cannelloni ‘buca lapi’, and the fettuccine with veal ragu. They were all spectacular with the veal fettuccine the stand out dish for me. The menu offers a variety of Tuscan and Florentine dishes so what ever you choose you’re in for a great experience! Highly recommend!

22/08/2024: Siamo stati con tutta la famiglia a cena in questo ristorante suggeritoci dalla guida. E non potevamo trovare di meglio! I Primi sono ottimi, ma la carne davvero eccezionale. Unica pecca poca scelta per gli antipasti. Anche se quei pochi disponibili sono di buona qualità. Ci hanno suggerito un ottimo vino, servizio perfetto e cameriere gentile e simpatico! Ci tornerò sicuramente!

06/08/2024: I have been going to this restaurant for years... Top in the Novoli area for both pizza and food Fish. Their baked octopus as well as pizza is super recommended. Super recommended

02/08/2024: Atmosfera molto amichevole, gli interni del ristorante sono stati rinfrescati recentemente ed è gradevole. Personale gentile e alla mano. Aria condizionata perfettamente funzionante. La cucina è però superiore a tutto: ottimi gli scampi con riso pilaf, la padellata paccheri e frutti di mare, la pizza e la pasta al ragù per il più piccolo della tavolata, che è un buongustaio ed è rimasto molto soddisfatto. Le patatine fritte meritano una menzione speciale perché non surgelate come ormai fanno tutti, ma tagliate a mano e fritte bene. Prezzi molto onesti . Da ripetere presto e complimenti a tutti lo staff.

26/08/2024: They brought me some sandwich looking like mini club sandwich with mediocre ham and cheese with potato on side, which was saying prosciutto and cheese on the menu and I did not expect fries at all as it was supposed to be breakfast .

05/08/2024: Pizzeria and historic restaurant in Rifredi. Retro environment with a very vintage atmosphere, unique furnishings. Probably the widest menu in all of Florence, countless varieties of first courses, second courses, side dishes, pizza, desserts, you can really find everything and for all tastes and dietary needs. Family run, Italian-Tuscan cuisine, expert and very good pizza chef.

30/07/2024: Typical American tourist here! Stumbled upon this place as we were walking toward a "fancier" Italian restaurant. It was a 5 minute walk from our Airbnb, so we decided to stop. Pizza was great, pesto pasta was wonderful, and wine was delicious. We had 3 entrees and a bottle of wine and it was under $60 USD. Server was courteous and helpful communicating with "dumb" Americans! :)

26/08/2024: I don't think it can be defined as a bookshop anymore, but more of a tourist attraction. I went in yesterday to look for a book (which I miraculously found despite the terrible general selection) and I noticed with great disappointment how large the section of foreign language books was compared to that of Italian books. I have nothing against English, but it seems clear to me that Florence and its bookshops have made a tourist-type choice even on their shelves, which at the entrance only display books and gadgets relating to Florence and throughout the ground floor almost exclusively books in language. Even the stationery section is practically non-existent. Even the staff seem to have to sell you something at all costs (I can't imagine the pressure they receive from above... But I frequent several Feltrinellis even outside Tuscany and I've never received this pressure). I understand that there are many tourists in Florence, but are citizens and students, who need more detailed books than the four TikTok novels, no longer worth anything? Appalled by this choice

15/08/2024: The staff is incredibly nice and the noodles were absolutely supreme.
