Nice atmosphere... Good food... But a little expensive.

On May 2nd, my husband and I celebrated our son's baptism. In the weeks leading up to the event, the entire staff, especially Anna, were extremely kind and helpful. On the day of the event, they went out of their way to ensure everything ran perfectly. The food was plentiful, there was plenty to drink, and the staff was truly kind and attentive (not to mention the location, of course, a slice of paradise surrounded by nature). Thank you, Chalet Fontana, for making that day so wonderful, and thank you to Anna for the patience, dedication, attention, and kindness with which she treated us, and especially our little one! We will definitely be back soon!

This was some of the worst food we ate on this trip. The garden is beautiful but the interior was not overly charming. I had the prawns which arrived lukewarm and were not overly fresh. Salad was again not really fresh, no one in our party of four was thrilled with the food, it was palatable but certainly did not wow. we felt it was overpriced for the quality. There are much better options nearby with stellar service and top notch food.

We got married on Saturday, April 11th: the day had started off well, but ended with a disappointment that ruined one of the most important moments of our lives. The food was good overall, but for dessert, an aesthetically embarrassing cake was served: neglected, damaged at the corners, and presented carelessly on a long table, as if it were just another detail. At a wedding, certain "details" make all the difference, and here, even the minimum standard of attention was completely lacking. We chose a simple fruit tart because we believed it was a basic preparation, impossible to mess up, at least aesthetically. We were wrong. It's serious that a venue hosting such important events is unable to guarantee an adequate level of service even for such a central element, or at least communicate any limitations transparently. Serving a cake in these conditions on such an unforgettable day is simply unacceptable. I will always regret not having hired professionals for the cake, without even considering the impact on the photos. To make matters worse, after the wedding we reported the incident via email without receiving any response, not even an apology. A real shame, because it would have taken so little to avoid leaving such a negative impression on such an important day.

A beautiful cafe and restaurant on a lovely alternate walk to Piazzale Michelangelo along Viale Galileo that you would access from Porta Romano area. Tasty pastries and coffee, friendly service, beautiful garden setting. Restaurant looks great too. It is a great place to enjoy a cafe visit before going to Bardini or Boboli via San Lorenzo or to Piazzale Michaelangelo along Viale Galileo.

On Sunday evening, I arrived in Florence with tinted windows to visit my daughter, and the following morning we chose this little farmhouse restaurant with an open bar in the countryside. As soon as we arrived, the snakes from the family-run Tropea onion farm greeted us, and the candlelit climb upstairs was thrilling. With my distinct language, they almost mistook me for a foreigner. The dusty, cobweb-filled atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Beethoven's Fifth Symphony blessed my ears for the entire experience. We waited an indefinite amount of time for the food. The unlimited portion of spaghetti latorsi with seafood was average, average, decent, and undeniably good.

Beautiful garden. Friendly staff. Average food. If you're looking for an outdoor spot for lunch with the family, this is the place.
