11/10/2025: Five stars for the food, with a generous and varied menu ranging from meat to fish, featuring traditional Trieste dishes and more. Unfortunately, the service is lacking. This traditional Osteria, established in 1955, has numerous patrons at the counter, which takes up the kitchen and dining room staff's time. The atmosphere is welcoming, with wood furnishings and furnishings perfectly suited to this type of establishment, but unfortunately, the large number of patrons at the counter takes up space in the dining room (we had a table near the entrance in front of the counter, with people standing near us) and also creates confusion. Therefore, don't expect a quiet atmosphere; it's a bit chaotic. The food makes up for the above.

25/10/2025: We have been dining here for several years, and the food and service have consistently been excellent. That history is the reason I am giving more than one star despite my most recent experience. I am writing to bring to the owner’s attention an issue with your receptionist. Today, after calling twice, the receptionist hung up on me both times mid-conversation without any explanation or follow-up. I have always made reservations in English and have never encountered any issues in the past, so this behavior was unexpected and disappointing. We have recommended your restaurant to family and friends and have been loyal customers for years. However, after this experience, we will no longer be returning. The way a reservation call is handled sets the tone for the entire dining experience, and no guest should be treated this way. I hope this matter is addressed so that future customers do not have the same experience.

Fresh and raw fish takes center stage, but there are also a selection of delicious alternatives for guests who don't prefer fish. The wine cellar is a true rarity, with wines and champagnes that are hard to find these days – and at fair prices. A visit here is an absolute must if you're in the area.

We only had tiramisu, which was delicious, and they offered limoncello afterwards. Unfortunately, we couldn't try the cuisine, because we came after dinner, but what we saw on the plates was delicious. I don't usually write like this, but if I were invited, I would be happy to give a more specific opinion!

12/09/2025: I went for lunch today with my husband. Everything was excellent, the place was beautiful and well-decorated, and the food was excellent. We had two fricos as appetizers, two excellent first courses, and two desserts. The wine, water, and coffee were excellent. €90 was more than good. I can't wait to go back. Superb service.

Expect home-made flavors and tastes; it's truly home-cooked. I recommend the potato gnocchi (just like your mom or grandma made them). We'll be back!

21/10/2025: Everything was very clean and tidy... delicious food and excellent value for money... I recommend the sliced ​​roast beef, potatoes in tecia, and a creamy millefeuille to finish. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and everyone, from the kitchen to the dining room, had a smile on their face. I should point out that Mr. Pierluigi's review refers to the restaurant in Oslavia that bears the same name.

29/09/2025: The food isn't bad, and the staff is lovely, except for the owner who mistreats his own employees, even in front of customers. He's also really rude to those who dine in his restaurant; he won't let you pay by card (who knows why). I should also add that it's impossible to request variations on even basic and simple dishes, even if you have allergies or similar. Highly discouraged, personally, avoid.

26/09/2025: I went for lunch with my parents. The dishes were: goulash with polenta, gnocchi with roast gravy, and tagliatelle with wild boar. We were very satisfied. I especially enjoyed the goulash; since it was my first time there, I have to say it was really tender. The polenta was equally good. Recommended!

08/08/2025: I haven't been eating here since a month ago, when my husband and I had dinner. The prices were sky-high, the service was poor, the quantities were moderate to low, and the quality was average, not excellent. I expected more than I had two years ago. And to be fair, since I'm sensitive to digestion, I slept terribly, probably due to preservatives that weren't listed on the menu.
