Alla Catina In Pordenone

After an unforgettable dinner in Pordenone the night before, the next day In went for lunch and Alla Catina proved it wasn't a one-hit wonder. I ordered the Carbonara, and it was everything you hope for when eating pasta in Italy. Fresh, homemade pasta with the perfect bite, coated in a rich, silky sauce that was beautifully balanced. No unnecessary twists or gimmicks, just honest Italian cooking done exceptionally well. To go with it, I had a glass of the local Friuli Pinot Grigio, which was excellent. Fresh, crisp and the perfect pairing for the meal. Once again, the local wines did not disappoint. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we walked in. Service was relaxed, attentive and exactly what you hope to find in a traditional Italian restaurant. As someone who spends much of the year travelling the world on tour, I've learned that the best meals are often the simplest ones, provided they're made with great ingredients and genuine passion. Alla Catina is a perfect example of that. If you're in Pordenone and looking for authentic Italian food, put this place on your list. Fresh homemade pasta, excellent local wine, friendly people and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay for one more glass.

A historic restaurant in the center of Pordenone. The pizza, unfortunately small, is well-seasoned and very easy to digest. The Nicoise salad is excellent. Some portions are truly small (the pasta dishes and the mixed grilled fish, for example), others are adequate. Overall, the food is good.

We ordered the carbonara and it was simply 10/10, absolutely delicious. Plus, the restaurant is super friendly.

We dined on a busy night. However, the staff was friendly, helpful, and always available to answer any questions. Truly excellent. :-)

Delicious outdoor dinner in the center of Pordenone, in the small square that represents a crucial traffic hub, including pedestrian traffic. Succulent and inviting dishes for all tastes, a wide selection of beers, pizzas, and much more.

We had an excellent lunch experience at La Catina in Piazza Cavour, where we enjoyed excellent seafood dishes such as gratinated scallops, various fish-based pasta dishes, and a delicious tiramisu. All this was accompanied by a refined Monfort Cuvée '85 Brut, which made the meal even more enjoyable. We particularly appreciated the kindness and helpfulness of the staff throughout the service. This is a highly recommended restaurant in the heart of Pordenone for those seeking high-quality cuisine combined with a truly attentive service.

I celebrated my birthday at this historic restaurant last Sunday for lunch with my family. I must say I made the right choice. We chose to eat inside because it was a very hot day. If you prefer, you can eat outside, either on a covered veranda at the side or in an air-conditioned outdoor structure in front of the entrance with windows on all sides. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the staff is very professional and makes you feel at ease as soon as you step inside. Tables are arranged in small rooms, creating a sense of tranquility and privacy. I like to eat in places that aren't chaotic, where you can appreciate the quality of the food and converse without having to raise your voice to be understood, and here you really feel at home. We had a tartare as an appetizer and a gratin dish for two (scallops and scallops); three first courses: seafood carbonara, spaghetti 1908, and spaghetti alle peverasse di Caorle (all with homemade pasta). To accompany our meal, we sampled a perfectly chilled Trento DOC, which we sipped throughout the meal. Dessert was a must-try; we sampled their homemade tiramisu, which confirmed the excellence of their cuisine. The setting is elegant in its simplicity and is very well-maintained and clean. We also appreciated the honesty when it came to the bill; they discounted the bottle of wine for us, telling us it was already open (which we hadn't even noticed). This is a place I would definitely recommend. It's not cheap, but the price is proportionate to the quality of the food and the overall service. Thanks to all the staff, we will definitely be back.

A restaurant not to be missed if you're in the area. The friendliness of the servers, the unique atmosphere, and the generous and refined portions.

The appetizer was excellent, and the fish main course was as expected. The service between courses was excellent. The service was almost perfect, but a bit pushy when offering dessert.

We dined at Alla Catina on a weekday evening without a reservation. The staff was extremely kind and managed to get us a table anyway. We tried some fish-based starters, which were exceptional! Highly recommended!
