07/08/2026: I did the cooking class with Axel. It was absolutely amazing and would totally recommend. We made tiramisu, ravioli, and fettuccine. He was so friendly, kind, and a great teacher.

08/08/2026: While the food was good, the cuisine was very basic and the portions were quite small. My partner was still hungry when he left. While the welcome was particularly warm, the service was rather disastrous. I think the restaurant falls far short of expectations; I highly recommend walking a little further to find something much better in every respect.

08/07/2026: We ate two "Big" doner kebabs there, which unfortunately turned out to be a bit small compared to what we're used to. However, the taste was absolutely delicious, and the bread seemed freshly baked.

07/08/2026: Very pleasant atmosphere and extremely friendly waiters. :) They even pushed tables together for us so we'd have more space under the cool mist – in this heat, that's invaluable. ☺️ The food was excellent – ​​definitely worth a visit. ☺️

15/05/2026: Stopped just for a sitdown and drink. Ordered Cuba Libre. The bar decided changing from rom to whiskey without asking. Cuba=rum! Waiter took over my wife's phone and made a 5 star review (to be clear, not posting). Little did they know, when we travel, food and drinks is our main activities. Therefore service is a big part. I will put it simple... You do not switch the main ingredient in an ordered drink without consulting the customer. You do not take charge of a customers belonging and implies to give a flawless 5 point review over a drink.

24/07/2026: Didn’t have any food but they have a nice selection of beers on tap. We tried the Blanche, session hazy IPA and a sour. All hit the spot! The view is perfect, just by the river

14/06/2026: Very delicious ice cream! We tried in total 4 flavors and 2 were so good that we went back and ordered them again. These two were Opera and Passion Fruit. If you like sweet and creamy Opera is the way to go. If otherwise you like fruity lighter flavors then the passion fruit is the go to. The pistachio was okay, not the best I have tried. And the dark ciok was quite nice but it became repetitive after a couple of spoons. There was a queue but it moves very fast. The workers were nice too.

13/06/2026: Fraud Alert! The owner is a petty thief who pulls illegal move on American customers. So I had two dishes, one terrible and the other mediocre. Beef tasted more like tofu. The texture was questionable. But the punch to my gut happened when the time came for me to pay. He brought his credit card payment device. I made my payment with apple pay expecting to get a print out of the payment from the machine. The owner instead takes the machine back to the register, returns with a printed receipt which did not have my credit card info. I didn't think much of it until I got an altert from Apple Pay saying I was charged not the 43 euros I was billed for, but for $52 and change, yes, in USD. That dirty move of charging a customer in foreign currency in Italy happens to be illegal and such move is considered by authorities as fraud. So basically I wound up paying the extra fee I didn't have to pay for had I been charged in euros. Shame on you, owner of Dragone Oriente!!! Petty thief! I will contact the Italian authority and report this SCAM pulled by Ristorante Cinese Dragone D-Oriente!!! I was told to be careful about pickpockets and scams while traveling in Italy by friends. I wound up having the best time of my life in Italy. People were great. So were the food and sceneries. The one time I do get scammed, yup, I do by a Chinese merchant who would do anything for 3 extra euros. Go figure! Ugh!!!

12/06/2026: Really good food and service. We ate there 3 times for a stay of 5 days in Venice. As a Chinese I would say this is authentic and legit. Way way better than the one near the st Lucia train station (Asia ristorante) which was super awful in terms of food and service. The staff at dragone d’orient are very helpful and warm. The food really warms the soul. Highly recommended!

28/01/2026: I dined here with friends for the famous elephant ears. Truly excellent. The restaurant is very nice, although a little crowded, but I assume that's normal on a Friday night. The service was excellent and fast. The food was excellent.

09/07/2026: I highly recommend this "ferovecio" themed place. Reservations are recommended. I went this evening and tried two off-menu burgers with a friend: the "Bosco Burger" and the "Caminetto Burger." They were excellent. I recommend the "Ferovecio Platter," which is excellent, but you need to book because it takes a while to prepare.

28/06/2026: A Venice as real as a Canaletto painting is realistic; courtesy and friendliness are always present. A regular stop for true Venetians and tourists alike, everyone at Giosia feels "at home."
